I did my research on doctors and felt Dr. Chae was the best. I was nervous meeting him for the first time because I was afraid I would end up not liking him and then have to go through the hassle of finding a new surgeon. However, I was not dissappointed. Dr. Chae was very kind to me and since I brought my children with me, how he treated them was just as important. He was very kind to my children too, and laughed at them when they got grossed out by his slide presentation of the surgery. He patiently answered their questions even when they asked him if he made alot of money! His presentation seemed alittle bit perfunctory but other than that, I was greatly impressed and can't wait to work with him further.rnrnrnrnrnrnrnrnrnrnrnrnrnrnrnrnrnrn

My surgeon was sitting at his desk in his office with the door open when I first saw him. I thought that the \"open door\" was significant in that I think it made him seem very accessible. He said during our first interview that I would have a direct telephone number to speak to him should I have any questions or concerns. This was AWESOME! He is loaded with excellent credentials as well. I know I am in good hands when he does surgery on me. I have another appointment with him before surgery where I will be gathering more information. I think his surgical competence is better than his bedside manner; but both would rate excellent in my opinion.rnrnI have seen my surgeon again (the last time before my surgery) and I am more convinced than ever that he is going to take great care of me. He has given me a telephone number to contact him directly if I need to. (I won't have to go through anyone else! How cool is that?) rnrnSusan at the front desk is incredibly kind and helpful--and funny! She makes the entire visit more comfortable and enjoyable.rnrnOn the negative side, they have one of those automatic blood-pressure cuffs in the office. They hurt like crazy and no amount of yelping will influence the cuff to stop adding pressure! Ugh!

Dr. Chae is a very kind and respectful man. I had my surgery done when he was at the University Hospital so I saw alot more of his students than I did of him which was a negative. His staff was always respectful and courteous. I needed a massive hernia repair, it would have been my third with him and instead of saying he would not do it, he had me come to his office and gave me a brief exam and then told me he would not do it...it was obvious that he had decided already. After care was fair. He was very direct about the risks of surgery. I would rate his bariatric surgery an A, he is a perfectionist. His hernia repairs were unsucessful but that's not unusual for me...I had massive infections after both. He is very soft spoken and kind and his bariatric surgery was excellent.

Dr. Chae is wonderful. He took time to explain everything and answer questions. His staff is wonderful and very supportive. I would recommend Dr. Chae and his staff to anyone. Dr. Chae is not a \"warm fuzzy\" but I always felt like I was in excellent hands.

Dr. Chae was immediately warm and supportive of me. He made me feel hope for the first time ever. I told him I wanted to change my life and he took my hands in his and he literally promised me that together, we would just that. And we have. He has always been very available to me, very kind and honest. He hugged me on my way out after my hospital discharge and he told me to \"Go enjoy your new life!\". He is absolutely the kindest most compassionate and caring doctor. When I went under the anesthesia, I knew I would wake up again...Dr. Fry is also an excellent anesthesiologist. Thanks Dr. Chae....you changed my life!!!

On my initial visit to Dr. Chae's office I was full of questions. Susie was wonderful and put me at ease immediately. Dr. Chae was absolutely wonderful. He sat me down and showed me the visual's of what types of surgery was available and how they would be performed. He was willing to explain everything and answered all my questions. He explained steps from start to finish and also my after care. Kelly was also helpful during the nutition classes.

Dr. Chae is absolutely wonderful! He is completely dedicated to his patients and cares deeply. I had consults with 2 other doctors in the Denver area and felt that Dr. Chae was the best.

I had my first visit with Dr. Chae on 4/2/04. Dr. Chae is a very warm, caring person. Not to mention extremely knowledgable. And he has a great bedside manner! I think he has a wonderful mix of both, and that is exactly what I look for. He addressed risks completely, and answered all of my questions, even questions I had after I had left and had e-mailed to him. His office staff is awesome, very helpful, and spent a long time chatting with me on my first visit.

I finally got approved, and had surgery on 11/17/04. Dr. Chae is waiving his fee, since he is currently out of network. I am so thankful for everything that Susie and Dr. Chae have done for me! If you have Great-West Health, make sure you have everything, be patient, and never give up! Dr. Chae is worth the wait!

Had some issues, but I'm thankful I was approved in time to have surgery before our insurance changed.

OK. I'm now post-op and very glad that I went with Dr. Chae. He is a top notch surgeon. It was the easiest surgery I've ever gone through and I'm sure it was due to Dr. Chae's expertise. He also will set appointments on Saturdays which is essential for me since it is a 5 hour drive to his office. In my opinion that is just another indication of how much he cares about his patients as people not just surgeries. I'd rate him great on both surgical competence and bedside manner.

Met Dr. Chae on Saturday. He seemed to be as everyone described; knowledgeble, caring, and kind. He explained everything very well including risks and possible outcomes. He requires a bariatric nutrition class beforehand taught by Kelly Elliot (sp) which was very thorough and lasted 5 hours. I'm still pre-op but at this point I would rate him a 10.

I chose Dr. Chae because of his reputation as being one of the most gifted bariatric surgeons as well as being a warm and caring physician.
I am now 2 weeks postop and I can happily say that Dr. Chae more than lived up to his reputation. I can't recommend him more highly.
Pre-op Dr. Chae carefully explained the surgical procedure and any and all possible complications. He even took the time to address some of my family and friend's worries.
Post-op Dr. Chae came around to see me several times a day. He carefully expained the details of the surgery and the medications I was receiving. He made me feel I was involved in my own care.
The Skyridge Hospital staff were all so warm, gentle and competent, I hated to leave.
The nursing staff told me over and over that Dr. Chae was their favorite Dr!
Susie is very positive and upbeat and a doll to work with.
Kelly is extraordinary in he knowledge and her experience with all the things baratric patients need to know about their new bodies. She is easy to talk to and made me feel I could ask any question no matter hw silly.
I had the best possible surgical experience.
