9/28/03 I met Dr Floyd while attending his WLS seminar in OKC in August. He is really cool! Very open and honest. I have every confidence in his skills and knowledge of the roux-en-y surgery. After I gathered it, his staff submitted all the paperwork to get me approved. A very special thanks to Frauke Davis who wrote an appeal letter on my behalf after orginally being denied.
11/21/03 Now that I am post op, I have to say that Dr. Floyd is definately the best! My husband said Dr Floyd came out and spoke to him right after surgery to let him know everything went perfectly. He came in to check on me every morning and was genuinely concerned about my progress, and my comfort level. He is so cheerful and sweet, I looked forward to seeing him! He assured me that I could stay in the hospital until I felt like going home.
It must be hard being a surgeon having to make rounds every day and still have a practice, but he does it with professionalism and grace. If I ever need another surgery, and it is within his scope of ability, he WILL be my surgeon. Thanks, Dr Floyd, for giving me my life back!
Doctor Floyd picked me, with the help of this web page through obesityhelp.com. He is my angel
My first visit with him I was so concerned about the cost. Doctor Floyd kept telling me, don't worry about the money, it's you I care about.
he seem to care about me, the patient and his staff seem to have his caring and goals. I have only meet him once and the next time I meet him, it will be, my life in his hands. I know this is a serious operation but the other doctors don't give me a year to live if this operations is not performed. my body can't handle anymore weight and I can't seem to lose it. So with gods help and doctor floyds help. maybe next year I will have some real photos for people to see. P.S.
I am scared, But I know my family and friends are behind me and I have a good surgeon by my side. and with gods help how can we miss
My first impression of Dr. Floyd, was that he seemed very knowledgeable of everything concerning the WLS.
My impression changed in the sense that he was not only knowledgeable but also a very kind and caring Dr.
The office staff is very professional, nice, and helpful.
Theres nothing to be said about disliking anything about him.
Dr. Floyd has performed over 300 of these type of surgeries. He is a knowledgeable and caring physician.
He stressed that there would be aftercare.
I would say that he does, but again, I have had only one follow-up visit at this point.
He takes the time to listen and educate any and every concern you may have concerning the surgery. He covered all bases that needed to be covered concerning the risks.
I would rate Dr. Floyd as an excellent Physician overall.
I believe the surgical competence and bedside manner are both very important.
I would also like to emphasize that these comments are my personal impressions and my own personal experiences. Thank You and God BLess.
Dr. Floyd is absolutely wonderful! I just love his straight forward attitude and I really believe that he enjoys helping people. His staff is also the best!! They know exactly what they are doing and exactly what needs to be done to get the desired result. You have to attend one of Dr. Floyd's seminars, they are very informative and you really get an idea of the type of doctor that he is. He is honest about the risks, but counters that with the risk of obesity. I'm really excited that he is my surgeon.
I have only met/seen Dr. Floyd at one of his seminars. He seemed very nice and caring. The people in his office are wonderful....very friendly. Frauke was instrumental in getting my insurance company approval in only 2 weeks. Surgery is scheduled for September 12. I meet personally with Dr. Floyd on September 11.
My first impression was a good one, he seemed very concerned and was very helpfull. He took his time during my appt. I didn't feel like he was in a hurry or was bored with my concerns or questions. His staff was very kind and helpfull. They made me feel like I was part of the family. Dr. Floyd was very presice with his after care instructions. He left no questioned unanswered. He went over with me step by step what to expect, the risks, the aftercare program, and support groups. My surgery is scheduled for August 29th and I feel very confident in his abilities as a surgeon. I feel everything he does is for my benefit and my best interest.
Dr. Floyd is a very nice surgeon. He is seems to be quiet and very observant. He realized how afraid I was a few days before surgery and was very helpful in helping me to feel better about the surgery. I know its hard to believe but I had very little pain and I do believe because of his pain management and of course prayer. My C-section was worse than this. He was very caring. I would rate him very high and his office staff are very nice.
I really thought Dr. Floyd knew what to tell me before I could ask. His bedside mannor was incredibly sweet and caring. He took his time and didn't rush me out of his office. He made me feel confident that I had made the right choice. I feel because a consultation with him is the LAST step before surgury,he didn't need to go over every single detail of what was involved. He did, however, make sure I was well informed.
