My first impression of dr. nazarian is wow this man knows what he is talking about. I was very impressed with him as well as his office staff.
he was able to answer all the questions that i had.
he is a very soft spoken man.
the only thing i find hard is that he only has two days aweek that he is in the office but i will say it is well worth it.

He is simply a GREAT doctor! He took every precaution possible to prevent a complication. His office staff is wonderful and very helpful.

My experiences with Dr. Nazarian and his staff have been very pleasant. I am scheduled to have surgery on 2/12/02 and am glad to have a skilled surgeon performing the operation.

I have to share my experience with Dr Nazarian. I was approved for my surgery only 2 days before he was going to be here in Vegas for a seminar. I was very anxious to meet with Rick with his office and the doctor himself. I didn't know what to expect, I had some bad experiences with doctors before. And, I am very pleased to announce that Dr Nazarian is a wonderful person. Is he perfect? Does he too judge people by their weight? I want to tell you that he did say that even he has been known to do that. I was so impressed with that admission that I nearly cried. He doesn't hate overweight people like some of the doctors that I have met have. He is very informed and gives a very instructional and informative seminar. My mother went with me and she has had surgery with a different doctor and let me tell you, even she understood the surgery and how her new stomach works now.

Dr Nazarian's office staff is wonderful. You primarily deal with the Liv-Lite staff. They are so wonderful!!!! They make you feel at ease about your decision and they treat you as you would want them to treat you. And, they will bust their butts to get your letter sent out ASAP and get that approval sent in for you. Thanks Rick!!!!

I can't say that there is anything that I don't like about Dr Nazarian. He really is a great person. And, I am very happy to say that because I know that he truly is a perfectionist..I don't have to worry. I don't fear the surgery...if it has his skill involved, I am not scared. I only have to fear what I do with his great work. And, let me tell you, if you want to see a beautiful tummytuck....you have to see his. Please check it out at www.gastricbypasssurgeon.com

I think it is important to let all people know that your stomach and the area that they are operating on is near your chest. It is all around your lungs. Dr Nazarian is a Chest Surgeon. I know there is a term for it but, I can't think of it. If you have to have someone digging in your chest region, why not have someone that specializes in that area?

Also, the aftercare, it is amazing how much he knows and understands his work. He has said that there is a bit of stretching that can occur with bad choices and care. And, even though it is natural for some stretching, he has you do liquids for a full month, then pureed foods for a month...and even though it sounds horrible even to me...I can tell you that when he tells you why...you will understand. His aftercare is wonderful!!!! They have a very structurized aftercare program. I will find out more when I go there in a week. I will let you all know at that time.

As for the risks and how it was addressed...He didn't beat around the bush. I can't tell you how he said it. I don't remember. I have researched so much of this and yet, during the seminar, I learned so much that I was taking alot of notes off of what he said. I don't remember the risks, I had already known them.

I would give Dr Nazarian and his staff a 20 on a scale of 1-10. Does that tell you how I feel? I hope that if you are looking for a surgeon that you take the time to check into Dr Nazarian. He is a gentle, caring and very intelligent skilled Doctor. You won't be sorry...plus, ask about the treatment that the hospital gives his patients, you will see that this is the place to go.

I will share more as time goes on. Good luck to all.

1) When I first met Dr. Nazarian, he was very caring to my needs and what was best for me and my situation. He knew exactly what it was that I needed and he also sat there and listened to what I was most concerned with about the surgery and the procedures. I had many medical issues to deal with and that was my reasons for seeking help through Gastric Bypass surgery. Dr. Nazarian is the only surgeon that I have contacted since my interest in the surgery. His staff in his office has been very helpful towards any questions that I have had. They have also helped to get me approved through my insurance company. And being that they are located in the heart of Beverly Hills, Ca. I also thought that he was probably a very highly respected Dr. for being located in such a lavish city. Come to find out about my new Dr. is that he took the time to listen to me and then he explained all aspects of the surgery. The pros definately outweighed the cons. Onn Jan. 24th I went to the hospital and had all the lab-tests performed. I went through all tests very well except my breathing. The surgery was scheduled for Jan. 29th. The Drs. tests showed that I have bronchistis and that he thought it would be best to post-pone the surgery until my bronchitis had cleared. Now I am rescheduled for Feb. 20, 2002. Im very excited. I know this is a big step in my life, but a very wise decision.

He's very, very quiet and hard to read. He asks alot of questions. He requires that you be seen 3 times prior to even scheduling surgery, just to make sure that your healthy enough for the procedure and to be certain that you aren't rushing into things.
He's got a great staff in his office, Rosie and Elaine, very helpful and after my first visit, they remembered my name! I've also been working with Dana and Rick Mark alot. Rick is the Program Coordinator and has been working with my insurance company, he's great and never makes me feel bad for bugging him. Dana is absolutely awesome! She's really the one that directed me to Dr. Nazarian, I can't say enough nice things about her.

Dr. Nazarian is very thorough in explaining the surgery, the risks and the aftercare. I'm happy and as soon as I'm Post Op, I'll have much more to say!

Dr. Nazarian is a very professional doctor. He has a calm spririt. He is always calm professional and concerned about the needs of his patients. The staff is very nice and responsive to calls. Although it takes a while to be seen it he is well worth the wait.

DR. NAZARIAN IS A VERY SKILLED SURGEON AND IS PLEASANT TO DEAL WITH. WHEN I HAVE NEEDED TO REACH DR. NAZARIAN QUICKLY HE MAKES EVERY ATTEMPT TO GET BACK TO ME RIGHT AWAY. HIS OFFICE STAFF (ELAINE AND ROSIE) HAVE BEEN VERY HELPFUL IN ADDRESSING MY PRE AND POST-OP QUESTIONS. DR. NAZARIAN DOES STRESS AFTERCARE IN THE MONTHLY APPOINTMENTS THAT YOU WILL HAVE BOTH PRIOR TO AND AFTER YOUR SURGERY. THE RISKS OF THE SURGERY ARE ALSO REVIEWED AND ANY QUESTIONS THAT YOU MAY ARE ADDRESSED IN THE NUMEROUS APPOINTMENTS THAT YOU WILL HAVE PRIOR TO YOUR SURGERY. MORE IMPORTANT, SURGICAL COMPETENCE..BUT BEDSIDE MANNER IS GOOD TOO. DR. NAZARIAN IS AN EXCELLENT SURGEON AND PRETTY GOOD WITH THE BEDSIDE MANNER AS WELL.

I met with Dr. Nazarian on 9/13 after an extensive series of tests at Temple Hospital. I'd already communicated with a number of people from his office starting with Dana, a former patient, who was very informative, empathetic, and unfailingly helpful. Next was Rick who is simply fantastic... he's energetic, enthusiastic, thorough, and most importantly for me very assertive about helping me.

Dr. Nazarian is somewhat reserved but highly professional and made a point of coming to the hospital and reviewing my upper GI results himself. He explained everything to me, answering all my questions and laying out risks and rewards. He stressed the importance of my desire and my families support as two of the strongest measures to ensure my success.

I've had the surgery and couldn't be more pleased with the Dr., his staff, and the hospital staff. Everyone was fabulous and made sure that I was recovering well and had the attention and care I needed. I'm feeling good and my scar is healing nicely. I highly recommend this team to anyone thinking of WLS.

Dr. Nazarian is a really nice man. I couldn't have picked a better Doctor. His Office Staff is very nice, helpful and caring. There is not really anything I don't like about him, he was late to the appointment. My best friend had the surgery and so did her mother. He did both of their surgeries and did a really good job. He is very caring and its not fake you can tell it is genuine. He does emphasize very much on the aftercare, you get a program to follow and a dietian for any other questions. He tells you all the risks of surgery and then tells you the risks of not having the surgery. I would rate him on a scale of 1-10 (10 being the highest) he is a 12. I really can't say enough good things about him. I asked him point blank how many patients his has lost to the rny bypass and he was shocked he said no one had ever asked that question. He has NEVER lost a patient in 20 years he has been doing the surgeries. I would say he is competent in his surgical and bedside manner. The man knows what he is doing. I spoke with several women in the waiting room while I was waiting my turn and they had all four had the surgery and were getting really good results. All were doing great - one had a hernia and one wasn't losing much weight, but she was not eating right.
