Dr.Vig was excellent in explaining the whole prodecure to me, he answered all of my questions.I felt that he was very personable and easy to talk with.

Dr. Vigs is a wonderful person! My first impression of him was 'secure'. He is very informative, comforting, friendly and can relate to people at their level. He grew up in a town clsoe to where I live so I felt like I was in good hands. The first time I seen him after surgery he came into the office and gave me the best hug I have had in a long time! He was proud of my success and very enthused. I have to say he is just absolutely wonderful and I think highly of this man.
His staff has been very helpful and supportive, friendly and they know their stuff! I live the enthusiasm in the office.

I liked Dr. Viglianco. Our conversation was very casual and he made me feel at ease, despite the fact that my appointment was more than two hours later than scheduled.

My subsequent visits with Dr. Viglianco have been great. It's obvious that he's very busy, but he always takes time to talk with you and catch up. And despite his patient load, he always seems to remember me.

I was impressed by some of the people I've spoken with at the Bariatric Treatment Center. Others, unfortunately, never return your phone calls. It can be very frustrating, until you find one of the good ones.

Very kind and knowledgeable. Willing to answer any questions we had. I did not feel like he was rushing through things with me.

My impression has not changes as yet. I have not talked to him since my first visit which is the only time I have seen him. Everything else is done through the support staff.

Aftercare is very important.

Yes

Answered all my questions. I work in the medical field and did a bit of research before I went and was pretty well informed of what to expect.

Good, but I would have liked to meet with him more than once. I have not had my surgery yet and hopefully I will have much more contact with him.

I first met Dr. Vig before I was planning on surgery. I had to pass through the bariatric unit on the way to the sleep lab where I was being tested for sleep apnea. He was sitting at the desk working on charts and I stopped to ask a question about the surgery. At that time I weighed over 300 pounds. Then as ever, Dr. Vig answered my questions with gentleness and caring. He is a very compassionate man who takes great interest in all of his patients. He was always there for me. I was sixty years old when I had the surgery three years ago, with multiple health problems. I was walking with a cane and using a CPAP machine to breath when I slept. Because of my age, I had more problems than most of the younger patients had. I developed an infection in my incision after I was sent home. He sent me to the hospital and was right there to reopen the wound and clean it out. It healed back with no more problems. We thought at one time my bile ducts might be blocked. Again, he was right there for me. Tests were ordered and all was well. I have developed hypoglycemia after the surgery. Maybe I had it before and never knew because I ate so much sugar. But Dr. Vig was right there to meet with me several times and order a glucose tolerance test. Other patients have described how well he answers questions and puts you at ease. The office staff described him as a teddy bear of a man. He is. A loving, caring man who will go the limit with you.
I have done some volunteering in the bariatric hospital and he always has greeted me when he sees me. He more than a surgeon. He is a friend.

10-25-01 Dr. Vig was very attentive and explained the procedure after we went over my history. He was very professional and kind. He seemed exhausted. I was his last consult for the day, but he did not rush my husband or I. He allowed us to ask all the questions we needed to. I am a nurse so we asked lots of questions. CJ and Angel are the other 2 we met with from BTC and they were very kind as well. They both have had the procedure done as well. Angel allowed my husband and I to see her scar. I asked Dr. Vig if we could go over to the Bariatric Care Center in Groveport City where they perform the operation (they have their own facility now, only BTC patients are there). So we went. He even drew us out a map to direct us how to get there since we are not from the area. Everyone from the receptionist at the door to the gentlemen in charge of the kitchen @ the hosp. was VERY nice and let us go up to the floor where the patients are staying. I was able to talk to a nurse named Tina, she explained a lot of little stuff to me and we even got to talk to three patients that were up and walking around about their experience. I am fired up and ready to go now after this. I feel this is the answer I have been praying for. Dr. Vig has a very structured after care program and he stresses vitamins and says I will be on prenatal vitamins the rest of my life and will be checked frequently for Iron, Folate, B-12, and protein deficiencies. He says he has performed 500-600 procedures, with a mortality rate of 1%. Dr. Vig also does not use staples to close his incisions. He uses a blind stitch and steri-strips, yeah! Makes for a much prettier incision. He also said I will never be able to take motrin, aleve, pepto-bismol, aspirin, and a couple other pain relievers he mentioned again (possibility of causing ulcers). But they give you a list of alternatives. There are so many other little things that they give you during your hospital stay to take home that I found out while there. I definitely recommend Dr. Vig and BTC to anyone that meets the criteria. Excellent bedside manner and knows his stuff!<br>

I have had my surgery now and have recovered very well from the procedure. My hospital stay went flawlessly and smoothly. No complications and no complaints. My only complaint is I can't get a straight answer on how much intestine was bypassed. I am going to request a copy of my surgical notes.

Wonderful man!!! He is so thorough and covers every question and my opinion of him has only heightened since my surgery 10/17/01. The office staff is very professional and friendly.

I went for my consult at BTC in Jan. I was very nervous but I had done enough research on the surgery to know that I was 99% interested.

Everyone there spent as much time as needed answering my questions. I was pleased to meet 2 girls who had gone through the surgery themselves.

The Dr. was very nice. He to spent as much time as I needed and I never felt rushed. I would have liked to hear more detail on the aftercare program.

I met Dr. Viglianco on my initial consult on July 12, 2001. I was impressed with how patient he was in answering my questions. He did not make me feel rushed by looking at his watch several times like other Docs do.

The only ones that I was not impressed with was the reception area people. One of the gals seemed very rude and impatient. Maybe it was just a bad day for her.

I was not talked to about the after care at that time. I guess they will cover that when I go for my PAT's.
