I waited over 6 months to review his care. I couldn't be more pleased with his medical skill and care, his bedside manner, his abilities to make you relax and be at ease. A friend of mine is also his pt and had a problem with scar tissue rebuilding (not a new issue with this patient) and Dr H. is quick to respond to the issues at hand. When he's with you, you feel like the only patient he has. He is busy...but he pays attention to you and is quick to answer questions and explain procedures. He is also proactive where some problems COULD be by dealing with them BEFORE they can become an issue. As a critical care worker for over 15 years I appreciate that in him. In my career I've seen good docs and bad docs...Dr H is great. I'd recommend him fully.

* What was your first impression of him/her?
He was very nice, laid back.
* How did your impression change over time?
Being nice doesn't make a good dr.
* How would you describe his/her office staff? helpful and nice before surgery, not so much after...
* What did you like least about him/her?
He ignored surgical infections saying it will go away on its own.
* What should future patients know about him/her? He is only aval. Monday and Fridays wed-thurs he has surgery's if you get released on a sunday try and stay till monday the only place that sells the pain medication he gives is franks pharmacy and they are closed sundays. So get your pain meds before surgery so that you will have it or you will have to go with a lower pain med till the next day.

* Does he/she have a structured aftercare program? No
* How did he/she address the risks of surgery? Sign a waver before surgery

Dr. Hoddinott made me feel very comfortable at our first visit. I had my first RNY in Nov. 2003 with another surgeon which was very successful and I lost 160lbs. in the last few years I started regaining when I reached 50lbs I looked into choices I might have to correct this before I regained anymore. A simple sulotion for me was available as I had other complications which required surgical interventions so after seeing Dr. Hoddinott and having an EGD surgery was scheduled for the 13th of Aug. so today I am 3 wks post op have lost 21+lbs since my first conselation with my Dr. He was attentive while I was at the hosp. and has been available for any problems since that time. Very pleased and happy with my choice in surgeon's.
When I first met Dr. Hoddinott, I liked him & felt he was very knowledgeable & informative. My impressions are still the same a year later. His office staff is wonderful! I admit to start with I was scared to go with him because he just moved down here & I couldn't find that much info on him. In my opinion though I feel he was my best choice. He strongly emphasizes aftercare. He addresses all the risks of surgery. Since nobody is perfect I would have to rate him a 9 overall. He also has great bedside manners. These are my personal impressions of my own personal experience & I am not making any statements about what other people may experience.
My first impression was relief. Finally someone willing to help me, not just tell me to exercise and watch what I eat.rnOffice staff were alway kind and willing to say how good you looked after surgery, even if they didn't remember you.rnDr. Hoddinott was always there for me, till he moved to Florida, he always cared about me. I was not just another patient.rnHe told me all about the risk I was about to take but I knew I had a better chance in his hands than I did in my own.rnOver all I would rate him a 99/100. He lost 1 point because he left Bethlehem,PA (he blamed it on his wife wanting to move)and moved to Florida. (I miss you Dr. Hoddinott)rnI can honestly say I never told another man I loved them, other than my father, but I must say that I told Dr. Hoddinott that I loved him, and after 7 years I still love him, and wil ALWAYS LOVE HIM. However, I am still mad at him for leaving me and moving to Florida. I miss him so much.rnBPD w/ DS lost 150 lbs and kept it off for 7 years so far.rnMike Kehoe
