I have met with Dr. Olsen twice now. He is a very kind man. I really respect and trust him because he took the time to spend with me in making sure that I had all of the knowledge necessary to make my decision. While he takes care of business he also has a wonderful bedside manner. He has a wonderful office staff and I feel very comfortable in their care.

Dr Olsen was very good. He sit with me and explained details about the surgery. He asked questions about my lifstyle. He explained the good and bad about the surgery. I was given written information about every thing you could think of in relations to the surgery. After care has also been great. If I have any questions or problems his staff is always willing to help. He suggest support groups for aftercare also. I rate Dr. Olsen overall a 10.

dr olsen seemed to be really concerned about my personal issues and also really takes the time to make you aware of the risks and benefits that go along with this surgery. i have had a good experience with him thus far. It does take a while to get an appt. I have not had surgery yet so I am not really qualified to judge him on bedside care, but I will. The office staff is very helpful(if a bit rushed).

Okay now I've had surgery and I would still say that Dr Olsen seems to really care about his patients and being able to help them improve themselves. He can be a bit serious but that's a good thing right? I would trust him with my life (again)

Wanted to make sure I doing well and that the hospital staff was taking care of my needs. I would have to say that he has enormouse surgical competence and his bedside manner is wonderful.

Dr. dyer came highly reccomended form a former co-worker who had had the surgery 4 months before me. Every thing my friend said about dr dyer being one of the best and most personable doctors she had ever met was absoluetely true!!!!!! His office staff was very accessable and helpful and helped with the insurance paperwork.

I have not met my surgeon yet. I have only talked with his nurse on the phone. His name is John K. Wright in Nashville, Tennessee at Vanderbuilt Hospital. I have heard good thing about him so far from many many people and doctors. I cam excited about meeting him and very excitied about starting the process of my surgery and doing the best I can and I know that will bring me great results. I cannot wait until that time comes for me.
I have changed my surgeons. I went to a lecture tonight April 24, 2001 with a Dr.Douglas Olsen. He was very informative and very nice. He was guick and very down to earth and to the point. Did not sugar coat anything and I like that. Seems to be a great doctor and I believe I am going to change to him.

Ok I have a new Doctor of my choice. Dr. David Dyer and he is great and very nice and respectful. He laughs with you and I like that. All the same time he knows what he is talking about. Wonderful Doctor and I am glad I picked him, Cannot wait till my surgery.

I lked him very much. His staff was very friendly and helpful. He emphasizes aftercare very much and he has one set into place. He told me all the risks of surgery
which scared me to death but he was realistic. So far i rated him at about 85%. Surigical competence and bedside manner are reatly important to me.

I met with my surgeon, Dr. David Dyer on June 25th. He was late for the appointment due to a problem in surgery which was perfectly okay with me. I would have preferred him take care of his patient in surgery than to worry about me!

He came in and seemed in a hurry, however I did feel like he was very thorough during the examination. He talked a bit about the positives and negatives of WLS and wanted to know if I had any questions. I felt that he was trying to get a "feel" for my level of preparedness for the journey I was about to embark on. He must have been satisfied with my answers because he agreed to do the surgery and we scheduled a date! Unfortunately though, he discovered a hernia during his examination so I will have to have my surgery done by the open method vs. the laparascopic method. This results in a longer recovery time and probably a little longer stay in the hospital but I am absolutely okay with that.

He wanted to make sure I was participating in the support groups and was prepared for the changes I would go through after surgery. Overall, he was very professional and I was pleased with the visit. I think he would have visited more with me if he had not been so far behind schedule. I am extremely satisfied with him as my surgeon and after researching his history, I know he has an outstanding reputation. I am very happy with him and feel confident that I have chosen the right surgeon for me!

**UPDATE November 23rd, 2001

I just want to say I am so extremely pleased with Dr. Dyer!! I did not get a good or bad feeling from him when we met for the initial consult, just that he was a professional which was okay. However, once I got to the hospital for my surgery, I felt that he was very concerned with making sure everything went well. He took the time to talk to me every time he came to my room and he really listened and made several adjustments to my room, meds, etc. based on our conversations. When I had to go back into the hospital for my endoscopy (see below), he actually called me from the operating room and said "don't argue with me about going in the hospital, get to the ER now." I did not want to go back in the hospital but he took the time to explain why and what could happen if I did not. I truly truly feel like he cares about his patients and I feel so fortunate that he is on my side!! I can't recommend him enough, however, get ready, he has a long wait for appointments and surgery dates but he is worth it!!

Dr. Dyer is very professional, knowledgeable, and compassionate. After our first meeting with him I knew we'd found the right surgeon for me.

Recently I sat down an spoke with Dr. Dyer about my need for obesity surgery. Dr. Dyer was very friendly and explained to me the qualifications for being a good candidate. He spoke with me at length about the risks involved and I am scheduled for surgery in March of next year. While I was in the waiting room, I listened to a couple of his current patients. They were very enthusiastic about their surgery, and very complimentary of Dr. Dyer. I am eagerly awaiting what he can do for me.
