I just went for my initial consultation on Wednesday July 25, 2001. I knew alot about this Dr. because my cousin had her surgery a year ago and told me alot about him. I found him to be pretty nice. I feel he knows what he is talking about however, I found him to also be a bit hard to understand. I'm sure in time I will understand him better. His office staff seemed very nice. Since this was my first visit it's hard to offer an opinion. I will have to update more after I see him again. I have scheduled my physical to get the ball rolling for Sept.11th.

I really liked him.

My impression changed to bad after time because it was like he wasn't concerned for me after sugery (he got my money).

The office staff is friendly when you talk first.

I wanted/want to lose more and he would help me.

He really emphasizes aftercare because I still go after almost 3 years.

I WOULD LIKE TO THANK EVERYONE THAT HAS MADE A COMMENT ABOUT DR. VANGURI & HIS OFFICE STAFF. WE TRY VERY HARD TO MAKE EVERYONE FEEL AT HOME. WE TRY TO MAKE EVERYONE FEEL LIKE WE ARE ONE BIG HAPPY FAMILY. WE ARE VERY VERY BUSY AND ARE GETTING BUSIER. BUT WE ARE NEVER TO BUSY FOR ANY OF OUR PATIENTS WHETHER THEY ARE NEW PATIENTS OR OLD PATIENTS. REMEMBER YOU ARE NOT ALONE, WE ARE HERE FOR YOU. WE WANT TO MAKE YOU A HEALTHIER PERSON AND TO KEEP YOU THAT WAY. PLEASE HAVE PATIENCE WITH US BECAUSE WE HAVE ALOT OF PATIENTS TOO...=0)

Dr.Vanguri is a very friendly man with a gentle smile. I felt comfortable with him right away. His office staff is friendly, informative, and always seemed to have the time to talk. There was nothing I did not like about his office. My only complaint is with my own insurance company, Federal BC/BS, because they have a post-op approval policy only. I have to wait until after the surgery to be approved. Yuk! He does have a structured aftercare and encourages all to attend. He was very thorough in his teachings concering risks. Overall, he appears to be an expert in his field.

My first impression of Dr. Vanguerri was that he is a quiet person. He answers all your questions and gives your options up

I met with Dr. Vanguri for my initial visit and felt very at ease with him. He describes everything about the procedure as it is and tells you everything pretty straight forward. He explained the risks of the surgery as well as the benefits. He seems like a very caring person who is only looking out for your best interest weight-wise. The office staff was just as nice as he was and very helpful with any questions I had. He did emphasize the aftercare is very important in making this tool work. He seemed like he really knew what he was talking about and I feel comfortable with him as my surgeon. 06/29/01 Dr. Vanguri's office called with a surgery date.....September 14th. I feel like doing the happy dance I'm so happy!!!! Thanks to Dr. Vanguri and his staff this is possible for me.

After reaserching, I called Dr. Vanguri for an appt in March.My original appt. was for August. They called and moved it to April! Yeah!. My husband and I met with Dr. V and a small group. He was very soft spoken but Totally put you at ease. Questions were asked and he was very good at answering in detail. Having the group setting helped because some questions that I had not thought of were asked. He explained the risks associated with surgery which were no different from any other surgery.I was very comfortable with Dr. Vanguri and looke forward to surgery.I made my follow-up for a physical for May 31st. They office staff was freindly and reassuring about the Ins. approval, which is my biggest concern!

Went to Physical Appt. 5/31. Paperwork was sent to my Ins Co. on 6/14. WAITING!

Dr. Vanguri is a funny indian man, thin with a smile that lights up the room. he was very sympathetic and was very willing to take the time to talk to us. his staff is wonderful, but overworked. he definitely insists on 1 year of follow up, and exercise to maximize weight loss. he does tell you about problems that could happen, but stresses that with people who are basically healthy, there is very little risk. i will rate him a 10.
