I thought that Dr Nusbaum was very knowledgable about this field. I felt very comfortable with him right away.
The office staff is very professional, but that does not stand in the way of there caring & understanding.
Although I am really just starting the process, I feel confient that I will have a very good experience.

I initially had planned to consult with both Dr. Nusbaum and another local surgeon to compare. After my initial consultation with Dr. Nusbaum, I knew I didn't need to look any further. His knowledge and expertise made me feel 100% confident that this was the right surgeon for me. He took his time with me, explaining the whole surgery process, answered ALL my questions and gave me that security I was looking for. I couldn't ask for a better Dr. than Dr. Nusbaum. He is an expert in laproscopic surgery, and his techniques go above and beyond safety. The office staff was very good to deal with...Wanda was my main contact person , and she was a doll, would call me back if I left a message for her. Overall, I am so impressed with Dr. Nusbaum and his whole team.

I was very impressed with Dr Nussbaum felt he was very informative though I had done A LOT of research on my own and attended seminars so I pretty much knew what to expect. The jury is still out on office staff, when i called for 1st appt I explained I would be coming on my lunch and asked how long would everything take. they said we send you all paperwork to fill out before you come so consult with Dr is about 40 minutes asked them to mail paperwork to my office not home mailed to both had a co-worker who didn't get it at all so gave her my extra well anyway exam was about 40 minutes but waited 90 minutes for exam. Has done thousands of these procedures it's basically all he does have talked to several people who he operated on all were very happy. I did feel he is concerned about before and after care did address the pro's and con's haven't had surgery yet so that's all I can report

I met with Dr. Nusbaum on 4/14/04 after waiting six months for an appointment and it was well worth it! Dr. Nusbaum came highly recommended by my gynecologist as well as my primary care physician. He has a wonderful reputation. I have had the opportunity to speak with several of his patients who have undergone the surgery and all agree that he is the best!! He took a lot of time with me during my initial consultation, never rushing explaining the various procedures in terms that were easy to understand. He was quite personable, a wonderful bedside manner. He also spent a lot of time explaining the extra steps he takes to increase the chances of a full recovery without any complications. He made me feel very comfortable and at ease with my condition and for the first time in my life I felt as if I found someone who cared about me and the pain I have experienced being overweight my entire life. Someone who was going to guide me through this journey. Not only is Dr. Nusbaum incredible but the entire staff is warm and helpful. Wanda was a great help working with my insurance company. I was approved in two weeks. What you should know about Dr. Nusbaum is that he strongly suggest an aftercare program because this is truly a change in your life long change. In fact, it is mandatory. He never minimized the risks of surgery, he simply educated me. His surgical competence was as important to me as his bedside manner. He passed with flying colors!!!

Origionally I was scheduled for surgery with Dr. Davis at Hackensack Medical Center and two weeks before my scheduled date, Dr. Davis left the practice. I guess there was an angel guiding my path because after meeting Nusbaum I wouldn't select anyone else. He is very thorough, he explains well, is honest, and takes extra steps to insure your safety and the best possible successful recovery. He has ordered several preliminary test to make sure I'm in good health like an Endoscopy, Stress test, Pulmonary function test, and Venous doppler, none of which were suggested at Dr. Davis's office. I just had a brief consultation and then a date for surgery and pre-admission testing that's it. Since I had already been approved through Dr. Davis's office all Dr. Nusbaum's office needed to do was contact my insurance company with the new date and Dr.'s name.

He emphasized an aftercare program and will have me set up with a Nutritionist before I go home from the hospital, sounds very structured. He was very honest about the risk which is why he does some of the extra steps that other surgeons may not do and that is go in and hand stitch as an extra support for the staples to prevent leakage which, he says most think it's not necessary but he went on to explain it helps him sleep better knowing he took every possible pre-caution for my safety. I haven't had the surgery yet and when I do and all goes well, and even just on my interaction with him I would rate him a 95. Sugical competenence is far greater, even though bedside manner helps but if the doctor isn't competent and good at what he does, you may never need bedside manner, if you know what I mean.

I just love Dr. Nusbaum. He is a Knowledgeable & confident surgeon. I did not have any problems & when I thought I did he called me back promptly. I trust him a great deal & would recommend him to anyone & everyone.

I MET DR. NUSBAUM FOR MY INITIAL CONSULTATION AND WAS HIGHLY IMPRESSED WITH HIS KNOWLEDGE, HIS HONESTY, AND HIS UNDERSTANDING. I AM GREATFUL TO MY COUSIN MARIA WHO TOLD ME ABOUT HIM AFTER SHE HAD HER SURGERY AND RAVED ABOUT HIM. I CAN NOW SEE WHY... HE IS SIMPLY THE BEST.. HE TAKES TIME TO EXPLAIN EVERYTHING AND I MEAN EVERYTHING TO YOU. I LOVE THE FACT HE IS YOUNG AND TALKS TO YOU AND NOT AT YOU. I WOULD PICK HIM AGAIN IN A HEARTBEAT. ID RECOMMEND HIM TO ANYBODY 100 TIMES OVER.

I was referred to Dr. Nusbaum by a friend and was very impressed with my first visit. My husband attended the appointment with me and all our questions were answered as Dr. Nusbaum was very thorough in his explanation of the surgery. The office staff has been cooperative so far as I have been back several times to drop off paperwork for insurance approval. Currently, I am waiting to hear if I have been approved for WLS. Dr. Nusbaum is very precise when it comes to the care of his patients. He takes all precautions when performing the surgery and takes extra measures to prevent future problems... for this I am grateful. He has set my husbands mind at ease and I look forward to getting my WLS performed in the near future. I would recommend using Dr. Nusbaum to anyone as he has proven to me what an outgoing and caring surgeon is all about.

Dr. Nusbaum is an asset to the medical profession. He is kind, straight-foward and answers all your questions. There is no one else I would have used. His office staff is very friendly and helpful. Wanda, the surgical coordinator did all the work for me and I was approved within 2 weeks.

Went to see Dr Nusbaum today 2/25/04. Everyone is right he is young, but very knowledgable and profficient. Makes you feel very confortable and takes his time explaining the procedure to you. I like the fact that Dr. Nusbaum does the leak test while you are still in the operating room and how he not only staples your stomach but he also stiches on top, so the chances of a leak are minimal. I only met one person in the office and that was Jasmine what a wonderfull person so soft spoken and kind. I would recommend everyone to go to Dr. Nusbaum. As for what I see he is very particulate with his procedures but that is what we are all looking for in a doctor when we decide to have such a huge procedure done. We want it done correctly. And Dr Nusbaum is your Doctor.
