Dr Clark and his staff are wonderful. They truly believe that no question is a dumb question. My first impression of him was good he assured my comfort in deciding to take this life changing challenge. What was most comforting he and his staff had an answer for ever question that was asked. Not only could he answer the questions, but he had some sort of literature to correspond with his answer.
I feel really safe with him doing my procedure.
MY FIRST IMPRESSION OF DR.THOMAS CLARK, WAS HIS KNOWLEDGE OF PERFORMANCE FOR SURGERY. HE ANSWERED EVERY QUESTION I HAD VERY SERIOUSLY AND TRUTHFULLY. HE WAS VERY FRIENDLY, SMILED ALOT AND MADE ME FEEL VERY COMFORTABLE AND ASURED EVERYONE THAT WE WERE NOT ALONE. HIS STAFF IS EXCELLENT! COULDN'T ASK FOR A BETTER BUNCH. FOR THE FIRST TIME IN MY LIFE I ONLY HAD TO WAIT ABOUT 5MIN BEFORE BEEING SEEN BY ANYONE FOR AN APPOINTMENT! IM VERY PLEASED TO SEE HOW THEY HAVE A AFTER CARE PLAN SET UP TO KEEP TRACK OF YOUR HEALTH BEFORE AND AFTER SURGERY AND NOT LEAVE YOU HANGING ON YOUR OWN.I'M LOOKIN FORWARD TO A SUCCESSFUL SURGERY AND RECOVERY EXPECIALLY IF IM BEEING TREATED BY THE WONDERFUL STAFF AT THE WLSC!I'LL KEEP EVERYONE POSTED.
I met Dr. Clark at his seminar that he offers to inform and answer any questions that you may have. He was very informative and answered a lot of concerns that I had. I also have done research on Dr. Clark and have only heard great things about his procedures. The staff members at WLSC are pleasant and sensitive to your needs. I would rate the environment on a scale of 1 to 10 and 11. They are just that good. I believe perspective patients of Dr. Clark should know that He is very detailed and you will be highly informed about his procedures. Also, you will know that his reputation is highly favored.
I met Dr. Clark at the information seminar on January 20, 2004. He was very pleasant and answered everyone's questions. His office staff was very friendly and made me feel very comfortable.
The seminar itself was good, but I felt like they left out some important details regarding the procedure itself (and of course, I didn't think of these things until I was on my way home!) I am hoping that these concerns of mine (is the catheter to be inserted before or after I am put to sleep, can they give me something before the surgery to take "the edge" off, and more info about the g-tube) will be addressed at the three-hour class that I will attend.
Aftercare seems to be a vital part of the process, as Dr. Clark wants to see you several times post-op, and then regularly for life. The three-hour class is supposed to address nutrition, exercise, and post-op care. The idea that this surgery is a tool to lose weight and requires lifetime diligence is very clearly impressed upon patients.
Dr. Clark seemed to be a very personable doctor. I worked as a nursing assistant in a New Jersey hospital years ago and most of the doctors there would barely grunt at you, let alone have a real conversation. In short--act like they were interested and that you weren't wasting their time. Of course, if I had to choose between a surgeon who was rude but extremely skillful, and one who chatted with me all day but had no idea what he or she was doing surgically, I'd have to choose the jerk--ha! Fortunately for me, with Dr. Clark I seem to getting the best of both worlds.
These comments are my own personal feelings and are only the way I preceived things to be. Dr Clark was very warm and caring. I still thing he saved my life.
His office staff was very helpful, and friendly. They put me at easy immediately. The made me feel I was very special.
Dr Clark and his staff seemed to be very knowledgable about all the aspects of the surgery including after care.
They stress the importants of eating the right things, including the right amounts. Also stress the importants of exercise and support of groups.
they were very up front about the risks of the surgery and being a nurse I had already done my home work.
On a scale of 1-10 I would rate Dr Clark and his staff a 10.
Surgical competence and bedside manner were both great and I have no complaints. I do not feel i would have lived for much longer the way I was and I am very greatful for the change in my life. It was not easy and I was very scared but I had the support of my family and friends and now life is great. even with all the wrinkles in my face I would do it all over again.
My First impression was good about Dr. Clark. Hw wanted to make sure he covered all questions concering the surgery.
Dr. Clark is a very compassiant doctor.
Very Good office staff.Everything flows in his office.
There wasn't anything I didn't like.
He is the BEST. Both of my other doctors spoke highly of him and recommended hom for the surgery.
Aftercare is as important as the surgery. Your appointments are very structured.
Dr. Clark shares the risks of surgery in his consultantion and also let you know that anything he can control he will. He tries to forsee and cover anything that would prevent you from coming out of surgery and back to the healing process.
Dr. Clark and his office staff are wonderful. They patiently answered all my questions and made me feel comfortable. A member of his staff visited me everyday in the hospital and chatted for a few minutes (in addition to the Drs daily visit). I would highly recommend the Weight Loss Surgery Center and Dr. Thomas Clark to anyone who can travel to Newport News, VA.
I have not met Dr. Clark personally to date. I have listend to him in the informational seminar and I have dealt with his staff. Dr. Clark was very forth right during his presentation and is very personable. His staff is very helpful and patient with any questions that you have. Dr. Clark and his staff stress the need to be prepared before, during and after the surgery. His program is also filled with options of visits with dietician, personal trainer, etc. I did alot of research on the surgery and the surgeon prior to starting this process and I feel comfortable with my decision of using Dr. Clark and the type of surgery itself which is a combination of a VBG and Gastric Bypass.
