PLEASE READ TO THE END!!
Dr. Viglianco was personable, knowledgeable and courteous. His bedside manner was impeccable. Before surgery every doctor I had seen seemed to look down their collective nose. I actually had one tell me that my obesity was entirely my fault!!! When I researched bariatric surgery I found that was not the case.
Dr. Vig explained the process of gaining weight and what the process would be in losing it. He explained the risks thoroughly and made sure I knew them inside and out, thankfully but more on that in a bit. Bariatric Center of Ohio seemed to be the right fit and I proceeded to go through the hoops required of the insurance and of the center. I was finally OK'd for surgery EARLY fall of 2006!! BC was able to schedule me as one of their last surgeries for the year. My surgery was Dec. 11 2006 surgery was uneventful post op went great and I was released from hospital on the 16th.
Then the NIGHTMARE began. Bariatric Centers was INEPT. I began having problems within 6 weeks and could NOT get a follow-up appointment before my scheduled follow-up in 3 months time. It was doubly hard because I lived 3 ½ hours away. So for 3 months I suffered in agony. Once I was able to see Dr. Vig things didn't improve much. He prescribed acid reflux medication and sent me home telling me that it was normal adjustments to my new digestive system. Bull!! I vomited blood daily, had diarrhea constantly and wished every day that I would die!!
6 month check up still having problems and you'll never guess what happened!? No reason for the gastric distress I was in, actually said it was normal. Again sent me home with a follow up in another 6 months. Weight loss was on track, he saw no problems.
Now at this point I had seen three other doctors, none of which wanted to even 'touch' my stomach complaints. As for Dr. Viglianco???? He had left Bariatric Centers of Ohio without so much as a letter to his patients. The staff at BC all knew when I was there in June yet weren't permitted to say anything.
Dr. Viglianco screwed my RnY up so badly that I developed malabsortion syndrome, malnutrition syndrome and a quality of life that no ANIMAL deserves.
Dr. Vig was both professional and supportive :) His common sense approach to medicine was teriffic! He actually stayed on call for me once for 18 hours! In my experience, there could not be a better, more professional and caring doctor!
Thank you Dr. Vig

Dr. Viglianco was very attentive, and answered all of my questions and more. I percieved a tremendously caring attitude on his part. The procedure and follow-up they have at The Bariatric Treatment Center seem great so far. The staff are professional and caring. Their before and after care comments are excellent so far. It is required to see them 3 to 4 times within the first 6 months, and after the first year, you see them, at least yearly, just to make sure. They are staffed with a pre-op, post-op, and nutritional staff also! I'll keep you posted on how it goes from here!
I found this surgeon to be a breath of fresh airrnI like the Synergy Bariatric office. Dr.Viglianco just joined the staff. The staff has been friendly so far.rnI hope to be his first patient in Buffalo since I was already authorized to have surgery with Dr. Forbes at Buffalo General Hospital. I believe he will treat me with kindness and dignity which is not what I got from the other Doctor
