Frank H. Chae Bariatric Surgeon MD, FACS

Dr. Chae is one of the best doctors I have ever met. He genuinely cares about his patients and is very encouraging. His dietician, Kelly, has been instumental in my success so far. They are a great team and I owe a lot of what I have been able to accomplish to them.

Very nice, informative, respectful. I'm confident in his credentials and experience.

My first impression of Dr. Chae was complete confidence! He is very knowledgeable in his professional field and communicates that to the patients. He is very up front about all risks and explained the positive aspects of the surgery. He answered all my questions A to Z to relieve all doubt or stress going into the WLS procedure. He makes you feel good about yourself and what lies ahead. I love him dearly since undergoing the surgery! I rate his bedside manner and surgical competence as great! He has a very structured aftercare arrangement designed toward patient success. The Midtown office staff is absolutely awesome and caring! You don't feel an ounce of embarassment for being overweight. The staff truly cares about you as an individual and imparative toward your success! The only problem I ran into ALSO was getting a hold of the SkyRidge Medical Office staff to make an appointment or follow-up on information. You rarely get a live person and had to leave a message on most occassions. I communicated by email 98% of the time, which took away from the customer experience. I found this to be very annoying and frustrating when I wanted to speak with a human individual! A lot can be learned from the Midtown Office which really rocks.

The office staff is wonderful, caring. You don't feel one ounce of embarassment for being overweight. Dr. Chae is very detqail orientated, wants whats best for you. He truly cares about you as an individual! He has a very structured aftercare, to him it is very imperative to you suceeding. You will not be left to fight this alone!! He's very up front about all risks and positives. All questions are answered. I have nothing but good things to say about him, bedside manner and surgical competence are equal. The only problem I ran into is getting a hold of the office to make an appointment, you rarely get a live person and need to leave messages and they will call you back. This was frustrating!

I immediately liked his staff and efficiency. They called me before my appointment to get insurance information and made my appointment and checking in procedure much easier. Dr. Chae was very informative, patient with our questions, and passionate about helping people through this surgery. He was always professional, wearing a suit and tie, even at the post-sergical hospital visits, but personable. I appreciate his experience, membership and leadership in bariatric professional organizations, and low complication rate. I would definitely recommend him to ANYONE looking into surgery.rnrnI did find him to be very thorough, but almost to the point of rushing through appointments. Although he easily answered my questions i sometimes very hurried. However, I prefer this type of Dr. as I myself am a \"get down to business\" person.

I really like Dr, Chae, he is in my opinion the best at what he does and gives a patient the freedom to decided on their own what type of surgery to have. Sometimes he takes awhile to warm up to you-- so don't be disheartened. He is very serious about his job, which is the reason why I picked him. His staff is great and very supportive. I had my surgery at Skyridge medical center and my experience was excellent! The nurses were very caring and knew their stuff! DR. Chae came to visit me everyday while I was in the hospital--I was in 3 days-- He does have a structured aftercare program and several support groups in the Denver area--none in my area yet--(Boulder). The groups are free to anyone who had surgery with Dr. Chae. Kelly is an awesome Nutritionist and helps you through the insurance hoops.... Tara Lynn is the Exercise physio. and she is just great. Dr. Kaplan is the psychologist and he is the calm sounding boarding all of us need.
Overall I would rate Dr. Chae a 10 out of 10!

My only problem with is sometimes the office is hard to get a hold of. I have to call many times to get ahold of Suzi-who is understandably busy--but sometimes I didn't get a return call within 48 hrs. which was frustrating.

Dr. Chae is soft spoken, but extremely knowledgeable and experienced. He has a genuine concern for his patients and their health. Not only does he go over the possible risks, but he has a video presentation to make explanation of the surgery more visual and easier to understand. Susie is so sweet and accommodating. I have a surgery date of August 1, 2005, and I will update this after I am home from the hospital. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ My surgery date was postponed to August 15th, 2005, due to low Potassium. I was devastated, but Dr. Chae assured me that the surgery would happen. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ My surgery was 22 months ago, and I am still losing. I am 5'7" and now weigh 134 pounds. I want to lose another 10 pounds before starting my plastic surgery. After completing the plastic surgery, I plan to gain 10-15 pounds back to help firm up. My life has changed for the better, and I owe it all to Dr. Chae, Susie, and Kelly!!!! Without God guiding Dr. Chae's experienced hands, the surgery would not be possible. I had previous surgeries, and my abdomen is full of surgical mesh. Dr. Chae was able to navigate through and perform the Bypass surgery with no complications. I still cannot believe how great I look and feel. When I pass my reflection, I have to stop and take a second glance because I cannot believe that skinny person is me!! I now have more energy and a much better outlook on life. Yes, it was difficult at first, but this is the best thing that I have ever done for myself. I am able to eat whatever I desire, as long as the portions are small enough - even deserts. Unfortunately, my car was rear ended by an 18 wheeler 2 years ago, and I was on bedrest for several weeks before having back surgery, and things were rough for about 6 months. Having severe back and ankle injuries and pain, I am no longer able to do most exercises. I did gain 40 pounds back, from the 183 pounds I originally lost. No big deal. I am watching what I eat, swimming as much as possible, and I have lost over half of those 40 pounds I gained back. I would not have been able to do this without the surgery by Dr. Chae. My only regrets are not having enough money to have all the reconstructive surgery I desire, and not getting the bypass surgery done years earlier. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ I took my husband to Dr. Chae since we moved back to Colorado. Sprint changed their coverage of Bariatric surgery this year, and we did not notice the policy change. That is okay, my husband has a new job that does cover the surgery, and we plan to have him get it done toward the middle of next year. Dr. Chae is the only doctor I trust, and I know he will take great care of my better half.

Dr. Chae is my hero. He was wonderful in every way. He took the time to go over everything with me he answered questions. He personally returned phone calls, I really don't have any complaints. I would recommend him in a heart beat! Thank you so much, you are the greatest!

I found him to be very nice and knowledge able about the surgery process. He has done lots to these surgeries, 1500 or more. rnrnHe however like every medical person I know is very surprized that i have such allergies to artificial sweetners ( mainly sensitive to preservative and sulphites. )rnrnBut still going to go on with this. rn

I would ABSOLUTELY recommend Dr. Chae to anyone thinking of having weight loss surgery. I found Dr. Chae to be knowledgable, caring and willing to explain procedures and protocol. Dr. Chae did excellent work on my surgery and also assuring my nervous husband that all is well. Thank you Dr. Chae for making my life so much more enjoyable.
