Ok my surgeon...He was young. I liked him, but I was just so embarresed to tell him about my eatting habits. He was confident, caring, personable, he spoke in ways that I could understand him. I liked him. I just wish I wsn't so shy about telling him everything about me. I have to call him and ask some more questions. I loved his staff, a bunch of nice down to earth girs. They all discussed everything I would have to do after surgery. I just liked him alot, If I was uncomfortable with him in any way, I would not have stayed, but they were all more than I had anticipatied.

Dr. Nusbaum is a young man but Is very thorough I was very lucky to see him so quickly. I think everyone should go see him. Even his lap-band surgery is less evasive than normal. He describes everything and will do tests if needed. I do not need any tests and am thankful for that. The office people nurses etc are very nice also.

I had a wonderful first impression of Dr. Nusbaum. He made me feel very comfortable. He explained everything to detail and made sure I understood everything that was going to happen. I had no second thoughts walking out of his office. My cousin refered me to Dr. Nusbaum. She had the surgery in Nov. He was everything she had said.

Dr. Nusbaum is an amazing surgeon with an outstanding bedside manner. He is extremely knowledgable concerning all aspects of bariatric surgery. It would be my pleasure to give a referral to him if anyone is interested in hearing about him first hand. I wouldn't have chosen another doctor in a million years!

My first impression of Dr. Nusbaum was very good. I think he explained the surgery to my wife and myself very clearly. He answered any questions that I or my wife had and he had patience. His staff was very friendly and helpful.

I liked his persona, he looked at me, gave me eye contact. I judge people to see if they look me in the eyes. I liked how professional he was and still is. He explained the procedure and answered my questions. He gave his number to call and talk to him after I went home and talked to my family and looked over the diagram he gave me of the procedure.Since first meeting him and 8 months later he is still concerned about his patients and still takes time to give eye contact and listen to you and your concerns.I have referred others to him so they may experience the joy and gladness I am feeling from my surgery results. There is nothing I like least about the doctor. His office staff is friendly, courteous, and professional. They answer your questions and are very helpful.Future patients should know that he treats his patients as individuals he is concerned about.He will tell you the truth and do his best for you.He did emphasize an aftercare program for support but my schedule doesn't allow me to connect with them. Yes, he did address the risks of the surgery.If 10 were high on the rating scale Dr. Nusbaum would get a 20.Surgical competence is rated first but the bedside manner is just as important, no one wants a doctor who treats you like scum. Patients are people who need to know their doctor is really concerned with doing his best to obtain for them the very best improvement for their health that he can.

I was surprised at how young Dr. Nussbaum is. But after spending over an hour w/him at my consultation I felt at east and confident in his expertise. He came across as a knowledgeable, talented surgeon. His office staff was pleasant and helpful.

Although my medical doctor recommended him, my first impression was kind of prejudice because he is so young. I thought to myself that he couldn't possibly be so experienced. After inquiring about him and doing my own research, I started to believe that he did know what he's doing. The office staff is very helpful. They treated me very well, answered all of my questions. I had never been out on disability before and they filled out all of the forms promptly. They always have a pleasant word to say. Future patients should know that his preferred method of surgery is laparascopic and with this method your recovery is quicker and you are not cut open. Dr. Nusbaum explains everything so the layman can understand. He came to see me everyday in the hospital, instead of sending someone else. I will give Dr. Nusbaum a 93/4 because no ones perfect, but he is close. His surgical competnece and bedside manner are great. If you chose him as your surgeon, you will not be disappointe.

I have been battling my weight for as long as I could remember. I felt hopless until I heard about Dr. Michael Nusbaum. He was great. Since we were about the same age, we hit it off right away. He was very informative and thorough. He seemed to understand what I was going through. He explained the procedure in detail and told me about some of the things that he does differently. Instead of testing for a leak the next day, he tests in the operating room. This way, if he finds a leak, he can fix it right then and there. After the visit, I was so impressed with him. Afterward, I checked with some friends who are nurses at St. Barnabas. THey told me that as far as they knew he never had a leak and had never lost a patient. In fact, they said that many of the nurses have had the operation by him. I met him three more times before I decided to have the surgery. I was very scared about surgery. I had heard many horror stories on the internet, but had met several more of his patients at work. They all told me to go for it. I didn't think that I had much choice. I had developed a very bad cardiomypoathy and my cardiologist told me that I had 5 years to live. I had a very hard time getting a cardiologist to clear me for the surgery but I found one that said I was very high risk but he thought the alternatives were not worth it. Shelly, Sharonda and Wanda were great. THey helped me with everything and made my presurgery time go smoothly. I had the surgery and everything went great. I didn't even belive that I had the surgery because I had no pain afterward. Dr. Nusbaum numbed up all my incisions so I felt no pain. I didn't even use the pain pump thing. I was in the hospital for three days but I felt like I could have gone home on the second day. Dr. Nusbaum said that he likes to keep everyone for three days just to keep an eye on them. I did feel much better by the third day. Now I have lost 265 lbs and I think I have another 50 to go. I feel great, I'm dating, I have more energy and this was the best thing I ever did in my entire life! Dr. Nusbaum is the best! I owe him my life. If you are thinking about the surgery or have already seen another surgeron, see Dr. Nusbaum- you won't regret it. I rate him an 11 !
