I thought he was a nervous person.
He is just a very busy surgeon.
Staff knows the ins and outs.
He talks too fast.
He is very confident.
He emphasizes aftercare.
There is an entire program in effect at that hospital that is very structured.
He makes sure that you speak with a Psych Dr.
I would say that he is a success.
Surgical competence is Best.
I THOUGHT HE WAS VERY LAID BACK.HIS OFFICE SCHEDULED A DURGERY DATE WITHIN 3 MONTHS AND I WAS STILL ON YHE WAITING LIST FOR ALMOST A YEAR OF ANOTHER PHYSICIAN.i FELT AT TIMES HE WAS HURRIED BUT ANSWERED ALL QUESTIONS COMPLETELY AND WITHOUT RUSHING.HIS OFFICE STAFF WAS VERY HELPFUL.THERE REALLY WAS NOTHING I DIDN'T LIKE.AFTERCARE WAS ADEQUATE.HE WAS HONEST IN THAT THE SURGERY HAD RISKS BUT FELT SO DID MORBID OBESITY.I WOULD RATE HIM AS EXCELLENT. SURGICAL COMPETENCE IS BETTER. I AM AN RN AND DIABETIC.I HAD THE SURGERY TO AVOID INSULIN REGIME. I AM NOW OFF ALL DIABETIC MEDS AND SHOW NORMAL GLUCOSE READINGS.
My first impression of Dr.Hodinott was this is a guy who knows about this surgery! I really can't say anything negative about him. He exceeded my expectations. He drew pictures for my husband and I to understand exactly what was doing to happen. He was open to all my questions and welcomed them really. I saw him in April 2003 and had a date of June 24th 2003. He saw me 2 weeks prior to the surgery. I had a long list of questions and he answered them very patiently. When he came in I could tell that I had his undivided attetion. He spoke with me before surgery and during my recovery room time also. He came to see me while in the hospial also. Kevin is very big on pre and post care. He gave me heprin shots to prevent blood clots. When I went home, I had some pain from these shots and also necka and back pain from anesth. I called him at 1;00am and he called back within 10 min.I was completely taken back as was my husband! He really wants you to listen to him only. He gives you guidelines for all intake of food. He did have me on pureed food for 6 weeks. My doctors don't do this but I saw in the long run that it helped me. After 2 weeks he took my staples out. He did have me wear an elastic band for about a month. This contraption was a life savor. It gave my insicion alot of support. I had complete tust in Dr,Hoddinott and would recommend he to anyone looking for a caring doctor. HE does about 6 of these surgeries a week. When I went back for my 6 month checkup, he remebered me! I thought that was impressive. When I went for that visit he had a protein powder that he found for sale. He actually tested different powders because he patients could find one that didn't have an after taste! He even had some made up for me to taste. I did research and he sold the powder for less than what I could buy on the web.
As I said he is a great doctor and I really do like him!
I was impressed with Dr. Hoddinott from the start. He is very straight forward and honest, and also has a great sense of humor. He made me feel very comfortable and not like I had some horrible contagious disease. He didnt hide any of the side effects. Everyone at the office is wonderful. I didnt have to deal with my insurance company at all. They took care of everything. After the surgery if I had any questions, I never felt like I was a bother when I called them. I have sent 4 other people to Dr. Hoddinotts office. I do have to refresh his memory a little bit when I go for checkups, but that doesnt bother me since he has so many patients.
I had a very good first impression of him. He explained everything in detail to me and did not seem rushed. He was very matter of fact and did not make me feel ashamed at all. I really liked his confidence. That put me at ease a lot. The office staff was very professional. I had quite a wait in the waiting room because he was running behind but i didn't mind. There were several of us in the waiting room and it gave me a chance to ask all the questions I wanted to ask. And every single person said they would definitely do it again. It was actually kind of funny because when Dr. Hoddinott asked if I had any questions I told him I did but everyone in the waiting room already answered them for me.
Wonderful, caring physician. Extremely dedicated. A great "listener". Does not rush you through a visit. Great bedside manner.
The office staff is incredible. You will not find a better group of people to deal with. Extremely understanding and patient.
Very personable.
Direct, does not hide the facts. explains everything.
Emphasizes aftercare strongly.
There is a structured aftercare program associated with the hospital.
He addresses the risks matter of factly. Nothing hidden. No scare tactics, just blunt facts.
Dr. Hoddinott is rated an eleven on a scale of 1-10
You definitely want competence; however, in Dr. Hoddinott, you get both.
Very Frindly and explained everything.I had a list of questions and never had to ask he covered it all. My impression of dr. Hoddinott only got better over time. The staff is great, and even a person answers the phone. I felt completly safe in his care afterall he had my life in his hands. He is very caring and a warm person.
