I would rate Dr.Weiss on a scale of one to ten a 10. He is very compassionate and truely cares about his patients. He is at every support group meeting to answer questions from our group and is easily available to his patients. I would reccomend any one to Dr. Weiss and most importantly his staff. He has surrounded himself around great people that are very educated on Bariatric surgery and care. Most of the office staff are bariatric patients themselves. They know first hand information of exactly what you are going through. The staff educated me about the positives and negatives before going into surgery. They clearly explained all the risks involved by attending the education classes. What a great team!

Dr. Weiss was exteremly professional and helpful with understanding and answering all the questions I had. The staff has been helpful with getting the appts. at the time I needed them. The office is well equipped with a seating area for obese people. I didn't have to squeeze into a seat and was very comfortable while waiting. The aftercare program is stressed and then stressed again. This is a very important part of the surgical procedure. They told each of us the extereme risks of the surgery. They want you to know all the possibilites of what may happen. I would rate the Drs. as extremely professional and with a great big heart for those of us with a weight problem. I would recommend highly to anyone considering the rny or lapband. I had my surgery April 18, 2004 and so far have lost around 30 pounds. I think the best part of all the surgical care was the night I spent in ICU. Just great staff in there. I really do not have anything negative to say about Dr. Weiss.
I was initially impressed with my surgeon and the entire staff at Bluegrass Bariatric Surgery Associates. They were kind, respectful and professional. My impression continued to be positive throughout the entire process, with the exception of one small complaint. My doctor did not meet with my family post-op and my family was made to wait until I was out of surgery for at least 30-45 minutes before finding out how my surgery went. Even then, they had to inquire with the nurse, no one came to them first. I think communication could have been better post-op. Other than that, I was very happy with the entire experience with Dr. Weiss and his staff, and would recommend and use them again. I would rate his surgical competence as excellent, bedside manner as fair.
Dr. Weiss comes across as a very intelligent caring man. The office and hospital staff are second to none. They are very knowledgeable and friendly. Several of them are weight loss surgery patients so they can definately relate to concerns, questions and other emotions related to WLS. After care program is Excellent. Cathi does a great job manning the message boards and leading the support group meetings. I would rate Dr. Weiss and his staff a 10. Who could ask for more; Great Surgeon, Great bedside manner, Great staff and Great Aftercare program.
First of all Dr. Weiss is now in Georgetown , KY at the Georgetown Community Hospital.
Great surgeon, very polite and respectful.
Good staff- many have also had wls which I find to be a bonus.
Very strong after care - support groups etc.
I am still new to this but have found nothing that I dislike about Dr. Weiss and his staff.
I would say Dr. Weiss and the Georgetown Hospital staff took excellent care of me before , during and after. No regrets.
My first impression of Dr. Weiss was...O.K. not only is he an accomplished surgeon (I say this because I had already done my research about him)he'cute too. Not that that's a prerequisite for a good surgeon but at least I won't come out from under the anesthesia screaming (haha)
Seriously though, I attended a seminar he hosted in Lexington, Ky. and he was standing in the hall before it began, so I walked up pecked him on the shoulder and introduced myself as his future patient.LOL I found Dr. Weiss to be very friendly and patient with my 20 questions that i fired at him one after the other ( a test from inquiring minds want to know)He was very well informed and knowledgeable about the whole program. His office staff is absolutely without a doubt top notch. They are very friendly and organized. Nothing is to menial for them to answer or take care of for you. There aftercare program is very extensive and doesn't just end once your out of surgery, I feel very confidant that if I called their office 10 years from now they would still be there for me!!! My opinion of Dr. Weiss just gets better and better, I e-mailed Cathi Roskind his Bariatric RN just a couple of days ago with a message for her to forward to Dr. Weiss and he responded within a couple of hours to me directly. This makes me feel even more confident of my choice to have him as my surgeon, because he remembered who I was and reassured me that everything would come together soon. So now that I've written a book, I guess it's safe to say I'd rate Dr. Weiss, his staff and Georgetown Hospital with four stars, and I'm sure it will only get better !!! See ya on the losing side.

Dr. Weiss is very knowledgable about the gastric bypass surgery and wants you to be very knowledgable as well. His main emphasis is making you aware of how the process works, risks involved, and expected outcomes. I was very impressed. The office staff is very friendly and knowledgable and many of them have had gastric bypass themselves. I don't have any negative comments. I would give Dr. Weiss and his staff a 10!
