MY first impression of him was that he really knew what I wanted to know. Dr. Vig. is a really intellgent and nice person.
The staff at BTC was wonderful and i am glaud that i went there. no one hesitated to help in anyway there.
My surgery was a sucess I have a perfect scar even other doctors that have seen it were impressed.
From my very first meeting with Dr. Viglianco or Dr.Vig as his patients call him, I felt he was very knowledgable, forthwright, and always asked you if you have questions or concerns. I am confident in his surgical competence. He warms up over time -- I think he is basically shy. The day of surgery he was a rock -- I was sooo nervous and he was wonderful. ~ In terms of aftercare I couldn't be happier. ~ I would definately recommend him as the best surgeon to perform this procedure.
I met Dr. Viglianco on November 15 th of 2001. This was my initial consult.
First impressions of the Dr are quite good. He was very clear about the procedure and the life after. I was impressed by his general nature. I am lucky he has a sense of humor as the friend I brought along (hubby had to work) is quite outgoing and he seemed to roll with it!
The office was clean and well lit, semi comfortable seats (extra wide which was nice - but hard! LOL!). The staff seemed to be nice, the receptionist was a bit 'odd', nice, but did not ask to help. Perhaps she was still new?
I have yet to recieve one of the Dr's well documented hugs, maybe I do not qualify? *G*
After my 6 week check up I got my hug! lol!
Dr. Vig has always been very easy to talk to and I think he is one of the few surgeons in the area that is still human. Great surgeon and a wonderful person!
I still think that BTC needs to do something about how the paperwork is handled, to much paper trail. It is a lengthy process, but the end result is worth it.
Well let me tell you from the beginning.I first met Dr. Vig. in March 01. He was wonderfull. Answered all my questions. I asked him about the insurance part and I dont think he really gets involved with that at all. Well anyway I was denined. And have gone through HELL and back. Finally after 21 months I got the insurance to approve it. If I would have had my phone calls returned and my paperwork forwarded to my insurance after my 2nd consult with Dr. Vig it never would have taken this long. Dr Vig is great and so is his assistant but let me tell you what... the rest of the Bariatric Treatment Centers routine and office and insurance and Pre whatever needs HELP......I have never spoke to as many voice mails and "we will get back to you" or "I lost you file" or "I never got that fax" in my whole life. So anyway NOW they tell me I need a sleep test done to rule out sleep apnea or to find out if I have it. Dr Vig suggested I get that done in March 01 but never said I HAD to. To me it makes no since because that is just one of the reasons they use to get your insurance to approve it and my insurance approved it without it. But of course nobody ever followed up with me from there to see if I had done it done, So now my insurance wont approve that so now my family Dr wants me to go to a heart Dr and he will test for the same thing that the sleep test does or something like it. ANYWAY I really hope that this goes through soon. But as far as Dr Vig he has been great but the rest of the Pre Op has been crap
Dr. Viglianco is an excellent surgeon. He treats all of his patients with kindness & is very comforting. I would greatly recommend him. He is someone I have great respect for. He literally saved my life.
The nursing staff at BTC was incredible as well! They really know what they are doing & treat all the patients like royalty. There's no better place to go for bariatric surgery than BTC.
My surgeon was Dr. James Viglianco. I met with him for the first time in Jan. '02. I thought that Dr. "Vig" did a good job of explaining exactly what the procedure was about. He showed me (through diagrams) what would happen in surgery, went over the risks involved, covered what would happen should I stray off the diet and what I could expect in terms of wieght loss. I was impressed with his ability to explain all of this in plain language without wasting alot of words. The staff at the Bariatric Treatment Center here in Columbus was also very curteous and willing to spend the time necessary to answer all of my questions. Two of the s I talked to had undergone the procedure themselves. They both showed me pictures from before the surgey, wow, what a difference. They were each about one year post-op and they looked great! They also shared personal stories of some of the victories and set backs the had gone through.
As far as aftercare goes, Dr. Vig explained that this would be a lifelong relationship. Should I feel drasticaly different one day to the next, I should immediately just to be safe. There is also a support group that meets once a month in Groveport. I have missed the one I could have attended, but look forward to being at the December meeting. My surgery date was Oct. 15 so I'm still pretty new to everything.
I would rate Dr. Vig very highly to anyone. He has a great bedside manner and is willing to spend the time you need with him to answer questions. My entire experience has been extremely positive.
This journey has been full of roadblocks, and I am not even on the other side yet. After 3 months of procrastinating on the part of Dr. Bergstein, I was informed that his program had been put on hold.
I decided to have a consult with Dr. Vig of he BTC in Ohio, he is my daughter's doctor.
He is very professional, very knowledgable and I would be very comfortable having him perform the surgery.
My first impression of Dr. Kaczmarski was that he really cared about this surgery and his patients. He listened to everything I said and answered every question I had completely. He didnt try to "sugar coat" the procedure.
The staff at the center along with the doctor made me feel comfortable to be there. I have had some trouble with the insurance department. They have never returned a call yet and I have been calling for a couple of months now!!
When he was discussing the surgery he was very detailed about the risks of the surgery and gave exact percentages about how often they happen. Overall I would rate him so far as a A.
As of the beginning of August my surgeon was changed. I have met with Dr. Viglianco. He seems to be very down to earth and very professional.
10/6
Dr. Viglianco is a wonderful doctor and surgeon. He is compassionate and professional. I would reccomend him to anyone. He cares about you as a person, not just another "case".
