WONDERFUL! Words can not describe Dr. Chung and his staff. All I can say is wonderful. They informed me of all the risks and benefits of the surgery. I feel confident in the coice of Doctor and will never regret my decision. I would recommend Dr. Chung & his staff to anyone considering this surgery. On a scale of 1-10 I would give Dr. Chung & his staff a 10! They are the most wonderful people you can ever meet!

I am very impressed with Dr. Chung and his staff. They answered any question I had. Marcie was always there, day and night, if I needed to call with a question or problem. The Doctor and staff seem like they truley car about their patients. I was told of the risks and benefits and any and all questions were answered. It's the best decision I ever made. I am so glad I chose Dr. Chung and his program as I already said he truley cares about his patients and has set up a wonderful support system with his newsletters, support groups, and online program. I would and have already recommended Dr. Chung and his staff to other people and will do so in the future. I would definetly rate Dr. Chung and staff a 10 on a scale on 1-10. They always give encouragement at every visit and will do their very best to make you feel good and comfortable. Having the surgery and choosing Dr. Chung was the best thing I've ever done. I have lost almost 130lbs. in 9 months and countless inches. I've gone from a size 24 to a size 8. (almost in a size 6)

Dr Chung and Marcy have been great. I know I can call with problems at any hour and actually talk to someone. I was very well informed about the risks of the surgery. He has a great competence and bed side manner.

The first impression that I had of Dr. Keith Chung was that he was friendly. He spoke very frankly and honestly. He described the differences in the LAP Band and the RNY Bypass. He was honest about the risks and expectations after surgery. I would rank him a 10 on a scale of 1 - 10 with 10 the highest.

My feeling/thoughts about him remained true and felt reinforced after the next couple of meetings with him.

His office staff are Awesome. They are courteous, friendly, and quick to find the answers to any question that you may have.

Marcy, his nurse, is wonderful. She takes call 24/7 and is available at any time to soothe your worries. I know because I had to call her at 1:00pm on a Sunday two weeks after surgery.

Aftercare - weighing, support groups, protein, vitamins, and following your diet are stressed. The support group meetings are held once a month at the doctors office with him in attendance.

No matter how friendly he is, surgical competence is all that truly matters in the end. He defintely has that in my opion and he truly cares about what happens to his patients. So he has both surgical competence and a healthy dose of great bedside manner.

Dr. Chung is a Houdini in the operating room. If he didn't have witnesses, I would not believe that he had actually done anything more than draw very tiny incision lines on my belly. I had absolutely NO postoperative pain. I went back to my room and was up and visiting with family within hours of my operation. I actually was released from the hospital after just 24 hours. I can't say enough about Dr. Chung as a surgeon. He did all the work. Surgery was a breeze for me. As for his office staff, Marcie did all the work. I must admit that I did NOTHING to aid in gaining insurance approval. I was denied for certification on first request, but a well worded appeal by Marcie and Dr. Chung, along with excellent documentation by Mr. Gary Viscio (obesity advocacy attorney - www.obesitylawyers.com) overturned the denial. I have been very impressed with the ease of the surgery and it is undoubtedly due to the fact that I went in with a positive attitude and followed all of their very detailed instructions to a fault. This surgery has been effortless on my part and I have no question that Dr. Chung and his staff are one of the best Bariatric teams in the country. Thank you for giving me my life back.

Showed to be caring to his paitents. Down to earth. Will talk to you on a one to one bases. He has a super nurse that is always there for you when you need her to answer questions. NO RECORDER OR ANSWER SERVICE. The more we knew him and the staff the more we knew we found the right place. Sometimes you do have trouble but if your patient it will all come together. It might take some time. There are support group meetings every month. They are very informative. I think they give you a informative lecture on the problems and risk of sugery not to hide anything. I rate Dr. Chung and his staff with A+ + + + + + + + + +. Cannot get any better service. Great surgery and bedside manners. Have enjoyed dealing with Dr. Chung and his staff. They're like a big Family.
It was the best disicion I made in my life. I lost 132 pounds in one year. Although I did have alot of problems with restriction at first. Had to be stretched opened 14 times but finally the scar tissue got right and finally started staying open. Enjoying life better than ever. Thanks Dr. Chung and Marcie!!!!! Calvin Vincent

My name is John I had the gastric bypass 12/18/03 almost a year ago I have lost about 79#. This probably does not sound like a lot of weight in a year but it was, let me tell you, it has made a big difference in my life. Before i had the surgery I had diebiets and severe arthritis. I had to take advandia for my diebiets and shots twice a week for my arthritis. I do not have to take the advandia any more and I get only 1 injection a week now. this surgery, as Dr. Chung and Marcie will tell you is a seriuos procedure and does change your whole life for ever. I was a size 52 in the waist and now I'm a size 36. at one point I weight 297 pounds and I now weight 218. I can move about so much easier now and have alot more energy. I also had sleep apnia and would stop breathing due to my air way being blocked off when my muscles in my throat would relax. My wife would have to wake me up because she was scared that I was dead that was pretty bad. My wife can atest to it being well worth it, just because I do not snore any more.I also had a problem being put to sleep due to my no neck problem due to being so obese Dr. Chung and Marcie pick at me about that, you can ask them about it when you talk to them again. I had my surgery at the Womens and Children's hospital in Lake Charles La. I had to stay a extra day at the hospital because I lost some blood during surgery. Other than that, It was no problem. Yes my stomach was sore it felt like I did a 1,000 sit ups. It only lasted a couple of weeks. As far as the eating the soft liquid diet was the worst. It was a total of about 3 weeks. I only had a problem with eating too fast and not chewing my food well enough. This would cause the food to block up at the exit of the new pouch because it did not have time to digest. The result would be that it would pile up and I would throw it up. I did that about 5 or 6 times and that was enough for me to learn my leason. Marcie was a big help and was availabie 24 hours a day. I had to call her at 3:00 am due to a muscle spasm. They took good care of me (Thanks alot.) If I had to do it agian, I would do it again in a heart beat. Matter of fact I have reffered several people to Dr. Chung. In fact my loving wife is having it almost a year after I did Dec. 21. I can not tell you how much it has mad a deffernce in my life Thanks again Marcie and Dr. Chung for giving me a whole new life!!!!!!!! If any of you are thinking of having the procedure done and would like to email me my email address is [email protected] i would be glad to answer any question or share more about my own story with you...............................................................

my first impression of him was great, he was really outgoing, friendly, and willing to take the time that i needed.
it didn't change..i still feeel he is a great doctor.
His staff was awesome. they were there for me to talk to day or night.
Some times when i was upset about something he made jokes about, my husband thought it was the funniest thing.

In a word...delightful. He and his staff made me feel comfortable, informed, and I left without any question that Dr Chung is is capable and supportive. He is just starting the lap band, but has been doing the gastric bypass for some time now. He is in it for the person not the paycheck. The downside (for me) is that I have to lose 20lbs to get my body ready for the surgery. This proves to me that my health is his top concern. Marcie and Amy are sweethearts and are truly blessings. They do whatever they can to help you. So far...so good!

i was dr.chung's first patient in lake charles. i guess i should have been scared or worried, but dr.chung and his staff seemed very well studied and confident that they could do my surgery successfully. they were extremely friendly and accomodating. my first impression of them only gets better as time goes by. he has a lot of new patients and i've only heard good things from them. you should know that he expects you to follow up after your surgery, he really cares how you are doing personally. he has a support group meeting once a month. he was upfront with me about the risks of the surgery, but there were more risks if i chose not to have it. i realize that i haven't put anything negative about dr. chung, but i honestly can't think of anything that i would change about him.
