I found Dr. Khalili to be very involved in the total process. I was able to meet with him a week prior to my surgery. He gave me all the time I needed and answered every question or concern I had. He met with me on the morning of the surgery and again explained the schedule for the day. While I was in the hospital, he came by every day to see if I needed anything. Since I have been post-op, I have had two followup appointments. Dr. Khalili met with me at both of these appointments.rnrnThe staff at Cedars-Sinai in LA has always been very friendly and helpful. The weight loss center uses interns extensively, so you get to talk to many young doctors as well as meeting with your regular surgeon at each visit.rnrnThe pre-op program and post-op program are extensive and very important. I know this sounds like a \"too good to be true\" scenario, but I have had no issues or complaints with my experience.
I met with him the week before surgery for the Pre-Op visit. It was a group meeting with 4 other patients, myself, Dr. Khalili and Dr. Nishi. It was pretty rehearsed and lacked the one on one connection but then I wanted him to do the surgery because aparently he is the "best". So, saying that...the surgery was a huge success, therefore, he is a great surgeon!!
In the beginning I didn't meet Dr. Khalili, but I met Dr. Furman. Dr. Furman is the screening doctor for Dr. Khalili. I was very much impressed with Dr. Khalili''s process. He and his staff take this surgery very serious and they screen every single potential patients. Not only do you meet Dr. Furman you also meet the the nurse and dietition as well.
After meeting the nurse and dietition you then see Dr. Furman, which means you're a potential candidate as long as all your pre-op test are good. At that point in time you are give a list of things that need to be done before seeing Dr. Khalili and having the surgery. That is what really impressed me the most.
The entire staff are just great and very considerate of all the patients. I had so many questions that I would from time to time call up their office with questions and they were very helpful.
At this point in time the only negative thing I can say about Dr. Khalili is that I wish I could of seen him more times then the other doctors.
For any future patients who would see Dr. Khalili is that be patience. The doctors and their staff knows what their doing that it might take time, but think of it, it's pertaining to you and your well being and that alone should never be rushed.
The nurses and staff members give you liturture about aftercare and the weekly support group meetings. They also provide you with phone number of the dietition.
They also stress the risk factor of having surgery. Not only does Dr. Khalili tells you, but he has several other doctors in his office as well and they too talk to you about the rist factor.
I've never seen a surgical team that not only cares for your well-being but they also have great bedside manners. Especially the professor. Before you go home the nursing staff at the hospital goes over all your instructions as to what you can do and eat. After you go home they call you up to see how you're dong, which again is great.
If you do see anyone from Dr. Khalili's office don't ever hestitate to ask question, they are very much informative.
Dr Khalili was wonderful. Right after my surgery I wondered if he had even done it. I never had any pain, not in the hospital or once I went home. I had been so scared and felt so good afterwards. I would recommend Dr Khalili to anyone. His office staff, especially Ruth has been wonderful. His bedside manner and surgical competence was beyond anything I could have asked for.
I met my surgeon Dr Khalili 6 days before my surgery on my pre-op appointment, he was in and out BUT he was very nice, young, Perfessional, Clean "thats important" my impression has not changed, I have seen him 7 times as of today and my impression gets better and better, the first 3 times I seen him he was sick, he had a nasty cold, he seems to be more patient and always makes sure I have no more questions before he leaves the room. the office staff is great, Peggy is very intertaining with her singing lol... the nurse Elaine I am not impressed with at all. the staff or the surgeon has not said one word to me about aftercare care. the surgeon him self did tell me on my pre op that there are risks and he names them very fast. I think my surgeon is a very smart man and Im thankful to have had him.
