Right before getting a surgery date from the Dr. below, I decided I didn't want him operating on me. I changed to Dr. Suh in Corona and have been thrilled with him, his associates and his office staff! He is very compassionate. His staff is helpful, friendly and totally on top of everything! I had a surgery date in no time. My surgery went so smoothly and I had minimal pain and no problems since then! I give Dr. Suh and staff a 10!
==============================
You know I’ve read a lot of the OH member posts praising Dr. Krahn, saying how warm, supportive and funny he is and I’m left wondering—WHO DID I MEET??? Maybe I caught him on an off day because I thought he was a big... let’s just say I didn’t get a good impression. Abrupt, derisive and a little rude it seemed like I was bothering him. Very different than he seemed at the first informational seminar. Not what I was hoping for from the person who might be cutting me open. ***I am explicitly stating these were just my personal impressions...I was very disappointed.***
Flor (office staff) on the other hand was wonderful, very informative and helpful. The rest of the staff (especially the girl who answers the phone,) always seems to be in a bad mood.
I think Dr.suh cares about his patients.The appointment was fast but he explained everything.He does the lap r-n-y,I was afraid w/ a bmi of 78 that I wouldn't be able to have it but he said that thats the way I will have my surgery.I have to only lose 15-20 pounds,which is what everyone usally does for the liver and to thin your fatty tissue for the lap.And as soon as I do my pre ops he would do it in 3-4weeks!...AWESOME! I would rate him a 10.Oh yeah they give you a packet to read about everthing post op diet ect.
Pre Op: My impression of Dr. Suh was that he was very patient and informative. He took all the time I needed to answer my endless questions. I love the staff at Crown. They are very helpful and get back to me quickly when I leave messages. Mo is a wonderful surgery coordinator! I truly think that she is not appreciated as much as she should be. Dr. Suh has a really good patient success rate and an extremely low mortality rate. This impressed me. Thanks to all the people that make up the wonderful place called Crown!
Post Op: Dr. Suh continues to impress me. He isn't a very talkative man, but he is to the point and seems to genuinely have concern for his patients. That is a rarety these days. At my first post-op appointment, he was really excited for my weight loss.
Dr. Suh's protocol for surgery is very strict, but I think it is for good reason. Any time I have strayed, I have paid LOL His rules are warranted. I am really happy to be a loser and that I have such a comprehensive surgeon and am really looking forward to the rest of my life! Now, if it would only get here LOL
Dr. Suh is very soft spoken, but full of passion for his work. I don't think that he is a big talker, but I think that he is good at what he does. I met him in person on Jan.12th of 2006 and my opinion is still the same. I have yet to see his bed side manners, but he seems sincere. The one thing that was a bit turn offish was the fact that his office for the consult was to crowded, it was standing room only. But the staff is very friendly.I think that Dr. Suh has extreme knowledge in his work and I know that he only does the surgery if he is 110% sure you are a great canidate. He is not in this for the money but yet for the joy of helping people live healthier lives. His aftercare seems very good and it is structured. he will see his Kaiser patients for the duration of their life after he proforms the surgery. I would rate him out of 10 a 9. The only reason I marked him down was due to the corwded office and there was a few times that I had questions because I was so excited that I felt I was bothering the staff. (thier tone of voice)
I was told by several people at work that if possible have Dr Suh do the surgery. And as luck would have it, Kaiser had just started outsourcing this surgery to Crown Bariatic and Dr Suh. I attended a couple of the support groups he has and was very impressed with his knowledge and compassion. He is very thorough and concerned about after care.
I had first seen Dr. Suh at a seminar and was completely impressed with him. He answered everyone's questions and went over everything. His surgery coordinator, Mo, is right on top of everything. She helped me get this surgery quicker thru Kaiser, without her, I would probably be still waiting. On my pre-op visits, Dr. Suh explained everything to me and answered all of my pre-surgery jitters. I was not just a number to him. He came in and visited me everyday in the hospital and actually made me stay an extra day for precaution. I was a little upset at the time, but I trusted him. I highly recommend Dr. Suh........he is an awesome doctor!!!!
