I thought he was the most unique Dr i had ever met. (reason) He let me know that day i was by far too large to risk the surgery he asked me to lose 30-40 pounds for him then come back. That day i knew he would be my surgeon. I did what he asked in 3 months I will never regret choosing Dr Chung. He is a wonderful Dr with a wonderful staff God sent him to me. I will forever hold him in my heart. There is nothing bad to say about him. Future patients should know he is wonderful he is a very good surgeon and I would go anywhere he ask me to go to support him. aftercare program is wonderful.
He let me know every risk from day one.
on a scale of 1-10 a 20
both are great

My first impression of Dr. Chung was that he was open and honest. He told me everything good and bad about gastric bypass. My impression of him has not changed. I like the fact that he has a good sense of humor, and always takes the time to answer your questions. His staff is super....Always helpful and thoughtful. He is a strong advocate of a continued followup or aftercare program. He does not want you to have the surgery and then go on your merry way. He truely wants you to get the best results possible and to be as healthy as possible in the process. Dr. Chung was very frank as he addressed the risks of surgery, very open about the possible risks associated with the surgery. I felt he wanted me to make an informed decision regardless of what choice I made about the surgery. He is competent, has a great bedside manner and on a scale of 1 to 10 I would rate him a 20+. The things that I had to learn after the surgery was to eat slowly, chew, chew, chew and don't mix liquids and solids at the same time.

I could tell he was really dedicated to what he does. My impression didn't change over time, he is really and truly dedicated to what he does. The office staff is wonderful, couldn't ask for a better support system. There is nothing I don't like about him. If you are considering having this surgery I wouldn't choose any other Dr to do it, you can just tell that he is the best as soon as he starts talking about it. Aftercare is just as good as the actual surgery itself, there is service after the sell. Yes, there are monthly suppport meetings and you can call them night or day with any concerns or problems. He told me all of the risk of having surgery. I would rate him as one of the best Dr's I have ever come across. You need both to be a good Dr and he has both.

My first impression was really good. His office seemed very friendly and seemed to know what they were doing. My impression over time hasnt changed much, the office is still extemely friendly and willing to help. They offered a lot of advice about what i should do before and after the surgery. Overall i am very pleased with the outcome of the surgery. i have ZERO! complications. *knock on wood*.

Dr. Chung was very knowledgable and very supportive. His staff was also great. They were there every step of the way. He talked to my family for about 2 hrs after the surgery to reassure them and talked plain English to them not medical terms. One night around 1:00 o'clock in the morning my back was hurting really bad (not from the surgery but from my weight and laying on a hard metal slap for 3 hrs and you know how hospital beds are) anyway the nurse called him told him I was in pain he was there in 5 minutes. Marcie his nurse was there after my surgery and was visiting with my family also and had brought a beautiful bouquet of flowers. Between her and Dr. Chung you couldn't have a better team. They told me to call if I had any questions or problems at all any time of the day or night and they always answered the phone. If I had to do it all over again I would go with them again. God has truly blessed me with Dr. Chung and Marcie. Thank you

I had the privelage of having my surgery performed by the best surgeon in the nation, Dr. Keith Chung. He and his assistant, Marcie, are are the most down to earth and caring professionals I've ever come in contact with in the medical field. They have a genuine concern for their patients and are always available any time I have questions or concerns. They have monthly support group meetings that are very informative and helpful in the aftercare process along with their "open door" policy that allows his patients to drop in any time or their 24 hr/7 day a week access by phone. They were very thorough and up front in informing me of any risks or complications that could occur. I would rate Dr. Chung a "10" as I was very pleased with both his surgical competence and his bedside manner. I would highly recommend Dr. Chung to perform this operation to anyone considering it due to his expertise in this type of surgery and the personal care and attention he gives his patients. I haven't had any problems or complications since having the surgery and can eat and drink anything I choose without any problems. I am blessed to have had such a wonderful experience through this whole process and I am thankful to Dr. Chung and Marcie for all they have done to make this possible.

To say that Dr. Chung leaves an impression is an understatement. Meeting with Dr. Chung and his team, especially Marcie, is probably the first time many of us will feel comfortable with our decision to have or to look into weight loss surgery. They explain each type of weight loss surgery and discuss how Gastric Bypass can help you. Dr. Chung and Marcie are an unbeatable team together and both contribute so much to the entire process from preoperatively to postoperatively, which is almost more important that the procedure itself. As a nurse, I know the value of being well-informed BEFORE and AFTER having the procedure - the time and care put into their booklets alone are amazing. These guys are very structured and have done their homework. What is most impressive is that they have found a perfect blend of being compassionate and funny while still maintaining the magnitude and seriousness of a procedure like Gastric Bypass. Afterwards, Marcie is a 24 hour on-call friend you can talk to and laugh about what is happening to your body in terms of literally losing all your clothes and and other great experiences. Bottom line is that I felt that this team cared at each step, I was well-informed, I was well cared for and would recommend them to anyone, without reservation.

I want everyone to know that Dr Chung is a wonderful Dr. He is there for you through everthing and even there for you after the surgery for as long as you need him. The support group meetings are wonderful. There is not any question that he can not answer. If there is Marcie will find the answer for you. I think that they are all wonderful.

On first impression I have to agree with Brinda F. Dr. Chung is how do you say it? A delectible piece of protien. He is a very funny, wonderful person and an incrediable surgeon and has a way of growing on you. His program faciltated by himself and his awesome assistant, Marcie is so thorough and informative. They carefully walk you through all phases and they help to make sure that you understand that which is happening, and going to happen. The time that they spend with you, preparing you for that which is to come is unmatched. They make you feel so good about yourself and so empowered. It has never been a shameful thing to be obese when in their company. It is one of those places where you can let it all hang out and feel totally comfortable. They take you for who you are and treat you with dignity and respect.

They have wonderful seminars before surgery and a very dedicated support group for you after surgery. Marcie also takes call 24 hours daily, and if you ever have to leave a message, her calls are returned within a few minutes. She is so wonderful to deal with very knowlegable and dedicated to the program. She really goes to battle for you in every way possible. She has what it takes to get through all the red tape. I have never had a doubt about choosing their program over any other, the others simply do not measure up. I would recommend Obesity Surgery Center to anyone and everyone in the area. For more information go to www.obesitysurgeryla.com, their web site is also very helpful. Simply put they are "The Only Choice!" Whether or not I am able to have the surgery, I will always consider them to be key people in my life. I look forward to a long and rewarding relationship with them both.

My name is Brinda F.

My surgeon's name is Dr. Keith Chung of Lake Charles, Louisiana.

My first impression of Dr. Chung was that he appeared to be a healthy- specimen , of a man, and he seemed to be very serious , but cheerful.

I maintained by first impression of him throught the pre-op and Post-op time.

The office staff is so nice and professional.
I never felt like ,just an number or diagnosis, as I have some other places.
I felt comfortable and at ease when communicating with Dr. Chung and his staff.

The information given pre and post-operatively, is concisely compiled and well illustrated , anyone is able to understand it.

Marcie is a blessing, to any patient. She works so well with Dr. Chung and the Patients.

Future patients of Dr. Chung should know that he is very thorough and very honest with his patients. He will let his patients know about the risks and the benefits of impending surgery, in a no nonsense manner.
He takes his patients and their health very seriously. Dr. Chung will not endanger his patients , just to make the money for the surgery.

Dr. Chung and his staff emphasize the importance of aftercare and compliance to suggestions and instructions given.

The aftercare programs are well structured and informative.

I was considered a High-Risk for surgery because of my medical history. Dr. Chung made this very clear to me. After receiving clearance from my primary-care physician and other specialists, Dr. Chung decided to do the surgery. I was made aware of the risks.
I chose to take the chance for a better quality life.

I am so pleased that I did. With the Help of our creator and Dr. Chung I feel that I am well on my way. My surgery was March 19, 2004, I am five weeks Post-Surgery and have never felt better. I am down two dress sizes and am well pleased.

Overall I would rate my Surgeon as one of the best in the country. His technique provided me with barely any discomfort , after surgery. I was definitely suprised , as to how little pain I experienced Post-surgery.

Dr. Chung's surgical competence and beside manner are number ONE , my book!

You "can take that to the BANK!
