My first impression of Dr. Nazarian was of a kind and knowledgeable doctor. The impression has not changed over time. The doctor is soft spoken and gentle, and is genuinely caring. The office staff are competent. As can be expected with any doctor's office, it is necessary to initiate most contact with office staff due to understandable time constraints. I can honestly come up with nothing negative to say. I trust this doctor with all my heart, and feel that he has earned and deserves this trust and respect from me as a patient. The doctor flies to the other side of the state periodically for the benefit of us patients living here, which is going above and beyond the call of duty. He and the program director treat us as well as family. As for structured aftercare, I have done reading and research on my own after surgery. It was my choice. I don't have a lot of time to attend support groups, although they are of occassional benefit. The risks of surgery were carefully explained prior to surgery. I would give Dr. Nazarian a 9.9, only because if I said 10, nobody would believe it, even though it's true. Both surgical competence and bedside manner are excellent. I could have chosen a surgeon closer to home and within my insurance network. However, I chose this doctor and I would have made the same choice again in retrospect. I felt like I was literally in good hands with this doctor.

I felt at first he treated me like a number but after the surgery his bedside manner was amazing. He seemed extremely concerned with my well-being and success. The office staff is not so friendly until you really get to talking to them and eventually grow on them. Although, I found the staff that was responsible for my approvals were extremely friendly and reassuring.rnrnDr. Nazarian is a highly capable surgeon. He is efficient and experienced (although I have pretty big scars to show for it). As far as aftercare, it's not one to rely on. I was sent away with papers on aftercare, but not anything such as \"THE RULES\" or \"THE BASICS\" or anything like that. rnrnHe did address the risks of surgery beforehand, but I am now a bit concerned he moved forward with the procedure knowing I was already very low in iron levels, being post-ops generally become anemic, I was put at a higher risk of it.rnrnOverall, with the fact that I had NO COMPLICATIONS whatsoever, very little (if ANY) dumping, and amazing loss I have to rate him as a 9 1/2. I didn't need the aftercare program SO much because I was lucky I struggled only briefly with the battle of headtrips and internal turmoil, but not so much as some. rnrnSurgical competence rates the highest priority with me because what's the use of bedside manner if you continue to check in and out of the hospital for complications, right?

I REALLY LIKED HIM rnNo my impression really did not change over time. I enjoyed the office staff, they were very supportive. I think the thing I liked the least, is the cease of contact and follow up. It seems whenever I would try to call it would be almost impossible to reach the doctor. Yes. I believe he is a very compassionate and caring. That is another thing, the follow up and aftercare is minimal, there really isnt much contact, especially for those patients are located over 400 miles away. No particularly. Of course he is very thorogh in the risks of surgery and the risks after surgery and the importance of following the instructions you are given when you are released from the hospital. I would give him a 8.5 on the scale. I feel his compassion, surgicial competence, and bedside manner are way above standard.

Doctor Nazarian is a quiet soul until he needs to be otherwise. He seemed almost shy at first, but when one of his employees interrupted his meeting with my husband he showed that we come first and he was strong to put her in her place. He is respectful and knowlegable and is willing to fight for what is best for you. He has taken both my husband and I into his care and I appreciate that he is thorough in all he does for that is in our best interest. I trust him and thank him for everything he's done so far. He has a very good staff that I've found have almost all been through weight struggles, and or the surgery, which truly helps in the compassion aspect. They also work very closely with the insurance companies to get us through that hurdle as well. I know it's a long road, but I'm glad he's there to walk it with both my husband and I.
