Scripps Mercy Hospital (COE) Hospital
I think this hospital is the best. The nurses were professional, intelligent, knowledgeable, personable and quick in response to any needs. I'm an RN, and I was extremely impressed with the quality of nursing care given in this hospital. I felt that I was in very competent hands. I also had the Hillrom Total Care Bariatric bed which was so comfortable, I think it did almost as much as the morphine in controlling my pain and discomfort. Pain control was excellent -- Morphine PCA (not stingy doses, either) and Toradol around the clock. My pain level in the hospital never reached >3 (out of 10). I was even asking to get out of bed early post op because my pain was so well controlled. My insurance wanted to choose my hospital, so I paid cash out of pocket and it was worth every cent. Thank God that I knew enough to put my health, welfare and safety ahead of the $. I picked the best surgeons, best hospitals and best nurses and it was a fabulous experience. It wasn't always easy, but I believe that my experience was the best that major abdominal surgery can be. Thank you Dr. Rumsey, Pacific Bariatrics and Scripps Mercy hospital.
