St. Alexius NewStart Hospital
This hospital is excellent. They definitely know how to treat their patients & could teach any other hospital in the world what it means to be patient friendly. No matter what was asked, or who it was asked of, the staff responded promptly & efficiently. Every person we met from the janitor up the to Director of Marketing went out of their way to be friendly & make sure my stay was as comfortable as possible.
I was well taken care of and they did their best to make me feel as little pain as possible. I also read some woman on here who said she didn't have a bath in her room, just a shower. Well, if you have gastric bypass surgery, you are not allowed to submerge fully in water for a month, so it is a moot point. Anyway, I didn't have any problems and I thought they were very attentive to details.
Avoid it if possible. I was in the same gown on the last day of my stay that I was in on the first day, no bath til 5th day, no bath in room, poor poor unfeeling treatment by staff. This is the WORST hospital I've ever been in in my life! I have no complaint on my surgeon, but this is the poorest excuse for a hospital that I've ever known, and I was basically afraid of the treatment I was receiving as a result. Terrible!
Overall Hosp. was great, however the nursing staff I felt was very very dumb! I think they were undereducated. They expected Way too much out of you and seemed very very annoyed when called to go to the bathroom. I cryed and whined a lot so maybe it was just ME? I do know that I want to commend the Repsitory Staff they are A+++++++.
I ended up with Pnemonia and they saved my life.
The only complaint that I have was that overnight I had some nurses that I could have cared less for. One of them I couldnt understand a word she said and the other just acted like she didnt even want to be there and could have cared less how I felt. But now the morning and evening shifts I can not talk about enough. They were wonderful and did absolutly anything I needed.
