Dr. Grant is an absolute angel!! He saved ny life. I am so thankful to have had the best surgeon!! He was so patient, kind, and understanding throughout the entire process. He remembered a request I made as a preop patient and presented me with a DVD of the surgery at my 3 week postop appt. He is a blessing and anyone who has him as their surgeon, is blessed with the best!!

Had my second visit with Duke and all my pre-op labs are done.. I am waiting to hear when my insurance letter will go out. This is a long process, but I feel I have made the right decision. The Surgeon told me to expect a late Nov. 2003 or early Dec. 2003 surgery date.

So far so good! I love him. He is serious and knows his stuff! He also has a quick wit. I have heard nothing but good about him.He is very direct and to the point and after care is as imprtant as before care.
7-25-03----I had my 3 week follow up today and I gave Dr. Grant a hug. He is the best. I would recomend him to any one considering this surgery. Not only is he a great doctor, he is a great person as well. He has a fantstic attitude and he has really taken care of me. I have had a complication free surgery and recovery thanks to a great Doctor.

I have found Dr. Grants office team to be thorough and painstaking in their screen process. It is a time consuming process (about 6 months) but it is in the best interest of potential patients. I appreciate that they go to far lengths to make sure we are ready and able to have this type of surgery.

Well went for my pre-op interviews with the Psyche and surgeons, Dr. McMahon and Dr. Grant. Both were very impressive and knowledgeable. Very understanding and explained all concerns in detail. One on one with Dr. Grant shows that he cares greatly for the obese and understands their needs and concerns. I feel like I'm in the best of hands for this Wednesdays surgery.

My first impression of Dr. Grant is that he really knew what he was talking about. The seminar was great. He explained everything in detail. I haven't had a one on one with him yet. I've been accepted to be a patient. I'm waiting for my first appointment which should be coming in about 2 weeks. I am so excited, I can hardly wait. Will update as the process proceeds.

His office staff lost my application (faxed successfully on 9/11/02). Secretary is clueless, but was leaving for maternity leave. Maybe she won't come back. Everyone else in the building is nice, she just needs a clue. After the orientation session, I have fallen in love with Dr. Grant. The office staff seems to be a bit more organized. Dr. Grant gave good references for journal articles, and his data is up to date.

Dr. Grant seems to be a regular guy. I was very happy with the way he treated me personally and others in group settings, no condescending tone, very personable, is genuinely concerned about the welfare of his patients. Dr. McMahan seems full of energy and sincerity. He seems just as genuine as Dr. Grant. Both of them exude confidence in the procedure and themselves. I think I will do well because of it.

I haven't met Dr. Grant yet, but understand from my friends that he and his staff are very caring. They want people to succeed
with the surgery.

Dr Grant and Dr McMahon at Duke are very kind, considerate and excellent doctors. I woulkd recommend them highly. They have explained everything in great detail. The process was pretty fast I did not have to wait a real long time to be seen or scheduled. As soon as BCBS approved the surgery I was scheduled within 3 weeks.
They have a great after care program, support groups, psychiatry etc. I have not had any bad experiences with anyone in the office at all.

I've only met Dr. Grant once so far but anticipate another meeting with him just prior to surgery. He certainly seems knowledgable, capable, confident, experienced. I feel like I'm in excellent hands. Although, I must say, his eyebrows remind me of Jack Nicholson's: they kind of have a mind of their own.
