If I has it to do all over again, I would still choose Vanderbilt. The staff was great....they cheered me on as I made the "circle" around the hallways. The staff at the Surgical Weight Loss Center has been very supportive, even taking the time to answer my questions by email.

I was treated like a Princess and I really do mean it. They were so sweet to me and my mother while I stayed there. I can't really explain it all. I don't think I could have stayed in a better hospital. Thumbs up Vandy!!!

Was taken very good care of and my surgeon was the "head" surgeon.

Overall, the surgeon was extremely professional, personable, and easy to talk to. However, the disorganization of the administrative support staff has been very exhausting. It is often difficult to contact someone directly about billing or setting up appointments. Appointments were made without my knowledge that I would have missed had I not remained vigilant in calling them. From my first seminar until my surgery was performed took 13 months.

Again their expertise was top notch but their bedside manner was more than lacking.

My first visit to the Weight Loss Clinic, was, Wed. Feb. 28th, 2007. It was great. Everything you need, is on that floor, you don't have to leave the hospital for fills, the Doctor does it in his hospital! (GREAT) Also, if any testing needs to be done, which I am having Mon. Mar. 5th, 2007, all of that is right by The Weight Loss Clinic! Everything was neat, and very up to date, on all of their equipment!

All of my nurses and "care partners" were great. My only complaint was that they don't respond to the nurse call button. The light would turn on and I wouldn't see anyone for over 1/2 an hour. I had to have my husband go find my nurse everytime.

The lifeflight pad (helicopters) is very close to this floor, but it wasn't as annoying as I worried it would be. It flew a few times everyday, but it wasn't very loud.

My room was a good size and private, but the chair for my husband to sleep in was terribly uncomfortable. I sent him home the 2nd night so he could actually get some sleep. The nurses were very good about not waking me up too much at night when they were doing my vitals. They always left the light off and I only had to be awake to get my temp taken. The rest I was able to sleep through.

They weren't quick with the pain medications, but they were generous. They were always trying to stay ahead of the pain, so that was a great help.
