I could not say enough about Dr. Allen, his staff, or the hospital staff at Norton Hospital. I am still in awe of it all. What a wonderful doctor, staff and hospital. On a scale of 1-10 they are all 10's in every area.
One cannot say enough when they receive the level of skill and care that I received (not to mention the results). I feel they really "saved my life"!
The only "negative" was a smart aleck doctor trainee, but was not enough to damage the rest of the experience.

My first impression of Dr.Allen was he was very friendly. He is very caring and ready to listen. His office staff are very nice and I like them alot. The only thing I dislike about him is he is very busy and gone alot....He is very good at his job and i would highly recommend him.He came to see me everyday in the hospital, and he was very caring. He strongly told me the risk of this surgery, and I understood what I was getting into.I would rat him a 10 because I feel he was the right doctor for me.He was thoughtful with all the procedures, and I'm very thankful to have met someone who has helped change my life...Thank you very much Dr. Allen.

My first impression of Dr. Allen was, "Oh my, he looks alot like Jim Belushi. But as time went on, I felt like I had a wonderful Doctor/Surgeon that I was dealing with. His office staff is great. I know that his office stays rather busy, but takes out time to take care of your needs or questions. The aftercare program was really well emphazied; with detailing quite a bit on the risks of surgery. I would give Dr. Allen and his staff a perfect 10 on rating them. Both the surgical competence and bedside manners were great. I cannot think of anything negative to say about them since I had a great experience on surgery.

I wasnt crazy aobut him pre-op. I felt like another number, but now post-op I like him a lot. He seems warmer. I think I feel like he is my "hero" now or something cause now I think he's cute and I didnt think that pre-op. I think they have a good post-op plan. THe nutritionist, Erin is great. She is very friendly.

He's quiet. Kinda shy. He very kind and understanding. He address' the risks of surgery well. But his office staff was not very helpful at a helping me schedual my surgery and informing me on how much to whom i would be paying. It was very frustrating and tedious to get the information. His office staff doesnt seem to have much personality. However, His surgical skill is outstanding. I was a very high risk canidate and he accepted me, when no one else would take a chance. I was told that he had done 800lbs people before by nurses at the hospital. I would refer anyone to him and would feel confident on their survival. I had no complications at all, he made it a cakewalk. The hospital that he does the surgery at is the most excellent hospital that i have EVER been to. You would definately be in good hands there. Both bedside manner and surgical competence is great.

On first meeting Dr. Allen I was very impressed with his bedside manner. He is a very understanding and compasionate Doctor. My first office visit with him was very informative..he answered all my questions and made sure i was well informed. His office staff was very caring and helpful to my needs. I highly recommend Dr. Allen, his staff, and Nortons Hospital to anyone wanting to embark on this weight loss journey. Even though its only been a couple of weeks since my surgery, I want to thank Dr. Allen for giving me my life back!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dr. Allen is a wonderful man! He helped my mother through a really tough battle with Hemolitic Anemia (a blood problem discovered after her surgery) and I wouldnt let anyone else touch me because I have that much faith in him! His staff is great, they are very busy so one must have patience. The Bariatric Center at Norton Hospital has been a fantastic resource for me. There is a great aftercare program dealing with support groups, outings, clothes closets, etc. to keep people involved. I think his surgical competence and bedside manner are both wonderful which is important to me. I would highly recommend him and his staff to anyone!!

I've had both appointments with Dr. Allen. He seemed very nice and very serious about what he does. The staff was very good to me , but I have had a couple of problems. They submitted the wrong procedure to my insurance despite their knowledge of my insurance policy. While waiting for my date I kind of got the run around. I also don't feel that they have properly prepared me for the surgery. The only pre-surgery instructions I have recieved is to not eat the day before and bowel preparation. They didn't even know if I needed to fast or not before going in and haveing pre-surgery testing. My advice to anyone using Dr. Allen is to ask ALL questions no matter how insignificant they may seem and stay on them when it comes to approvals and dates. Considering the excellent reviews that I read about him and his office this does seem kind of odd to me. Maybe they are just very busy.
