Dr. vig. is wonderfull, he realy understands the hell we live in.
the office staff are very up-beat and positive. Dr vig. is commited to his patients beyond surgery. the diet that follows surgery was the key to my sucess. Dr.vig. and his staff covered the risks of surgery. overall, this was and is the best thing I've ever done. Dr. Vig is connected to his patients and truly cares about us.
my experiances after surgery were good and not so good. I felt out of control of my eating choices, not that I ever made wise ones, but now when I choose the wrong foods my body lets me know! Food no longer was a comfort. It took my body about 6 weeks to adjust to the changes inside of me. Some times I forget that I'm not 300 lbs.Some good things are that I no longer am a diabetic, no more hypo thyroid. I've lost over 80 lbs. I can cross my legs, buy non plus size clothes, go thru a turnstyle, sit in a booth. ya see my world was made larger as I got smaller.

I liked Dr. V. right off the bat. He was an excellent listener and never gave the impression that he was in a hurry.

My impression has only gotten better and better. He is a super surgeon.
Everyone is so nice, patient and concerned- genuine.

The office staff at BTC in Grove City, OH has been very helpful and extremely friendly. Dr. Viglianco seems like a very nice man, and everyone speaks highly of him. He was very thorough in discussing the pros and cons of the surgery, and answered all of my questions.

Dr Viglianco was very passionate man. He truly understand what a person is going though with this battle of
weight loss. He had great bed side manners very friendly to my family and to me. Alot of his staff had the surgrey done
too. They were very helpful when it came to questions. There was nothing I didn't like about him,the hospital, or the staff.
He emphasize alot about aftercare they provide a book to take home to aswer any questions. If it don't you can always call the office
and someone will help you. He told me about risks of surgery but I had done alot of reseacrh on my own so nothing he said surprised me any.
I would rate him very highly. His surgical competence and bedside manners were great. And I would tell anyone to check him out.
I was very please with the care I got from Dr. Viglianco and i'm glad that I pick him other some of the other people I had to choose from.
I feel he truly believe in what he is doing and he is happy helping other.

My first impression of Dr. Viglianco was that he was truly professional and a very soften spoken and warm individual. The staff was very friendly including the patient counselors who have also had the weight loss surgery already. Once I have my surgery I will update with regard to how he performed the surgery and how he treated me after it was over.
Update post op 2 weeks & 2 days
I had my surgery on May 24th. Dr. James Viglianco was wonderful and caring. He came by and saw me twice and gave me a hug each time. He is very very sweet. I recommend him to everyone!

Dr. Viglianco is wonderful! I have been impressed with him since my first consult. He treats you with a caring attitute, professionalism and a smile. The office staff BTC are friendly, helpful. I'm looking forward to my first support group meeting tomorrow. I highly recommend Dr. Vig to anyone considering this life-saving surgery.

I've only met the Doctor once but he seemed to be very professional and was very helpful in answering my questions about the surgery and what to expect afterwards.

I liked Dr. Viglianco right away. He was very down to earth. He explained everything to me and answered any questions I had. Also, I didn't have one of those extremly long waiting periods to see him either, I was only in the waiting room long enough to fill out my paperwork, so it moved pretty fast for me. I liked his office staff ok, no real problems there. The only problem I had with the whole experience was that when they weighed and measured me they said I was 5'6" and weighed almost 20 pounds heavier than I was the day before. When I said something about it to the nurse she looked at me like I was stupid. I know how tall I am, I just thought it was absurd to try and convince me that I had shrunk over 3 inches (I am a hair over 5'9"). The weight thing I could get over, I figure they probably think that alot of people don't really know 100% what they weigh. I have talked to others, and this seems as though I was the only one to experience that at that office, that I know of. Off of that though. He explained the procedure and the after care to me and my husband, and put my husband at ease (he wasn't behind this yet 100%, but is now). Overall, I would recommened him, I think he is awesome.

My first visit with Dr. Viglianco went very well. I started out at the office at 2:00 pm and finally saw him at about 5 pm. In between I met with Diana, who had the surgery aproximatly 5 years ago. I really enjoyed talking with her. They took my picture 'YUK'.
Then I met the surgeon, I was very comfortable with him, he is very thorough. Answered all my questions before I was able to ask them .
So now I am waiting for approval from the Cigna. Which by reading some of the comments on this site , looks like I need to keep on the BTC & Cigna ..LOL
But hey, it's "WORTH" it!

I met with Dr. Viglianco on 2/16/01. He was very informative, well-spoken, and willing to take any and all questions. The office staff was helpful and friendly.
