My first impression of Dr. Schmitt was a good one. He seemed nicer in person than he did at the seminar. He was warm and relaxed and took time to answer all of my questions. The visit was quick but information filled. Despite everything I had heard about the staff, everyone was warm and friendly. Chris helped me since Deborah was out and she was very nice. Everyone was patient and laid back. I am happy to report that my consult was a pleasant experience.

My first impression of him was that he looked to young. He is very attentive and answers all your questions. His staff is very warm and ready to help' especially his bariactric coordinator' she is great. You just give her the needed info and she does all the work. Dr. Schmitt is very thorough and has great bedside manners. He emphasizes that aftercare is crucial. He explained all the risk of sugery' before agreeing to do my surgery. I rate him a 10 on a scale of 1 to 10. His surgical competence is great. I've had no complications.I am very happy with Dr. Schmitt and his staff.I would highly recommended him.

HE DID THE SEMINAR MY HUSB AND I ATTENDED IN THE FALL. I LIKED THAT HE WAS VERY STRAIGHT FORWARD WITH HIS ANSWERS.

WHEN WE WENT FOR THE INITIAL VISIT I THINK THAT HE SEEMED RUSHED AND MAYBE HE WAS.

THEY WERE VERY NICE, BUT DEBRA WAS VERY PERSONABLE. I LIKED THAT!!

HE SEEMED RUSHED AND LIMITED THE VISIT.
DR. SCHMITT IS YOUNG,TALL,AND SLIM.

I DON'T REMEMBER MUCH OF OUR CONVERSATION.

HE DID EMPHASIZE SUPPORT GROUPS. THEY DO HAVE A VERY ACTIVE AFTERCARE PROGRAM AT MEDICAL CENTER EAST.

YES. HE DID DISCUSS RISKS.

TYPICAL SURGEON...BUT HE IS STILL MY CHOICE!! I APPRECIATE AN AIR OF CONFIDENCE. HE MADE ME FEEL LIKE HE KNEW WHAT HE WAS DOING!!

I'LL TAKE COMPETENCE ANYDAY. I CAN OVERLOOK ANYTHING ELSE.

My first impression of Dr. S was that he was really young to be doing this. I only really saw him 2 times before my surgery, Iwas a little scared, but decided I would die soon anyway. He was very warm and understanding. He went an extra mile for me. His staff is very nice, especially his biatric coordinator. She is just wonderful. If you are considering having surgery with Dr.S go ahead I definetely recommend him and his staff. All the risks wre addressed to me I knew what I was getting into. I rate him a 10 on a scale of 1-10.

I first met Dr. Schmitt while attending a bariatric surgery information seminar at Medical Center East. Dr. Schmitt was the key speaker. I was immediately impressed with his humility. In fact, he described the technical aspect of surgery as something a "well trained monkey" could do, stressing the importance of patient knowledge, post-op support, nutritional compliance and follow-up care. He explained the risks and potential complications in detail.

My second meeting with him, during my first appointment, confirmed my initial impression. I find him to be humble, compassionate and technically thorough.

The office staff is incredible. Debra Gray is AWESOME! She did everything to expedite the whole pre-approval process for me. She was thorough in letting me know what needed to be done on my part. Chris is fantastic. She is INTENSE in her efforts to make sure the office does everything to follow through prior to surgery.

The biggest reason for my comfort in going forward with this surgery is the fantastic program in place for support led by Rona Scott. Rona, having had WLS, is a survivor/fighter who is relentless in her care for WLS advocacy and education. She has been there, done that, and will see to it that everyone is made to feel whole, complete and accepted AS THEY ARE! A straight-shooter, who along with her supportive husband, formed one of the best support groups and educational programs in the country!

I have been very pleased with each and every dealing I have had with Dr. Lee Schmitt and his office. After attending his required informational meeting I called to make my initial appointment. Everything about the path so far has been very smooth and easy. My favorite thing about Dr. Schmitt (& his partner, Dr. Miles) is that they stress patient education and aftercare. I am the type person who wants to know everything about something before I sign up. I feel aware and prepared for my surgery on March 20, 2003.
