Dr. Khalili was fantastic. His staff at Cedars-Sinai Los Angeles have been wonderful. I feel that I had all my questions answered and that I was treated with respect and compassion. rnAfter care is, so far, very structured. There are post-op appointments and people at the clinic to talk to if needed.rnI would say the area in which Dr. Khalili could use some improvement would be his bed side manner. I only met him once throughout the the pre-op process. I saw him once again just before the surgery. While in the hospital his fellows came to check on me and I haven't had a pre-op appointment yet. I still bellieve Dr.Khalili to be excellent, especially considering how many of these surgeries he does.rnI would highly recommend this program and doctor to anyone considering RNY.
When I first met my doctor I was nervous, you know the whole white-coat syndrome. He was really forthcoming and had a great deal of knowledge to share; including his incredible staff who have been not only supportive but incredible also. rnI really have never had a bad experience with anyone on his staff or with my doctor. They are caring, joyful, fun to be around even when you're not feeling good, knowledgable, eager to help you if you are having any problems and helpful on every level.rnHe does have an aftercare program and support groups. Its a lifetime thing. They don't just do surgery and say goodbye, both my doctor and his staff are there for you anytime. I would rate him a 10+!rnI feel both bedside manner and surgical competence are both equally valuable and Dr. Khalili and his staff are amazing people. I thank Cedars Sinai for having such a wonderful group of people and I am proud to reccommend them every day and here on out.
I first met Dr. Khalili on December 5, 2006 and was very impressed with his caring attittude. The staff in his office have been wonderful. I had some difficulty with my insurance company losing my paperwork (twice) and they worked extra hard to get everything resubmitted in a very short length of time and kept in communication with me. I had my surgery on Feb. 28, 2007 and couldn't have asked for a better surgeon. My surgery time was delayed for a few hours and the wait was hard but I was told that a previous surgery took longer than expected. I had some complications that needed to be addressed during the surgery and Dr. Khalili adressed them with no problem. My follow-up visits have been wonderful also. Dr. Khalili and his staff always take time with me and make sure that all of my questions are answered. I would recommend Dr. Khalili to anyone who is contemplating surgery.
Dr. Khalili is one of those surgeons who is, no doubt, very good at what he does. He is the head of the department and therefore very busy. rnrnI only met him twice. Once, for about 3 minutes, at the pre-op conference, after his assistant had conducted the meeting. Dr. K breezed in and spent about 3 minutes with us to see if we had any questions. He seemed nice, but \"nice\" wasn't particularly what I was interested in. \"Good at what he does\" was what I wanted. I think I got it.rnrnI saw him the second time just before the anesthesiologist put me out (I think). Again, not what you call a close personal experience, but then I don't plan to have him over for coffee either.rnrnOn the other hand, his assistant (first name: Asok) is utterly charming, friendly and I would have him over for coffee! rnrnIf you get Dr. K, just consider yourself lucky that he's so good --- and give up on any idea of actual human contact. Remember that he's the best at what you are paying him for! rnrnPlease keep in mind that this isn't a \"negative\" review, only a realistic review of a busy surgeon who simply doesn't have time to \"bedside manner\" --- that was OK with me and wouldn't keep me from going to him again in a heartbeat if I needed him.
I will be meeting him for the first time on Tuesday the 12th. rnrn12-13-06rnI met with Dr. Khaili and his assitants yesterday and everyone at Cedars is so professional and courtious to your needs. The staff is on it and very freindly. He is definetly not a talker but to the point and proffessional. I really like that trait it shows he is a man of priority and purpose. I look forward to this surgery with full confidence in his staff and himself.
Dr. Khalili was the perfect match for me. He always had time to answer my questions, and always laughed at my jokes!rnrnHer is not the chattiest of guy -- He is a serious man, dedicated to the WLS division @ Cedars-Sinai in LA. However, he had a great sens eof humor and was quite compassionate. Even in pre-op -- when I had no questions -- he just shook my hand and rubbed my shoulder. I know it is \"Bedside Manner 101\" -- but he seemed quite sincere, and it was a great comfort.rnrnHe has done nearly 2000 procedures and has an incredible record. Simply stated, anyone considering WLS should consider Dr. Khalili and the program at Cedars-Sinai.
