TriStar Centennial Medical Center Hospital
Having had the Roux-en-y gastric bypass surgery in November of 2009, I have lost a total of 75 lbs. and am more pleased than I had expected. My first impression of Dr. Dyer and current impression is of a very caring and competent surgeon. Being an RN, I consider myself a good judge of this. His staff was very knowledgeable and easy to talk to. I would highly recommend Dr. Dyer to anyone contemplating weight loss surgery.
My surgery was April 29 2010 Sleeve Gastrectomy . Dr Dyer was the best. I went into my Consultation visit thinking I would have Lap band surgery. But by his complete presentation of all my options I decided to have Sleeve. I am so Happy. From my office visits with his incredible staff, to the hospital stay at Centennial. Dr Dyer spends all the time you need to answer questions, and gives you encourgament. His bedside manner is what I like the most. My experience could not have been better. Thank you Dr Dyer.
Dr. Dyer is very laid back and he made it seem like I have known him for a long time. The office staff there is outstanding. I know that i am in good hands with Dr. Dyer and his staff. This is my impression from just the first visit. Thank you.
I had gastric bypass on 02 24 10 and I am so glad I did. It has changed my life. I have lost 92lbs in 9 weeks and feel fantastic. I highly recommend Dr. Dyer, he took so much time during the initial consult. He explained in details all my options and answered all my questions. He took over 90 minutes with me. Unheard of today. Dr. Dyers staff is incrediable also. The day of surgery finally came and Dr. Dyer talked to me before surgery to make sure I had all my questions answered. Surgery lasted longer than normal due to some scar tissue he ran into. He kept my family informed the entire time, again fantastic experience. Dr. Dyer insist that you go on a diet 2 weeks prior to your surgery date and this really helps you prepare and some other gastric patients I talked to during support groups did not like this, but I highly recommend it.
When I attended my oldest daughters wedding 2 weeks ago, but son (20 years old) cried because he had never seen me this small before.
THANK YOU DR. DYER
Dr. Dyer performed gastric bypass surgery on my husband in January 2008. Over the next 18 months, my husband lost over 200 lbs and has kept it off. When my husband and I first met Dr. Dyer, I knew that one day I would return to have him perform the same surgery on me. That day happened in March 2010.
Dr. Dyer's interaction with patients is very professional. He is exceptionally calm, which makes you feel as though he has everything under control. It is easy and comforting to put yourself in his care. He recognizes that each of his patients is unique and treats them accordingly. Even when I called Dr. Dyer after hours one night, he was very reassuring. He has the ability to take what may seem like a crisis to his patient, and turn the situation into something much more manageable. He gives sound advice and clear instructions - how can you go wrong?
If you're looking for a "fun" surgeon, however, keep looking! I'm sure Dr. Dyer has a wonderful sense of humor, but he's not the type to sit and joke with you. He is pleasant and approachable, but does not readily engage in casual conversation.
Dr. Dyer is kind, attentive, and focused strictly on your surgery and recovery. I am a little more than 7 weeks post-op at this time, and I have had no complications. I only spent 2 nights in the hospital, and I credit these favorable outcomes to Dr. Dyer's ability as a surgeon. I have great respect for Dr. Dyer and have thanked him for saving my life.
As for the office staff, I have been disappointed with them on more than one occasion. I speak strictly from my own personal experience, but I found them to be not as supportive as I would have imagined. The office staff was not able to answer simple questions regarding my billing, and the nursing staff seemed aloof and uncaring. Maybe they were just having a "bad day" when I was there.
The office staff eventually got me the information I needed and resolved all outstanding issues to my satisfaction, but I felt it took extra effort on my part to get to that point. Hopefully, the nursing staff will be in a better mood when I return for my 3-month visit on June 1. I have spoken with other patients, though, who have nothing but glowing compliments for these ladies, so it is obvious that my experience is not typical.

I had my 1st visit with Dr. Dyer on 4/16/2010 he and his staff were super nice. My surgery is set up for 5/12/2010 I am going to have the Gastric Sleeve and I am so excited!
My first impression of Dr. Dyer was how friendly and helpful he was. He took the time to answer all my questions. He advised me on all the risks of the surgery and the benefits. I have had several follow-up visits and he still continues to be so nice. His office staff is well trained and very helpful also. My visits there are pleasant and not much waiting time at all. He always stresses the importance of my follow-up visits and how to take care of myself. He is a very competent surgeon and has a greatbedside manner. I highly recommend Dr. Dyer.
I wasn't sure that I was going to like Dr Dyer. At the beginning, he seemed a little harsh to me. However, I knew that he had a great reputation, so I wasn't going to let personality differences stop the surgery.
He did a great job with my surgery. I have had little to no complications. However, he stepped up in my corner when I least expected. I had a family member say in front of Dr Dyer that I had not put any effort into my surgery, nor had I lost any weight. Dr Dyer immediately started singing my praises of how hard I had worked and how this family member should build people up instead of tearing them down. I couldn't have been prouder at that moment to call him my doctor.
Whenever I need something, his office supports, and I would recommend people to him any day.

My name is Marian and I started the thought process and research into gastric bypass about a couple of years ago. I kept hearing the name "Dr. Dyer," so I decided to look him up. I looked up his testimonial on the Centennial Bariatric website and I was not disappointed. Everything he said hit home with me, from his wife and childeren to the medical challenges they had experienced as a family and survived and his expression of love for Jesus Christ. I knew in my heart that Cenennial was the place and Dr.Dyer was the surgeon. All the staff has been wonderful! Pam, the nutritionist, is outstanding. Dr. Dyer can process many things at once and he always hears what you say and he pays attention. My life has been changed definitely for the better. He made the surgical process as pleasant as possible. I would definitely do this again and I highly recommend Dr. Dyer and his staff.
Sincerely,
Marian
