Staff very friendly and helpful, always kept my family up to date on progress during my surgery.

I would say the staff that helped me was some of the most caring staff! My pre-op and post-op nurses were wonderful! It was good experience.

The only thing that bothered me about the hospital stay was that the room was very outdated, small, somewhat dirty looking and didn't even have a place for my husband to sleep overnight. No chairs, couches or cots.

The accommodations are not lovely. The tiny rooms were sort of clean. The sink stayed backed up. You could literally shower and use the bathroom at the same time. The surgical team was excellent. All of my doctors were excellent. Nursing staff and aids not so excellent. Don't get me wrong, I had one or two that did a great job BUT I ran across some that I wondered why they were there. I had one that wore a whole bottle of perfume...gag-especially after being so sensitive to smell after surgery. I had one complain about having to do HER JOB and on the last day I think I saw a nurse twice. But since my surgeon and his team are so great, and I received EXCELLENT care from them, then it made the other concerns bearable.

I am very confident with the surgeons and the entire staff at Vanderbilt and would not think of having this surgery anywhere else.
