He was very informative. Answered all my questions with easy to understand answers. I asked a lot of questions (I had a list). I felt very comfortable from the beginning and still feel confident with Dr. Suh. The staff is nice and on top of any paperwork and insurance stuff. They were quite competent. I never had to worry about anything but what time to show up and how to take care of myself after the surgery. The office is a little small and very busy. That was a little bit of a turn off at first. However, I liked the doctor and staff so I was able to overlook that. I wouldn't have this surgery done by anyone else. I understood the risks and I knew what I was getting into and I knew I had to make changes if this was going to work for me. I have lost 130 lbs and feel great. Overall I would rate Doctor Suh for his skills as a surgeon as excellent.
My advice: Take your decision to have this surgery seriously! Put your health care choices into your own hands and be responsible for you own health. RESEARCH IS KEY!
I first saw Dr.Suh at the Orientation. That was a big group of people. Dr.Suh gave a presentation about Bariatric Surgery. My 1st impression was that he didnt care for public speaking and was slightly uncomfortable in front of all those people. He did a great job and it was very informative.
After orientation, i went to my consultation at his office, there i was able to speak with him, one on one. I felt very comfortable with him. He seems very caring.
His staff is top notch. they are very willing to help you, if you help them. Mo and Michelle are very very competent at what they do..
intelligent, caring
office staff - cold, indifferent, challenging, other than Jeanie
Excellent liason support at hospital.
he is the best lap. proximal RNY surgeon in so. california
Great aftercare
Great support group
talks privately, and at meetings
A+ rating overall.
Surgical competence is excellent. Also very nice man.
I have only met Dr Suh twice now. The first time was at a support group, and he was the speaker. Ever thing was going wrong, and he just laughed it off and went on with what he need to tell us. The second time was in his office. Very nice man. He was way behind, and should have been rushed, but he took his time and answered every question I had. Now I know why no in the lobby was upset. They have been there and the know he is going to take his time. Any one that his thinking of using him, should remember this. He is going to be running behind, but wait for him, He is worth it. His office staff is great. Every one of them. Mo and Michelle are the two I have been speaking with the most and they are both great. He talked abit about his after care program, but he didn't hit very hard on it yet, I am still pre-op. He talks very open about all the risk. But he also told me how he works to keep them low.
Rating him 1- 10, 1 bad, 10 great. I would give him a 10 right now. I will write more after my surgery.
I liked him very much. Felt obviously he's extremely knowledgeable and compassionate. My impression has not changed of him. He spoke at one of the seminars I attended and reaffirmed my opinion of him. His staff is also awesome. Always answered every question I had without making me feel stupid. Like all Dr.'s he's busy and has more to do than time to do it. But he answered all questions. We discussed aftercare on my visit 3 days before surgery. After surgery there are appts. at intervals, than yearly for life. There are monthly support groups I must attend. I attended these before surgery also, (required) and enjoyed them. Very informative. The hand-out I recieved explained risks of any surgery plus Dr. Suh encouraged me to do more research. Overall I would rate him 9 plus on a scale of 10. I must say, I saw him only briefly in the hospital, both times for just a few minutes. I was there over Saturday and Sunday and he popped in for just a few minutes each day.
First impression great.
Has not changed
Office staff - top notch
I liked everything about him. He is calm, friendly, highly competent.
Future patients should know how personable and well qualified he is. He really cares for the total person.
Aftercare or his protocol is stressed and re-stressed and basically hounded into you so you fully know exactly what to expect.
The risks of surgery were addressed by actual conversations with many many ones who already had the surgery in support groups and seninars.
For me surgical competence is first then bedside manner and Dr. Suh has both. I have a friend, a registered nurse, at the hospital I will be having the surgery and she had nothing but good things to say about him.
My first impression of Dr. Suh was one of confidence . . and it hasn't changed since. His office staff is great . . any questions I have ever had have always been answered when I would call.
What I liked least about Dr. Suh . . well I would liked to have been able to talk to him for a longer period of time . . I know he's very busy . . but I was very nervous about my surgery and after surgery . .
Dr. Suh did an excellent job of letting me know about aftercare . . and to make sure I was in a support group . . He addressed all the risks of surgery . . all in all I would highly recommend Dr. Suh to anyone wanting to have WLS surgery . .
I wanted to have the Fobi pouch surgery but my insurance wouldn't pay for it . . and at the time I just needed to get the surgery done for health reasons . .
I would rate Dr. Suh as excellent . . and I feel that Surgical competence PLUS bedside manner is equal to me . .
