My first impression of the Norton Bariatric Center was that it was a nice place to be. Everybody was very friendly and extremely helpful. It was a great experience. I have really enjoyed dealing with the entire staff. I have not met Dr. Jeffrey Allen face to face yet. MY first face to face is in July. I have however, spoken with him and e-mailed him several times, which he promptly responded to. I htink he is one of if not the best for the lap surgery. I am looking forward to meeting him and putting the rest of my life in his hands with gods will of course!

I met Dr, Jeffrey Allen today! I was very excited and he was very nice. He was very thorough and let you ask as many questions as you needed to feel safe and comfortable. I believe he is agreat surgeon. I meta lady in the waiting room that said he actually gave her his personal cell number when she was sick and dehydrated. He is very concerned about his patients well being and proves to be the kind man I researched for 2 years!

I have only met him once and I really liked him. He was ready to answer questions and very knowledgable on the subject of Bariatric Surgery. He had charts, films and his staff was just as wonderful as he was. They have been expedient in scheduling my surgery and getting all the approvals needed. The directions to their office were perfect even for someone who lives totally away from that area. Dr. Allen listened well and allowed plenty of input from me. He also was encouraging in telling me that I seemed knowledgable about the subject. Most Dr's think they know it all and do not want any input from their patient. I can't think of anything I dislike about him or his staff so far. He addressed risks of the surgery both in answering my questions, with charts and films. I am well aware of the risks and even possibly death going into this and I'm still excited rather than scared. I believe my Dr. is competent.
He and his office emphasize aftercare as being more important than the surgery in being successful after surgery. They do have a structured aftercare program and encourage all the patients to use it, however if you live far away they encourage you to find an aftercare program that is closer to you that you can participate in. Overall I would rate him as excellent so far... will let you know more after surgery. I think both surgical competence and bedside manner are equally important.

I first met Dr. Jeffrey Allen on February 25, 2004 at a seminar concerning gastric bypass/banding. It was very informative and an enlightening experience. I was not absolutely sure at that time about which surgery would be suitable for me. After hearing Dr. Allen's presentation, I was certain that the gastric banding was for me. He is good looking, well-dressed, very professional, knowledgeable, and very patient. He answered all questions completely and honestly.
I met with Dr. Allen again on May 4, 2004 to discuss having the surgery and submitting request to my insurance. He was still very attentive to my concerns. I had a list of questions and he patiently listened through all of them and answered each and everyone of them.

I like Dr Allen. He has a great reputation. Unfortunately the office wait can be quite long. And the appts short. The staff isnt the easiest going at first but when u get a surgery date they become much more helpful. He does have good seminar though to tell u all u need. And great about answering questions if u have them. Over all I recommend Dr Allen Highly.

Pleasantly surprised. He wanted to do what was safest and in my best interest. I have found that he is also an instructor and asst professor for laparoscopic surgery. I have found articles on and by him in several magazines. I know that he is who I want to do my surgery! The staff was liking a little in people skills. I can't say there was anything I didn't like about him. I didn't spend that much time with him. He is very busy, and it will take time. He touched on everything from beginning to end. He does have an aftercare program. Because we did cover the risk that is how we decided on the lap band. Very knowledgable and concerned for his patients. I would rate him as being very very good. Even my GP would only send me to him.

I really liked him from the first time I met him at the seminar. I knew that he was a real caring man and that he wanted to help me.
His staff was really nice. They took time with me and they didn't seem to rush me. They explained everything to me and especially the risks that I would be taking and he explained the do's and don'ts after surgery.
I would recommend him to anyone that was anticipating having the surgery. They are a wonderful group of surgeons and staff.
He gave me another chance for a longer life which I don't feel that I would not have had if I hadn't had the surgery.
To rate him well he is the best in all aspects
