Dr. Nusbaum was awesome. Excellent bedside manner. Excellent communication in the office. A true gentleman. Answered all questions. My personal experience for the surgery was a success- no infections, fever, nothing. Very, very pleased with whole experience and I credit that to Dr. Nusbaum's care.

At first when I met Dr. Nusbaum I was concerned because his office was kind of empty and his staff did not seem like they were busy. Little did I know I just came on a slow day. The doc sat down and spent almost an hour with me talking with me about the procedure and my many different options. Not only was his office kind and warm but they were PUNCTUAL! I had visited another local doctor's office and he made me wait over 2 hours. Before leaving that first day Dr. Nusbaum had made sure I met with the nutritionist Karla and the insurance lady Wonda. Both of whom were extremely eager to get me started. I didn't have to wait and I felt like my time was valued. The staff is more than willing to work with you and fight for you as well. My insurance company makes you face the 6 month weight loss period but after Wonda got done with them, I was approved after 5 months. It was wonderful to have everyone in the doctors office just as excited for me as I was. Even after I got approved, Karla still called to see how I was feeling.


The surgery is one day. You see the surgeon, he does his thing, and your done. But, his office is what sticks with you forever! I am so pleased with my decision to go with Dr. Nusbaum and I wouldn't chose anyone else!

I had a single incision gastric band with Dr. Nusbaum four months ago. I was refered by the nurse manager on my floor, who also had the band with Dr. Nusbaum. When I came back and showed her how you couldn't even see the scar in my belly button, she couldn't believe it. The surgery went so well. Dr. Nusbaum was so caring and understanding I couldn't get over it. His staff is amazing and his bedside manner is incredible. I couldn't be happier and I know that three other nurses on our floor have already gone to see him. I've seen many other bariatric surgeons here and he is the best hands down!

Dr. Nusbaum is warm and comforting. His office staff is both efficient and nice! I trusted him completely for my first surgery, Realize Band 9/24/09 and will do so for the second.

Dr. Nusbaum was very honest about the risks and worries involved with any surgery. He made me feel very comfortable and explained everything clearly.

Dr. Nusbaum is a top-notch surgeon with excellent skills and an incredible bedside manner.

I liked the information he provided at his seminar enough to schedule a consult with him a week later. I had been to a seminar at another practice approx 2 yrs ago, and couldn't get out of there fast enough. I also consulted with another NJ practice, but felt harassed by them to have surgery, and their initial seminar was a little to slick and marketed for my comfort. Felt like I had a dollar sign on my head.

Dr. Nusbaum's office staff are young, but very friendly, personable and accomodating. I was able to use the nutritionist in his office for my 6 month supervised diet at no cost and I really liked her. I had a complete understanding of what life would be like after WLS inregards to permanent dietary changes and behaviors.

2/2/10 Had my Realize Band surgery at MMH. It was a very good experience overall - the nurses & doctors were very kind, responsive, and I felt that the care I recieved was excellent. I would wholeheartedly recommend this surgeon, hospital and staff to anyone considering WLS surgery.

I am very pleased with my choice of surgeons. Dr. Nusbaum is very easy going, polite and knowledgable. I went to a six month weight loss program at his St. Barnabas facility and his staff and service was extremely motivating and pleasant. Everyone there made me feel like we were a family, from the secretary, the dietician, the case managers to Dr. Nusbaum himself. My only issue was that I expected my scars to be smaller. He does make less incisions than most surgeons, so that is a plus, I just wish they were barely visible. He's very adamant about after-care. I saw him two weeks after surgery, then every month for the next three months. He also referred me to a metabolic specialist. He has tweeked the way he performs surgery in order to limit some of the risks with weightloss surgery. Overall, I would rate him a 9.5 (there is always room for improvement). I think both his surgical competence and his bedside manner are exemplary. He is the better choice.

I just got my surgery and so far he has been great, his office staff are awesome and they all really fought for me when we had to go up against the insurance company.

Dr Nusbaum is very helpful, informative and patient. He has an excellent team of bariatric nurses, surgical coordinators, physical assistant, registered dieticians/nutritionists, and metabolic medicine physician. I am so happy I made this decision to have the Realize Band and blessed to have Dr. Nusbaum as my bariatric surgeon!

Dr. Nusbuam Is A Great Doctor He Really Comforted Me Before And After The Surgery.. His Staff Are So Kind And Are Always Willing To Help.. He Has Been Involved In Over Two Thousand Weight Loss Surgeries.. From A Scale From 1 - 10 I Rate Him And His Staff With An (11).. I read up on my surgeon before I went to meet him for the first time. Seeing what everyone had wrote about him just made me wonder if he was really all what they had said. Well let me tell you that he is all that and more. Dr. Nusbaum is one of the most professional Drs that I had ever met. He was kind from the moment I met him. He went over everything with me and answered every question that I had. He made sure I left his office comfortable with him. He introduced me to wanda the surgical coordinator. She was great. she worked with me and informed me of everything I needed for my insurace to approve me. It was done fast. I wasn't expecting it so soon. His staff is incredible. Once the day of surgery came Dr Nusbaum came to see me before surgery to assure me of everything and to explain the procedure to my husband. I must say he is the only Dr I ever saw where a dress jacket over scrubs. Once he left my side I knew that I picked the perfect dr for me. I would recommend him to anyone. As a matter of fact my brotherinlaw is going to see him too.
