My first impression of him was that he was brief and to the point. Turns out he was an outstanding doctor! Five months out I have no complications. His office is very busy- yo9u may have to wait for quite a while to see him. His nurse is great and the office manager Mo takes care of everything quickly. I would recommend this office to anyone! In fact, I did...my sister-in-law had surgery in July with Dr. Suh.
This is almost like a production line. I've been jumping through hoops-counseling, psych, support groups, classes, tests, slow IPA,-and it could be just a ceramonial bureaucratic process unless I pay attention. I haven't met but once briefly with the surgeon, and all the routine is handled by his staff. they have it down. I get the impression that the surgeon makes a good living doing this. His group has many bariatric patients in various stages of pre- and post-op. (he also does other laproscopic surgeries, BTW) My IPA is less efficient-they're behind the learning curve. So far, I haven't been seriously abused, and Blue Cross of Californica ain't arguing, which means they think they'll profit from this in the long run.
My first impression--he was polite, thorough, and easy to talk to.
Even though his office staff is incredibly busy, they've been helpful in taking my calls and answering my questions.
I'm currently attending Dr. Suh's support group once a month which is located in Rancho Mirage. My first time was extremely helpful and encouraging. They really have their act together.

I found out today that I'll be using another facility for bariatric surgery, which means I'll have a different surgeon. I don't know his/her name yet.

I will be using Dr. Zorn with Pacific Bariatric in San Diego, CA. I'm attending the seminar in Riverside tomorrow evening.
Love this man... he is patient, uncondemning like so many doctors are when it comes to overweight people. For my first visit the staff did all of the paperwork and had me watch a very informative video, they calculated my BMI and other fat stuff... which i am ashamed to post. He described the surgey in great length and told me the length of time I would be in the hospital. They gave me a list of items to have in the house before the surgery and prior to having the surgery you must attend a support group meeting which I am thankful for... I do so much better in groups when trying to accomplish major tasks. He made sure I understood that the possible risks and the risks of malabsorption and the pills that I will have to take after the surgery. I am very impressed with his bedside manner thus far and I look forward to going thru this process with him.
*I felt comfortable with him right away.
*I feel now that I was not aggressive enough in asking questions or even had the knowledge to ask the right questions about the meal plan after the surgery. I was/am under the impression that this might be the quick fix that was needed for me to lose weight quickly. I had no idea that it was going to be this hard. I kept hearing that I would be able to eat the same foods but just not in the quantity.
*Mo is out of this world. I really like his office staff. I wish there was more on support groups for after the surgery.
*He did not look at me as an obese person but he saw the smaller person in me trying to get out.
*That if they want full attention on themselves at the time of their visits that they need to do so even thou there is an office full of patients.
*Not much other than the office visits.
*No not that I have seen as of yet, other than the follow up weigh in each month or so.
*in full detail and totally understanding.
*On a scale from one to ten---8.
*Both are estemely important to me as is the after care and that is where I am having difficulty with.
My opinion is very limited. I have had one appointment with Dr. Suh. My second appt is this Thursday, July 15, 2004 and my surgery is scheduled for July 23, 2004.
My first impression is positive. He seems very knowledgeable and non-judgemental of his patients. I am comfortable with him as my surgeon as of now. I have asked other patients of Dr. Suh their opinion. Their responses are positives also. Many of his post-op patients are very pleased with the attention they received from Dr. Suh and the staff members as a whole. I don't know about any one else, but this just reinterate my positives toward Dr. Suh and the Crown Surgical staff.
I am very excited to start a new life after my surgery. I have had some very recent medical issues and am so ready to get going again.
At this point I don't have a negative opinion. No one is perfect so there will probably be something along the way that will not make me 100% happy but .. I will get over it or handle it (smile).
I will probably have more input after my appointment on Thurs.
