HE IS NOT A LARGE MAN IN STATURE BUT HE IS A LARGE MAN IN HIS KNOWLEDGE AND PEOPLE SKILLS. I FEEL COMFORTABLE EACH TIME I GO TO HIS OFFICE FOR A CHECK UP. HIS STAFF IS FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL. I HAD A QUESTION ABOUT MY INCISION AROUND THE SECOND WEEK POST OP AND HIS STAFF MADE ME REALIZE I WAS NOT A PROBLEM PATIENT AND SHOULD REALIZE THEY WERE THERE TO HELP ME. IT IS NICE TO NOT JUST ME THEIR PAYCHECK. THE WHOLE PROCEDURE THIS DOCTOR HAS OUTLINED FROM PREOP INFORMATION TO POST OP CARE IS VERY THOROUGH AND EASY TO UNDERSTAND. I FEEL HE IS THE BEST DOCTOR FOR THIS PROCEDURE BECAUSE I HAVE TALKED TO OTHER PATIENTS WITH OTHER DOCTORS AND THEY DON'T COMPARE.

My first impression of Dr. Huse was that he was a soft spoken, no nonsense man. He was very informative and very nice when we had our one on one meeting. Right before my surgery Dr. Huse came in and explained everything I was going to do to get to surgery and approximately how long the surgery would take and asked me and my family if we had any questions. He was very nice and friendly and made me feel really good about going into surgery. I admire him very much and thank him from the bottom of my heart for giving me a new life. I would recommend him to anyone in my area that is wanting to have the surgery. He is wonderful, caring and can even be funny *LOL*.

My first impression of Dr. Huse is that he is a quite mannered and very knowledgable man. He seems to have a helpful spirit and willing to answer any and all questions that I had. Unfortunately at the time of my first meeting with him...I didn't know what questions to ask. Now that I am several months into this process...I've got plenty..but, I suppost there will be time for those things when I get to surgery. Overall I have been impressed with the helpful and responsive nature of his office staff. They have alwasy been helpful and kind to me on the phone. I was able to get my insurance approval on my first try because his staff explained so well, what I needed to get together to document my case and coordinated things with my insurance co. I have met several people in my support group who have had Dr. Huse as their surgeon and they speak very highly of him also.

Of course, I can't speak to his bedside manner yet, because I have that still ahead of me. (I pray it will be a good one...because I'm going to be a nervous wreck)

I met with Dr. Huse on 7/9/02 for my group consultation-followed by the individual consult. A close friend who had WLS surgery in 1999 recommended Dr. Huse to me-she has not had any complications- which is a plus!-I must say that I had read other reviews of Dr. Huse on AMOS prior to my meeting with him- and true to form-Dr.Huse was informative but not very personable( or should I say overly friendly)which is fine, I need a competent surgeon not a new friend. He did try to use a bit of humor here and there, during my individual consult-he answered all of my questions throughly. I feel good about my surgeon and the sucessful outcome. I must say that I did feel that it was unprofessional to move the consultation up an hour and a half, I happen to be off work-so it did not effect me, however there were 4 others who were "late" and missed the group presentation. My hope is that he went over the things they missed.
I was approved for surgery 10/02-My surgery date is not until 4/03- I did a bit of research and it seems that Dr. Huse schedules approx. 6-7 months from approval-unless approval happens very quickly from the intial consultation. Dr. Huse is a very good surgeon, he is in demand. His office staff have been very friendly and anwered my questions. I hope to meet with him again prior to surgery but I have read many profiles in which you only meet with him during the consultation, then again at surgery-it is not until your follow-up care will you get to meet with him regularly. I am still confident in his abilities, my friend (she had surgery in 1999)has nothing but the best to say about Dr. huse and her care. I hope for the same, I just wish surgery dates were sooner.

My first impression of Dr. Huse was favorable. He made his presentation very professionally, and then when we had a chance to talk privatly for a few minutes...he asked appropriate questions and seemed interested and concerned with my answers. I am not looking for a funny/super nice guy...I want someone to do their job in a professional and customer service oriented type way. He met that requirement. His office staff has been very nice as well. Fran, the assistant, although busy, has answered my questions when I have called, and has been very friendly. The BTC at St. Vincents highly emphasizes aftercare and offers several options to make sure we do it properly.
I give this surgeon, his staff, and the treatment center an over all very high rating.

I did notice that their scale added an extra 35 lbs to my actual weight. I might have been wearing extra heavy clothing that day.

Dr. Huse appears to be very dry. But that's not a bad thing. He is very smart, and has a lot of patience. The office staff is great at assisting with appointments, billings, getting my paperwork for my short term disability filled out and general questions.

Dr. Huse couldn't be better.

I had my first preop consultation with Dr Huse today he seems to be a very nice man , however he is very quiet. He first has a meeting with everyone together then takes you to another room where you can ask additional questions. The staff at the baratric center were all very nice and very helpful. Dr Huse states that it will take at least a few weeks for letter to be sent to insurance company. Only negative thing I could say at this time is that him doest like to chit chat he was in and out quickly and didnt seem to want to joke around but I am sure he has to be that way since he has alot of patients and if he got caught up with joking or kidding around at all his days would be much longer. He does make you aware this is not a surgery to be taken lightly and there are possible side effects and you really need to weigh the risk. I think he will be a good surgeon. I would rather have a good surgeon than have the fun personality.
