My first impression of Dr. Schmitt was that I had come to the wrong place. I thought because he was young that I needed to go else where. I then came to the conclusion that I was in good hands by the end of my consultation. I thak god for guiding his and his staffs hands the entire way. I haven't had any problems to this day. Dr. Schmitt has an excellent staff, they tend to do everything humanly possible to take care of you. When I got ready to leave the hospital the nurse came in to take my central IV out of my neck and she took one look at the stitches and said "Dr. Schmitt" I said how can you tell? She said by the stitches. He goes the extra mile when he sews you up. They let you know up front that there are a lot of risks in having this surgery. It is not the easy way out. The aftercare program has been realy good. I haven't done everything I should, but that isn't because of them. I would reccomend anyone to go to Medical Center East. I would say that surgical competence is not any more important than bedside manner. They both play a major role in how you feel before and after the surgery. That also has a direct bearing on how much better you try to take care of yourself after surgery.
My first impressions was very good. He explained everything in a manner that I understood. My impression remains the same, excellent surgeon. His staff is great. Great bedside manner. All risks of surgery were address to my satisfaction. I rate him a big "o" 10 Both urgical competence and bedside manner are equal.
My first impression of Dr. Schmitt was positive and still is positive. He really believes in what he does and wants to help the morbidly obese. He is very approachable, and does not try to seperate himself from the crowd, as he demonstrated at the seminar. He has a no-nonsense approach to doing this. By the time you have jumped through all the hoops prior to surgery, you have the satisfaction of knowing that it is something you really want to do, and that you did not rush into it lightly. This is all I can say so far. I will post more as I learn it.
1. He was direct but nice.
2.He is even nicer than I first thought. Being a nurse, I am aware of Drs little whims but I could tolerate any if he has them.
3.The staff is extremely nice. They a helpful, polite and cheerful. Especially DEBORAH!!!!
4.Nothing so far. He looks young. He looks good too.
5.He has your best intrestin mind and practice.
6.Alot.
7.Yes
8.He was straight forward about any risks involved.
9.On a scale of 1-10 I would rate him a 9+.
10.BOTH
My first impression of Dr. Schmitt was man he is young. But it didn't take long to know that he really knows his stuff. His office staff seems very busy but Debra in the insurance area was GREAT! I only have seen Dr Schmitt once after mt surgery and that was at my one week checkup. I saw his nurse practitioner for my 3 month and 6 month check up. I'm sure he's too busy doing surgery to do much of the follow up stuff. I wish he would at least do the 6 month follow up so everyone would believe he cares about us. I believe he is a great surgeon. I have had no complications so far. I believe his surgical competence is a 10.
I felt totally comfortable with Dr. Schmitt and his staff from the first visit. My husband asked me if I was sure that I wanted to still have the surgery and I told him that I would follow Dr. Schmitt to the operating room right then.
I love his friendly caring staff and I have seen how they consistantly go above and beyond the call of duty. Every staff member was well informed and they answered all of my questions. They were well-organized and discussed all the risks and emphasized the importance of the aftercare program.
Overall, I have been truly blessed with my experience and would reccommend Dr. Schmitt to anyone who is considering the surgery. I rate him with a 10 plus infinity!!!!!!!!
My first impression of Dr. Schmitt was that he looks to be young. The more I talked to him about the surgery, I could tell that he has a great deal of knowlege and was able to answer all of my questions. He stress the importance of all the after care that I would be needing, and about the protein supplements being very important. His office staff was really great. I would recommend him and his staff to anyone considering having the surgery.
My 1st impression of Dr. Lee Schmitt was that here was a happy doctor who loves to help people get healthy! Very positive attitude! Good listener, and thorough on imformation, also very straight forward about risks and how important it is to follow what you are guided to do.
The office staff was professional, helpful, and imformative; also very patient!!
There wasn't anything I didn't like about Dr. Schmitt, except he didn't come and check on me while I was in the hospital, but that was because he wasn't there! In his stead was his buddy, Dr. Rollins who was very pleasant, thorough, and cautious about care (I had a leak on the table that was repaired). He was there every day!
For future patients, I would have every confidence with Dr. Schmitt-he will test for leakage BEFORE closing you up and getting you off the table. My scars even look great!
Yes. there is a nicely structured aftercare program. And you are invited to call if there are any questions at all.
Dr. Schmitt was very upfront about the risks of having surgery, and about the risks of not having surgery; plain spoken, but great bed side manner, and good listener.
Dr. Schmitt is excellent, excellent, excellent!!
I would say that Dr. Schmitt's bedside manner, handling of patients, and surgical competence are fantastic!
