He was a very kind person. His accent was a bit of a suprise. His staff were very kind and extremely professional. It was a very busy office and I didn't know what was going on, at first. Aftercare seems to be a major priority and he does get you well informed with lots of reading material. He was very up front about the risk to me especially since this was a revision and therefore more dangerous. I would give him a 90 so far. lets wait till after the surgery for final eval.
Dr. Vanguri gives a thorough explaination of the procedure. He wants to make sure that you know exactly what you are getting into. He is very nice and caring. His staff is also pretty friendly. I had lots of questions and I called several months before I had my initial appointment and one of his staff members stayed on the phone with me for 20 minutes and basically gave me the courage to stand up to my PCP and get my referral. At the time, he wasn't on my previous plan. As soon as my coverage changed, I went to see him. His staff took care of the letter to my insuarance company. He also has a support group and excellent after care. I feel very comfortable with Dr. Vanguri as my surgeon. He is very experienced. The only negative is that he doesn't lap procedures.
Dr. Vanguri and his staff are wonderful.
They are very supportive and experienced with
this type of surgery. They have the process
down to a science. You do not have to run
around to see a lot of other MDs or weight
management groups before seeing Dr. Vanguri -
which is greatly appreciated by his patients.
I really liked Dr. Vanguri, He seemed very
intelligent and was also very friendly. He had some of the girls as office staff who had had the surgery themselves and they were very nice and helpful. He explained the surgery with diagrams and answered all of our questions. He explained all of the risks
and what we would be required to do following the surgery. He was vert patient and I did not feel like I was being rushed out of the room for the next patient. His office staff seemed very willing to help me with getting approval from my insurance company which is my one big worry. He also went over the importance of getting involved in a support group. He seemed to really know his stuff
I had my first appointment with Dr. Vanguri on October 5, 1999. He seems to be a very kind yet straight-forward kind of doctor. The office staff were friendly and willing to talk to me if I had a question. He sat down with me and my husband and talked about my medical history, what the open RNY procedure is like with pictures, addressed all of our questions, explained the risks of WLS, and discussed aftercare and information about his WLS Support group meetings. He was very thorough and efficient.
I had an Endoscopy on 11/2 done by Dr. Vanguri. I can't begin to tell you how relaxed he made me feel. He has a very calming effect. Another reason why I feel comfortable with Dr. V is that he personally returns calls the same day no matter what your concerns are.
Dr. Vanguri and his staff are wonerful. I met several of his patients the first time I had an appointment with him. The second time I saw him I was even more relaxed. I found him through this site and wrote to several patients who he has operated on. Everyone had nothing but praise and now I know why.
He follows through on patients. Some patients in the waiting room were back for their 7 year check up. That impressed me. He described the surgery, makes you think about it before making another appointment.
My first impression was that he was a very busy but caring man. He took the necessary time to explain the whole procedure. My impression did not change except that I thought he was very caring. His staff is wonderful and very helpful. I cannot say anything negative about him. Future patients should know all about the aftercare. Dr. Vanguri does address the risks of the surgery. I would rate him a 10 for surgical competence. His bedside manner was also very good.
