Dr. Vaughan is AWESOME! He is funny, brilliant and no nonsense. He reviewed everything again. Had no problem answering all of my questions (and believe me I had a lot). I like that he is straightforward with you. He is one of the best doctors that I have ever met. I know I am in good hands with him.

I haven't had my consultation with Dr. Vaughan yet. I will have it on February 20, 2003. But I am impressed with his office staff and how professional they are and how they don't waste your time. They submitted all my information to the insurance company and called me the minute they heard anything. I have heard nothing but wonderful things about my surgeon. He is highly rated in the state of Florida. He mentored and is part of the group of surgeons that did Carnie Wilson's surgery. I can't wait to meet him and see for myself, but I am sure I am going to like him.

My first impression of Dr.Vaughan is that he is extremely informative. He explains everything including possible complications which could arise. He is also very down to earth. I felt very confident & not the least bit nervous. I asked Dr.Vaughan if I was an apple or a pear because in his lecture he refers to his patients as either one. He told me to stand up and when I did he advised me I am a PEAR !!!! A pear is generally an easier patient to do. His staff is phenominal and like himself, very caring & profesional. After I met with Dr.Vaughan, I went to the Jupiter Medical Center patient registration to sign all necessary documents. Then I saw the pre op nurse. She took my blood pressure and pulse and explained what to expect as well as having more documents to be signed. I then met Dr.Schroeder the anesthesiologist. He explained the meds and the breathing tube and listened to my heart and pulse. The last step was the lecture which was also very thourough. I hope my surgery experience & stay in the hospital is as good an experience as I have had thus far.

I haven't met Dr. Vaughan yet, except through the email he personally answered. His surgical coordinator, Carol, has been extremely helpful.
It's real important to me that I have lap rather than open. I had open surgery about 20 years ago, and I'd rather not go through that again. Dr. Vaughan's expertise is lap, and that, plus his location, are the reasons I decided to work through his office.

I liked this man even before I met him. He actually answers his own emails even when you're only considering having the surgery. His office staff is wonderful and always answered my questions promptly. His staff has a bariatric guide given to each patient before surgery so you can familiarize yourself with the after diet. It's loaded with valuable info that I still refer to even at almost 5 months post-op. I knew ALL the risks going in, and I admit to being frightened, but I'm on the other side and boy, was it worth it! I give Dr. Vaughan the highest rating possible. His surgical competence and bedside manner are both top notch in my book.

My cousin found out I was looking into the Roux-en-Y surgery and she just happened to work for this Dr. She would not even hear of me going to another Dr, execpt her Dr. Vaughan. She sees him every day in the Operating Room and is very familiar with his skill level. Every one at the office is caring, professional, helpful, and exact. Especially Carol, she runs it! They do this all the time and are very good at it. I found no mistakes, no problems, nothing to do, really. They know what all needs to be done and it gets done. I mean, I have to do my part:get letters signed, fill out forms, etc, but otherwise Dr.V's office is a well oiled machine. They even have an 800 number for those out of town to call. I went to about 4 info lectures by other Dr's and Dr. V's was the only one I didn't cry at. He went over everything and explained the surgery in detail (not too much-LOL)and really made me comfortable with his skills as a surgeon. Dr. V's whole procedure from begining to 18 months afterward is very, very structured. They give you diets and procedures you MUST follow, they show you how to begin moving after surgery, and how to keep that momentum into an exercise program for life. I ave not one bad thing to say about Dr Vaughan and his support staff and his program.
