I first met Dr. Vaughan when I attended a lecture at Jupiter Hospital. He was the 3rd surgeon I went to see. I immediately liked his sense of humor, and his obvious passion for what he does for a living. He is extremely knowledgeable and dedicated to bariatric surgery. Everyone in his office is just wonderful. Carol, the coordinator, is just the sweetest, nicest woman. She always has time for you. When I went for my pre-op appointment, Dr. Vaughan answered all of my questions cheerfully and honestly. He discussed all the risks and also told me what percentage of his patients had each thing. I liked that he was honest and up front about that. I felt very confident that I made the right choice. When I went to the support groups, everyone there just raved about Dr. V. and his staff as well. Even those who had complications (only a few people) STILL said he is the best and they would do it all over again in a heartbeat. Dr. V. has a very strict post-op eating plan, and his patients lose TONS of weight. He truly wants you to look and feel your best.

Dr. Vaughan is the best surgeon in the WORLD! Not only is he be blessed with a gift to perform the gastric bypass, but he has dedicated himself and his staff to helping his patients in succeeding on the journey. His post op follow up is second to none. He, nor his staff make you feel like a you are a freak of nature because you are heavy...they are sympathetic to your needs. I did ALOT of research and I had to drive 3 1/2 hrs for Dr. Vaughan but he was well worth it. I live in Tampa and drove to Jupiter, Florida so its not like I lived in a bodunk town and there were no other surgeons available...I went where the BEST surgeon was!

My first impression of Dr. Vaughan remains the same as the way I feel about him now: competent, and VERY serious and knowlegeable about his work.
I found him to be very informative of the risks AND benefits of the surgery, and I was encouraged to talk freely and ask as many questions as I needed to through the entire process.
His office staff have been WONDERFUL! They are cheerful and very helpful.
This man is DEADLY serious about aftercare. You are required to check in, and you had better be following directions and reporting problems! Believe me, he is THERE for you! His aftercare program is very structured and easy to follow, with a manual of directions and pre-printed lab referrals.
He has developed a quality, inexpensive line of supplements tailored to our needs, and keeps careful tabs on our nutritional feedback.
I feel VERY well taken care of. I researched his credentials AND his bedside manner beforehand, and received nothing but glowing reports from both the professionals who know him, and his patients. His experience at this surgery was my number one concern, and all you need do is check out his website to see why I chose him.
I give Dr. Jefferson Vaughan an A-plus rating.

My first impression of Dr. Vaughan was that he is the best surgeon for this surgery. I would recommend him to anyone. I went to a couple of orientations of other surgeons here in florida and Dr.Vaughan's orientation was the one I enjoyed the most and felt that I got the most out of. Dr. Vaughan took the time out at the end of the orientation to answer any questions anyone had in reguards to the surgery whereas the other orientation I went to the doctor did not take that additional time out to address any concerns.
My impression of Dr. Jefferson Vaughan has not changed at all over time with the exception of getting better. I called his office so much after surgery I thought they would get sick of me b/c I had a lot of questions and concerns. But, they were always polite and helpful with any concerns I had which helped me feel more at ease when I knew they were only a phone call away.

He is fantastic. I love all his people and would highly recommend them all. I was rehospitalized twice due to dehydration and they were with me every step of the way, made sure I had home health workers when I needed them. they called if I missed going for my monthly blood work.
If you decide to go this router this is the only place to go and Dr Vaughan is the only surgeon to use.
He has a great sense of humor and is truly interested on all of his patients.
The only time I felt uncomfortable was when he couldn't figure out why I couldn't hold anything down, but his nurse said that was because he is a surgeon and wants to fix everything but he couldn't find anything to fix. The nursing staff made sure I was not taking his frustrations personally.

I first met Dr. Vaughn in Jan 2003 at his lecture. He was very professional, to the point and very, very funny. He made the atmosphere so great. I had interacted with his Patient Coordinator, Carol too and she also was very good. I was really impressed when I called her a year later and she remembered me. Even though we really didn't get very far in the process, she knew who I was. That really impressed me. I actually had the opportunity to sit down with Dr. V. on Jan 29, 2004. My first impression of him was right on point. He is really a great guy and genuinely seemed to care about me. He too remembered me from the lecture (I must be unforgettable) :-) I was really impressed!
Dr. V, has a strict plan that needs to be followed once released from the hospital. He takes this plan very seriously and expects you to also.
I look forward to him performing my surgery.

I chose Dr. Jefferson Vaughan because for one my insurance covers the surgery through him and because I had been to several other doctors that perform this surgery and felt that Dr. Vaughan was the most knowledgeable on the Lap RNY. Dr. Vaughan explained the surgery and risks better than any of the other doctors orientations that I had attended and overall I liked him the best.

My first impression was WOW, not only is he cute bute, well known by many and he knows his stuff. Great bedside manner, spends as much time needed in the room with you with no hurry.
My impression has yet to change.
His staff is the BOMB. They are awsome. This one nurse, Carol, was with me thru the beinging. She never forgets to return a phone call, and trust me she will do what she can to help you in anyway. She was angel during my begining process.
I have yet to find anything I dont like about him.
Dr V will do all that he can do also to help with the insurance. Know that he is great at what he does, He will not have you do something that you should not be doing. He is Trustworthy.
After care for him is Extremely important. Your wellfare is top priority.
If you do something that you should have not done. know that he will get mad at you. But, only beacuse he cares.
Yes, I week post op, you have to attend a post op class about 1 hr after you seen him. Also they have support groups 2times a month.
He stated anything and everything that can go wrong during surgery. He also states how many times that has happened to him.
Both are great and help the patient feel more at ease and comfortable.
