My first impression of Dr Schmitt was a good one. He has a trusting look to himself, he also is very concern about his patients he makes sure (thru his office) that you know what your going to do and you fully understand what can go wrong and that this is not just a simple surgery and things can go wrong.
Schmitt, office staff is just wonderful and one of the harding working people in business.
Nov. 23, 2002 I met Dr. Schmitt today at a RNY seminar. He seems very knowledgeable about bariatric surgery. I am calling for an appt. with him.
Dec. 18, 2002 I have had my first consultation with Dr. Schmitt. I liked him a lot. He was very interested in what I had to say and thought. He says I am a good candidate for the RNY surgery.
I really liked Dr. Schmitt's personality and forwardness and honesty. I felt from the moment that I saw him at the seminar that he was going to be the man, who would change my life forever. Since meeting with him in his office, I have only grown to respect him more, and pray the next time I see him he is in scrubs and ready to change my life!
My first impression of mim was that he was a warm person. To tell the truth I was little reluctant because he is very young. His office staff is very nice, especially Deborah the biatric cordinador. She was very helpful. You just needed to go there and she did the rest of the work.I definitely recommend Dr. Schmitt and all his staff.
All risk and aftercare was explained. His surgical competence is great and also his bedside manner. I rate him on a scale of 1 to 10 a 10 definitely. He's the best.
Dr.Schmitt was at one of the support meetings. I was very impressed with him, he didn't sugar coat anything about this sugery he told everything that can go wrong, all the risk of having any surgery.
I have faith in him as a doctor & to me that meanes alot in a speedy recovery,& nothing has changed my impressionof anything sence my first doctors visit in oct.
Dr.Schmitt has a very good staff of nurses working with him ,they make you feel very special& important.I have no complaint at all.
I would recomend for him & his staff to anyone thinking about having Gastric Bypass Sugery, and Medical Center East would be my reconmendition of the hospital to go to.
Dr.Schmitt & his staff makes very sure that you know everything you need to know before , during & after surgery what to do & what to expect, they give you a list of things you can do and things you can't do & the outcome if you don't do as your told. I feel if anything bad happens it's a good chance the patient didn't follow directions.
Dr. Schmitt is a very caring person. He makes me feel comfortable. And so far i feel the same i got a email from a lady that he did this surgery on & she tells me I couldn't have picked a better hospital than MCE or a better doctor. That made me feel alot better.
Also all of his office staff was very nice.
So far I'm very pleased.
All I can tell anyone is what I know about him, & That is, I like him and have heard nothing but good things about.
He has been to the support group meetings & told all the pros. & cons about this surgery and emphasized hightly on aftercare. It's very structured aftercare program.
HE told all that could happen, One in 200 may die, the possabilty of leaking, and everything else that could happen.
I can't commite on his bedside manner sence I haven't been there yet.
I was very comfortable weth him & he's did alot of gastric bypass surgery's.
more relaxed about it all.
Very informative& supportive they made me feel comfortable.
Can't think of anything.
I think he's a very good doctor, but this is the only time I'v ever been to him.
alot & yes he has a good support team. That can help you with whatever questions you may have.
He told all the risk involved in detail.
on a scale from 1 to 10 I'd say 10.
well as I haven't had my surgery yet I can't answer that question just now.
