Dr Kuhn is wonderful. He explains everything that is going to happen with the surgery. Tells you what to expect, etc. He personally goes out and talks to the family after surgery to tell how everything went. I have referred a few people to Baylor and have given Dr K high reviews. Actually the Baylor WLS docs are great.
I was very impressed with Dr.'s Kuhn & McCarty at the inital info seminar. I choose Dr. Kuhn & I'm so glad (not that Dr. M isn't wonderful) Dr. Kuhn seems very patient, he listened & answered every question we had. He is certainly competent & has been named one of the top surgeons in Dallas & his bedside manner is great, too!! The Baylor program is awesome! I've never heard of any that compare - they focus on every aspect of WLS. The aftercare is one of the things I like most! They offer nutrition classes pre-op, 6 wks & 6 mos, the online support group is very active with the surgeons participation as well as the monthly support groups - the aftercare is one of the keys to longterm success!
Dr. Kuhn was very quiet. He is a good listener and very patient. He spent a lot of time with me and I did not feel rushed or judged. My sister and my husband went with me and he answered all of our questions without hesitation. He explained everything in a way that anyone could understand it. He went over the risks of surgery with us so that we fully understood what could happen. I saw him before surgery and he was a caring compasionate man. I love him!! His office staff was great. He emphasizes aftercare and the need to follow the program. He is with the Baylor WLS group and they have an excellent aftercare prgram. I would rate him as an A++++!! I would say that he is number one in surgical competence and his bedside manner. I would not have changed a thing about him. I LOVE THIS MAN!!!!
I nicknamed Dr. Kuhn "Kool Hand Kuhn" and that describes him. He is very low key, confident and extremely talented. He and his partner have been named among the top 100 doctors in Dallas.
Aftercare is an essential part of the Baylor WLS program. At every turn the surgeons and the staff emphasize that those who are successful participate in aftercare. They check to see who attends support group meetings, they read the web-site and they themselves are at every support group meeting.
Before my consult my surgeon had me take a test to see how prepared and realistic I was about WLS. During the consult we discussed in detail the risks and potential complications due to my medical condition. He personally met with my cardiologist prior to my surgry date.
Dr. Kuhn and the whole Baylor WLS program is outstanding.
I had some complications after surgery and Dr. Kuhn kept me an extra day to make sure I was well enough to go home.
The only thing negative aboutt he program is the length of time it takes to have surgery but it was worth the wait to get the level of care that I got.
Dr. Kuhn and his staff are great. Megan is the coordinator and she is wonderful. When I went in for my consultation, they were very professional and informative. Dr Kuhn, made me feel comfortable right off the bat. He answered my questions, basically without me asking them. I was very concerned with the "possiblity of death". He eased my mind, and was very instrumental in my decision to have the surgery
