Emerson Hospital Center for Weight Loss Bariatric Center
He's a very quiet man...but DOES have a sense of humor (albeit, a dry one). The staff is great...sometimes it's hectic--but they definately know what they are doing.I was informed of all the risks and problems that might arise as well as all the possitive. There is also a support group I go to at Brigham & Women's Hospital in Boston. With this type of operation...probably all types actually--surgical competence is vital...but if my initial impression of him wasn't good...I wouldn't have decided to have him be my surgeon.I have had only a possitive experinence (so far ) :-) I'm 3 weeks post op and doing well.
Soft spoken man answered all of my questions and was very knowledgeable. his office assistaint is a trip she is very oganized and provided a lot of comic relife for the office.
My 1st impression of Dr. Lautz was at a patient group meeting. He was the speaker talking about the 3 different types of surgery the hospital does. I orginally had an appt with another doctor I was thinking of having the open gastric bypass, after hearing Dr. Lautz talk and mention about the laproscopic gastric bypass. I said to myself that is the surgery I want to have. I had to change Doctors because the doctor I was set up with unfortunately doesn't do laproscopic. I called the next day and changed to Dr. Lautz. He knew all the right answers to our questions we asked he even cracked a joke, that tells you he has a good personality.
My consult was on 9-1-05.
Before I know it my surgery date of 10-18-05 will be here very soon, I can't wait to have it done and live life the way it should be lived. We’ve been together almost 13 years .
He ran 3 1/2 hours behind on my consult date, but it was definitely worth waiting for. He was kind and soft-spoken and I have complete faith in him.
Dr. Lautz is a very quiet caring man. He seems to care about his patients. My operation was uncomplicated and his surgical staff followed up on me very well Looking forward to losing weight and getting healthy. As well as keeping those important follow up patients.
Eileen in the office is one funny lady she knows her stuff and is a real human being.
I did not feel looked down upon while I was in the office. I felt like I was taken care of. Have nothing but good things to say about Lautz and his staff.
I chose Dr.Lautz for his extensive experience in laproscopic surgery on the obese person. At the time of my surgery 10/04 not many banders had been through any of the major Boston hospitals. I felt this experience along with the training/mentoring on the band surgery would be a "piece of cake" for Dr.Lautz--and it was! It appears from postings that his patients never report surgical problems or extended stays in the hospital.
Dr.Lautz is a very kind man. My best friend is having lap-band surgery and she is travelling half way across the state to use Dr.Lautz--because I was so happy with his skills, talents, knowledge and care.
Sometimes you might have a long wait for your assigned appointment--however that is why I went to Boston--to get the best!
