Highland Hospital Hospital
I had good nurses and techs. I did feel that I had to ask them what they were giving me each time. But there weren't any mistakes. I do not recommend taking your own medicine. They did not return it to me and I had to pay for a new prescription out of pocket. I had good care from all of the doctors too. Most of them came back to see me and to see how I was doing. That meant a lot to me. Dr. O'Malley & Staff were great too. He visited often and so did his interns. I had a good experience overall.
While I was very pleased with how well the hospital was equipped to handle overweight patients and the privacy of the room I had, I felt there were not enough RNs on duty, and while the nurse techs were plentiful, they were not able to do anything more than take vitals and go get the RN. I also thought that some of the nurse techs were careless and thoughtless when it came to dealing with pain from a blown out IV that I had when they were trying to get vitals.
Very happy with Highland Hospital. It is easy to get around in and people will help with directions if you need them. Facility was very clean and staff is helpful and pleasant. TV and phone were ready to go when I got to my room and I was able to control the temperature myself (loved the AC unit...LOL). Bed was totally adequate and fairly comfortable. No complaints here!
