TriStar Centennial Medical Center Hospital
My first impression of Dr. Dyer was very good, he seemed like a kind and gentle man.
The office staff was wonderful at my consultation visit.
The risks of surgery were fully and completely addressed at my consultation visit.
My only concern was that the visit seemed very short and I'm a little concerned that I don't have another visit with him before the surgery.
DR DYER IS A WONDERFUL MAN, CARING SEEM TO KNOW WHAT HE IS TALKING ABOUT, VERY UP FRONT LETTING YOU NO WHAT CAN HAPPEN I LIKE THAT I ALREADY NEW MOST OF WHAT COULD HAPPEN. THE STAFF THERE IS GREAT VERY UNDERSTANDING, AND WILLING TO HELP AT ANY TIME, I SPEAK WITH TRACY AND ROBIN ALL THE TIME, THEY ARE GREAT GIRLS. I CAN SAY THERE WAS NOTHING THAT I DIDNT LIKE ABOUT DR DYER, HE IS WONDERFUL.
Dr Dyer was extremely helpful in answering any questions that I had regarding the surgery. He made sure that I realized that this is a drastic solution to obesity and that there are dangers involved. He went over my medical history in great detail and had a lot of questions about previous surgeries. He also questioned me about my previous attempts at weight loss. Since the Bariatric unit at Centennial is so new, I had reservations about the amount of experience that the surgeons have. After answering all of my questions, I have a lot of faith that the Dr knows what he is doing. He and Dr Olsen both trained at Alvarado in Calif. He has been doing laproscopic surgery for 20+ years. I am still and will forever be grateful for the surgical competence that he diplays. This is the man who changed my life for the better. And will be the means to find a healthier body.
7/12/01 - Waiting for my first appointment with the doctor. Have only met him in a group forum situation.
I have been very impressed with Dr. Dyer and all of his staff since day one. The only problem is since he is so busy patients have to wait a while in the waiting room. The great thing about waiting is that you meet so many people that are at different level. You make quite a few friends just in the waiting room. :) The other thing about Dr. Dyer that I like is that he is very honest. He will tell you how it is which surgery you are expected/possible to have. He truly cares for all of his patients and that is very important.
I first meet Dr Olsen at a free seminar at one of the local hospitals. He seemed very nice and gave alot of information. My first visit was short but I like Dr. Olsen. He gave me more information about the surgery and talked about the risk. But that was all, no information about the after care. His office staff was very nice but a little skarred. I was also disapointed in how long the process is after you get approved from your insurance. When I first got a approval I was notified and told that the Dr's office would call to set a date. They never did, so I called them and it was 2 and a half months before I ever saw the doctor. At the time of my call she said I already had a surgery date and made me believe it was in 3 months shortly after my first appoitment but at my appoitment I found out it wasn't for 2 and half months more. All together 6 months from the insurance approval date
I liked Dr. Dyer from the
very begining. He took his time, and explained
everything.
He seems to be a very
careing Dr..
His staff was very courtious.
I'm happy that Dr. Dyer
will be doing my surgery.
I could not say enough great things about Dr. Dyer. I am now one month post-op and Dr. Dyer was wonderful. He made rounds at the hospital every day and made sure that he visited all of his patients. He has a very charming personality and is a great physician. I felt very fortunate to have him as my surgeon and very lucky that he took such a great interest in my recovery process. You will all love him...
