Very Nice, handsome...very confident, paid me a compliment...seemed very busy.
My impression has stayed the same excellent doctor.
He has a awesome staff....the stay in constant contact with you.
Seemed very busy, but very understanding.
He and the staff are there to help you all the way.
After care is a must and long distance is done with Dr. rodrigues and your primary care physician working hand in hand.
Yes.....Up to one year, and then when ever you feel the need they encourage support groups.
He explained everything in detail and had a class of eight in the morning with a nurse, dietician, and exercise expert explaining everything in detail.
I would rate the service him and the staff as an A++++++ experience.
He is great at bedside manner and surgical competence.
The only thing negative I would say is I had to pay 150.00 for a packet which I thought was a joke, but after the first day of seeing him, and the classes he had arranged for us during the morning it was well worth the 150.00.
He is a very wonderful and concerned doctor.
His staff is knowledgeable and very dedicated to helping me get approved and be successful post-op. They are friendly, helpful and caring. Dr. Rodriguez is empathetic and friendly, but don't take this to mean he's a push-over. You'll know this isn't the case after reading and signing your informed consent package. You'd better be ready to give as much as you get in order to succeed. What I really appreciated was this reality check. While you can be blinded by the glamour of losing weight and becoming a new person, his after-care ensures that you remember how much work you'll be required to do after surgery. This is not an easy out, and it's all up to you to determine your success. I feel that I'm in the best hands I could be and that I've made the best choice for me. I would highly recommend him.
I met Dr. Rodriguez for the first time yesterday. He is absolutely wonderful. When he put his hand on my shoulder and said I deserved this surgery, I nearly cried. I had never heard that before. I flet such a weight (no pun intended) lifted off my shoulders.
His staff is great - very helpful, polite and very knowledgeable with the process and the procedures.
Dr. Rodriguez and his staff emphasize the aftercare program like crazy. The surgery is just a small part of the whole journey to a new self. The aftercare program is extremely structured and very much enforced. Which I find very comforting. He doesn't just do the surgery and say okay see you have a great life. They help you the whole step of the way to help yourself to be successful. I was so impressed yesterday at the way they conducted the educational training. And everyone there understands what you are going through. And when I walked into his waiting room there weren't any of those hard to fit in chairs......what a concept!!!
They explained all aspects of the surgery including the risks of the surgery and what to expect after the surgery.
I looking forward to having my surgery by Dr. Rodriguez and getting my life back.
Extreme professionalism. Confidence, competent worked out the process to a science. Left no stone unturned. His office works like a huge ship and everyone does their job beautifully. Does not cut you any slack. Sincere, strong, firm yet disarmingly kind and genuine. Not a man who walks above you, he walks with me. He is sincere, knowledgeable, had many good surgeries and just gave me the impression that I would be in good hands if I chose Dr. Dirk. I did choose him and I must say he was the perfect docotor. Always available, always gentle, always THERE. I saw him two times in the hospital and he stayed to answer questions. He is a good man and a great surgeon. This surgery is his passion and it shows. I would recommend Dirk Rodriguez time and time again. However, he will not take just anyone. Another reason I was so impressed with him is he put me through a battery of test and proceedures that certainly took time, energy and money, but gave him an overall view of my body and mind and I know that was important and I thank GOD he was so through. The only negative would be that I did not satisfy his requirement of a score on a psychological examination and my surgery date was cancelled. After consulting with him and getting an appointment with a psychologist who knows about this type of surgery I was able to score all the right points and have my surgery date rescheduled. I was really mad to miss the date, but really happy to know he has high standards and that I needed to fall into those standards like everyone else. I live 4 hours away from the hospital and getting to and from is hard, but it is certainly worth the trip. I always feel good when I see Methodist Medical Center.
I had my consult and seminar with Dr Dirk Rodriguez of Dallas, TX on 4/27/04. Dr. Dirk Rodriguez is straight to the point and I like this in a doctor. Tell me the truth. I was very very impress with him and his whole staff was so nice. I think we are going to get a long just fine, because he wants you to take care of your self after the surgery. This man is wonderful. When I first wall in his office Yolonda was so nice and pleasant I felt like this was the place for me. When I spoke to Karen she gave me alot of helpful information. I give thumbs up to his whole staff. They emphasize the aftercare so much. Yes, he has a structured aftercare program. They impress the risks of the surgery very well. I will rate Dr. Rod and his staff a 1 out of 10 being 10 excellent. I rate him and and his office a 10. They are so wonderful.
First impression of Dr. Rodriguez: Very friendly man. He makes you feel comfortable and will answer any questions you may have for him.
His office staff is outstanding!! Everyone was great.
His entire program is one that leaves no stone unturned. From beginning to no end, he is your doctor for life and will do whatever is necessary to help you achieve a healthy life.
His office and Dr Rodriguez stress that you have to do your part and stay committed to making the necessary changes in your life to achieve the healthy life you are in search of.
I would rate Dr. Rodriguez and his staff a 10 out of 10 *********
My first impression of Dr. Rodriguez was that he really cared about his patients. He wants to make sure that everyone of his patients has all of the information up front, so that they will be successful after the surgery.
I was very nervous about having the surgery, and had even doubted that I would have it because it's such a serious decision to make, but as soon as I consulted with Dr. Rodriguez all of my fears were put to rest. I truely trust him and would put my life in his hands.
The office staff and Texas Bariatric Center, were so kind. Judy is the first person to talk to, and she made me feel so comfortable and welcome. When I attended the seminar and meet the rest of the staff, they were just as kind as Judy had been. All of the staff are very sincere about helping people who suffer from obesity.
I did have to call the office a few times b/c I had not heard anything about my surgery date or where they were with submitting my information to my insurance. It took about three months total from attending the seminar to setting my actual surger date and getting the approval from the insurance.
Overall, my confidence in Dr. Rodriguez and the kindness of his staff have made this very tough decision so easy and smooth.
I was attending the patient orientation on the day I saw Dr. Rodriguez. I didn't meet him, he just stuck his head in to tell the group hello. I had my first appointment with him a couple weeks later because they had worked me into the orientation and there wasn't time then. During my short office visit with him he asked questions and answered any questions I had. I had driven 200 miles for the office visit and was a little disappointed that it only took five minutes. He smiled and made me feel comfortable though. He and his office staff appear to be very busy. He is booked with surgeries and teaches seminars and his nurse and office people understandably are just as busy as he is. I'm a little concerned that with doing seminars and so many surgeries that he may be overextended and could become less alert in surgery. I found that I get a better response by emailing than by working my way through the "loop" on the office voice mail. I email his office when I have questions expecting to receive an email answer and by the end of the day my phone rings! As far as aftercare, I hear that his bedside manner needs polishing and that he does not tolerate laziness. I don't intend on testing him! His patients contract to follow nutrition, exercise and support programs or else will be referred to psychological care. But after all my research, he is the one for my surgery. He might not have time to stand around and baby his patients but personally, I chose him for his surgical competence not his personality!
I had my initial consultation with him on 3/18. I still don't know why we had to pay $150.00. The visit all seemed to be very rush and no individual time was really given. I was impressed with the DR the whole 5 minutes I was able to talk to him. The staff was friendly, but the insurance coordinator was not able to answer questions regarding insurance( I though that was Weird.)The packet that they gave was very informative and that is where I was able to obtain a lot of answers to my questions. My paperwork still hasn't been sent to my Insurance provider. Not really sure what the hold up is. Wish I could call to find out.
I met with dr. rod and his staff.....they are all very nice and professional. Didnt have much time for doctor to get to know me and my needs.....but thats because he is overlly busy!!! I believe I picked the right surgeon for my gastric bypass!! I am very scared about it though cuz i havent ever had surgery or been in the hospital....hopefully i can talk to the doctor more before i actually go under the knife as they say....yikes!!
