Dr. Chung and his staff are FANTASTIC, they are the most caring people that I have ever met in the medical field.
He is a wonderful surgeon, and has great bedside manners.
His aftercare program is excellent. He personally attends all aftercare meetings and he and Marci make you feel very comfortable and never rushed.
He is very honest about the risks and extremely cautious about testing pre-op.
I would recommend Dr. Chung to any and everyone.
I think dr. Chung and Marci are the BEST!
Sincerely,
Brenda Heitman
Dr. Chung is great. He is funny, easy to talk to and the people in his office are wonderful. I had heard many patients, nurses etc tell stories of how he performs "magic" with his hands in surgery and now I too am a believer. He is excellent with follow up care and seems truly to care about his patients. I would recommend him highly.
Dr Chung is young, but came highly recommended from a lot of people who had surgery for many different reasons. He is very easy-going and likes to joke. He is very serious about WLS and very competent. I am very funny about letting just anyone perform mafor surgery on me or minor surgery for that matter. I felt perfect peace about my choice once made. His staff is really great about answering any questions you may have about WLS. They are very easy to reach and after surgery his nurse is available 24/7 for any complications or problems you may have. They stress the importance of aftercare for WLS. We also have support group meetings once a month for WLS patients. I would highly recommend Dr. Chung for anyone considering WLS. He definely has the surgical competence and great bedside manners!
my first visit with him was very short. but after I read through all the info I realized this guy was very serious. there is no room for uncertainties. this surgery is very serious and so was he.
my feelings changed when I read all of his information about the surgery. there are things he requires his patients do before surgery. he is very strict about this. I didn't like that at first, but now I know why he was so strict.
the office staff is very nice. very informative and helpful.
if you are serious about the surgery, he can help you, if you qualify. but don't go to him if you haven't researched or if you are not willing to make sacrifices before and after the surgery.
aftercare is very important. his staff is very helpful and so is he. you will definately need aftercare and should ask about it before you make your final decision. do not think that you can do this alone. the doctor and his staff must be there for you before and after. so many things can go wrong.
he did address the risks of the surgery. as a matter of fact I was really terrified after I heard all the things that could go wrong. and one should be told by one's doctor of all the things that can go wrong, not just the good.
very professional, very concerned about my safety and longterm health.
surgical competence is tops. bedside manner was ok.
these are my feelings as a post op patient. my surgery went very well. but you should know that things can go very wrong. and there are things you must know before the surgery. you could die. you could be very sick for a long time after. you will need help after, from friends and family. your doctor should tell you this. if he does not, then you should find another one.
Dr.Chung ia a great surgeon. I had no complications after surgery and I never really felt any serious pain. Marcie( his assistant) is also really great. She was able to answer almost every question I had. It does seem like they could use a little more help in the office, I think business is picking up fast for them. they stressed the risks of surgery and they do provide a good aftercare program. My stitches are already almost gone. I knew Dr.Chung was an artist when it comes to stitching from a previous surgery. His surgical skills are perfect. I am happy with my experience. I believe sugical competence is very important.
My first impression of Dr. Chung was that he was very professional without being stuffy and conceited like some doctors can be. His office staff is nice, but swamped! Marcie has been so nice. As far as what I liked least.....hmmm, I guess they need to hire more people on staff to handle the success that they are having. We had to wait over an hour past our appointment time today, but stuff happen. The aftercare program is very impressive....lots of follow-up. Everything has been explained to me and my husband very thoroughly. Overall I'd say a 9 on a scale of 1-10.
