Philip Floyd Bariatric Surgeon M.D.

Dr. Floyd is an awesome Dr. with a wondeful bedside manner. He answered all my questions and was kind and understanding about the questions that I had.

As far as his office staff goes, the ladies that answer the phone and wait on you when you get there are wonderful. They are very kind and quick to help.

I'm not wanting to be unkind, but there were others on staff that really messed up things for me in the beginning. My chart was lost twice, I had to send faxes in triplicate (no joke) The excuse was that it was hard to work with people that don't live in the area, yet there are many that come there that live even further away then I do, and I don't think they had the same problems.

My suggestion is that you be very involved with your care. Make sure that you follow up on promises that are made. I started my journey on July 13th and because of all the problems I didn't end up having my surgery until Dec 16.

Many others started their journey the same time and had their surgery by the end of August. So when considering this surgeon, first know that he is not an example of his staff, he is way better. And also know that I'm only talking about basically one person on staff that dropped the ball repeatily. Just make sure you follow up everything that is supposed to be done, especially if you live out of town.

Have not known Dr. Floyd long so I can't pass to much judgent on him, from what I have seen so far and talked with him I am very happy with my choice. He's very nice to talk to easy to understand and seems to very careing, as far as his staff they were very nice to me and made me fill like a person and that I was important not just a number.

11/27/04 Found a new surgeon, Dr. Floyd. met with him 11/15/04. He was very nice and answered all my questions. He made me feel very confortable. He does require a few Pre-surgery test, but thats not a big deal. Dr. Floyd informed me of the risks of the surgery, but explained to me like any surgery there are risk. He also let me know that it is very important to continue an on going aftercare program. I rate Dr. Floyd with a 98%. His staff was very nice and Kenny ( his Assitant) will be letting me know weather or not the insurance is approved or not and what I will do from here.Everything looks like it will be running real smooth from here. At least I pray that it does.

I liked Doctor Floyd from the first impression he seemed to be as excited about the surgery as I was, his staff has always been friendly, when I was unsure I was going to get my surgery due to having PVC's Doctor Floyd was there to reasure me and kept my hopes up. I have lost 40 lbs in 13 days with no problems what so ever. I personally would recommend Doctor Floyd to everyone needing this surgery, he's not only is a excellent surgen but he makes you feel improtant I don't know how to explain it but I never feared the surgery Doctor Floyd always made me feel everything was under control and there was nothing to fear. If I was to give him a score it would be a 100%, A+ perfect score I don't know how it could have been any better.

Dr. Philip floyd Will Be my surgeon.i met him on November 9th 2004 for the first time.He is a very nice Man who seems to be very caring.his office staff are also kind.i look forward to dr.floyd performing my surgery.he seems to be a very educated and dedicated doctor.i hope more people find this doctor as i did.

Dr. Floyd was very helpful and kind. I liked him right off and so did my sister who is going to use him as well. When we left we both discussed our visit with him and his staff and we both felt we were treated as if we were family. They didn't waste our time they got right on all the paper work and got things going. I would definitely tell others to use Dr. Floyd.

I was very nervous the first time I meet Dr. Floyd. I was told by my PCP that because of my body porportion (big butt large thights small waist)I was not a good candidate for any weight loss surgery. So my first question to Dr. Floyd when we meet was "Do I qualify to receive weight loss surgery. He said absolutely. Only at that point I began to relax.
My first impression of Dr. Floyd was good, but I can honestly say Kenny his nurse was wonderful. He answered all my questions. He made sure all my paperwork was in order and because of him my paperwork went smooth. This in turn caused me to get a speedy approval. I will have the opportunity to sit again with Dr. Floyd before my surgery. Afterwards I will be able to rate him overall and of course i'll share.

I REALLY ENJOYED MEETING DR. FLOYD. HE CAME INTO THE ROOM SMILING AND IN A GOOD MOOD. HE PUT ME AT EASE RIGHT AWAY. HE EXPLAINED THE PROCEDURE HE WOULD BE DOING IN DETAIL, WHAT COMPLICATIONS MAY ARISE FROM HAVING THE SURGERY. IM VERY CONFIDENT I MADE THE CORRECT DECISION CHOOSING HIM AS MY SURGEON. AFTER I MET WITH HIM HE SENT KENNY IN TO DISCUSS WHAT THEY NEEDED FROM ME, AS WELL AS THE TESTS THAT NEEDED TO BE SET UP, BEFORE WE WOULD APPROACH THE INSURANCE COMPANY. EVERYONE AT HIS OFFICE WAS VERY PLEASANT, AND HAVE BEEN EVERYTIME IVE CALLED. KENNY IS ALWAYS AVAILABLE TO TALK TO YOU, ALWAYS. IF YOU READ THE OTHER TESTIMONIALS ON THIS WEB SITE ABOUT DR. I first met Dr. Floyd at a seminar. He took time afterwards to answer question to anyone that had any. We spoke for about 10 mins and he answered all of my questions. His whole staff has been wonderful, keeping updated with the approval progress and getting all of my appointments taken care of.
I like Dr. Floyd very much, he understand the problems that come with dealing with obesity. He explained with great deal what he will do and what he expects me to do before and after surgery. I think he is really understands what we are going through and the risks. I have heard nothing but wonderful things about him and his office staff. As for Kenny!!! He is wonderful....he will be your saving angel.....

My first impression of Dr. Floyd was nervousness on my part! He immediately saw how nervous I was, shook my hand, introduced himself, and asked a lot of questions about my family, husband, and myself. We then discussed the procedure, hospital stay, etc. He answered all my questions, and was quite forward. It was 5pm by the time I was seen and even though it was close to closing time he was patient and thorough in helping me understand everything. He has a great bedside manner and seems to be quite knowledgable. When I asked about his credentials he was not offended and just proceeded to tell me about his experience. His nurses were friendly, polite, and always helpful, as well as the secretary at the front desk. The whole office worked as a team and were positive and friendly! Including Kenny who would be the one helping me with insurance approval. Dr. Floyd also was quite honest about how the surgery could and would help you lose weight but it would be up to you to maintain it and he expected you to attend a support group before the procedure and after.

Overall I would rate the complete experience a 9/10 for professionalism, manner, atmosphere, and care. It's rare to find someone as upfront, honest, competent, with a great manner.
