I liked him from the beginning. He answered all the questions that my husband and I asked him and he didn't try to rush us. He was very confident and I felt safe with him. I have continued to be impressed with him and I have not heard a negative report about him or his staff. Plus, he is not bad looking and that is an added plus! HaHa He does stress aftercare and BTC-Ohio does have a structured aftercare program. He was very honest and upfront about the risks of surgery and did not try to sugar coat things. He wanted both my husband and me to know upfront just what I was to expect. This is major surgery and there would be pain and risks. This surgery NOT for everyone and he wanted to make sure I was having this surgery for the right reasons. I truly feel that a surgeon must be both surgically competent and have a great bedside manner. I know I have found both of these with Dr. Viglianco and his staff.
I met Dr. Viglianco today at my initial consult and found him to be a very nice guy. Couple that with all the rave reviews I have seen about him on the web and talkin to his patients and I feel really good about my choice in Doctors. The staff at the Bariatric Treatment Center was very nice as well and the only real negative thing I have to say is that they have you wait. Wait to get called to the back just so you can wait some more.....
10/10/01- I met my surgeon again today after he was finished with my wife's surgery!!!!! He told me that everything went alright and that he checked out her ovaries and everything else that was in that general vicinity and it all checked out ok!!!! I am relieved and that goes to show what a thorough surgeon he is which is some more peace of mind for me when it is my turn
Dr. Viglianco was very kind and understanding
he did not rush me thru like I was a cattle.
He took his time to explain everything to me.
The only thing is that he look very tired. and at first that worried me. but the more I talked to him the more confortable I was with
him. The office staff was very friendly. I guess I was one of the lucky ones that day because as soon as I got my paper work done they took be right back. He emphasize aftercare alot. and his aftercare program seem to be structured very well. He also told me all the risk about the surgery and what could happen the good as well as the bad.Surgical competence and bedside manner both mean alot to me and he had both. that is why I went to Grove City because we do not have that around here in Htgn.
Dr. Viglianco and the staff at BTC are great. Everyone genuinely cares about the patients. I always have a lot of questions and Dr. Vig. is always very patient and and addresses every concern I have. While in the hospital Dr. Vig. checked on me each day. The hospital staff at BTC is unbelievable. They are so helpful and attentive. Many of them have had this surgery so they have even more of understanding what the patient is going through. When I went for my 2-week post-op appt. and found out I lost 32 lbs. I was so excited and Dr. Vig. and his staff shared that excitement as well. Dr. Vig. is a knowledgable surgeon with a great bedside manner as well. I would definitely recommend Dr. Vig. and BTC to anyone.
I met Dr. Viglianco on Sept. 7, 2001. He reveiwed my charts and personal information with me, the described in detail the surgerey. He told me how my life would change. He was very patient answering all of my questions from could I have children after the surgery to what happens to my skin. I had a lot of questions and he took the time to answer all of them. His office staff was wonderful. From the time I first walked in to the office to when I walked out I felt like I was the most important person to them. They all took time time with me to listen to me and comfort me when I cried. (ALOT) He explained to me his aftercare policies and meeting with a nutritionest to taking care of the incision. The importance of having a support team. I feel I was very informed of what I needed to do to make my surgery work. He explained the risks in detail so that I new what could happen to my body. I don't know what he will be like as my surgeon because I haven't had the surgery yet, but I know he is a very intelligent person that I would feel very comfortable haveing Him do my surgery. I would rate Him as a kind and caring doctor who took all the time that I needed to explain eveything from start to finish. Honestly, no complaints!!
I KNEW THE MINUTE I SAW DR. VIG EVERYTHING WOULD BE OKAY. THE STAFF, INCLUDING COUNSELORS WHO WERE PATIENTS THEMSELVES COULDN'T HAVE BEEN KINDER OR MORE CARING, RIGHT DOWN TO THE RECEPTIONIST. IT WAS RATHER A LONG WAIT BUT UNDERSTANDABLY SO DUE TO THE HIGH NUMBER OF PEOPLE COMING IN/OUT ALL THE TIME.
DR. VIG WAS A STUDENT AT THE COLLEGE WHERE I WORK AND I COULDN'T BE HAPPIER.
HE EXPLAINED EVERYTHING THOROUGHLY, INCLUDING THE RISKS AND LEFT NO ANSWER UNANSWERED. I HAD TO ASK VERY FEW QUESTIONS AS HE COVERED EVERYTHING.
OVERALL, I WAS EXTREMELY PLEASED AND CANNOT WAIT FOR SURGERY.
AS I SAID, THE ONLY NEGATIVE THING I HAVE TO SAY WAS THE WAIT WAS LONG, BUT I HAD TRAVELED 3 HRS TO GET THERE SO I WASN'T GOOD AT BEING PATIENT AT THAT POINT.
When I met "Dr. Vig" I knew I would like him right away. He smiled within the 1st few minutes & a smile sure means a lot as far as 1st impressions go. He was very kind & imformative about all aspects of the surgery. He drew the RNY procedure on a dry erase board & made sure I knew all the risks and what the benefits could be. I have diabetes and he was very encouraging that with this surgery I could improve my sugar levels dramatically. I am very excited about getting healthy again and I know that Dr. Vig. will do anything within his power to see that happens for me. I also learned that I will receive a card to carry with me that one side states that I have had this surgery in case I have any complications. And the other side is to show at restaurants that simply says that I have had my stomach reduced and I should be allowed to order from the kids menu or the seniors menu. I thought that was really cool! Everyone at the BTC in Grove City, OHIO was very kind and helpful.
I saw Dr Vig on July 25, 2001. He was very nice and told me all about the surgery. I was impress with his down to earth style and he answered all my questions. I feel real good about him doing my suregery. I also met a lot of wonderful people Yvonne my Patient Rep, A Nurse ( I forgot her name) they all showed me their before and after Pictures I was so impress with the way the office staff have treated me so far. I cant wait until I have this suregery in Jan 02.
What can I say but this man is WONDERFUL. The surgery was perfect. I didn't get to see him until the day I was released from the hospital, but he sat down and answered all of my questions and when he got up to leave he gave me a hug. I have never had a Dr do this. Dr. Vig is the best. I would suggest anyone to see this surgeon at Bariatric Treatment Centers.
He can seem to be clinical in the beginnning but becomes very human.
Bariatric treatment center is great. They gave me a support group to go too. I talk with a dietician every visit and can call.
There is a manual they give you with a lot of information in it.
Yes, he did explain the risks as with any surgery.
Rating is a 10
Both were great.
These are my personal experiences only.
