Northside Hospital of Atlanta Bariatric Center
Dr. Gorjala and his staff have been great. They have managed my 6 mo. supervised weight loss. Traci, his nutritionist is wonderful, she has been so supportive. They have guided me through the whole process, put my package together for insurance, and I was approved after the first try. Dr. Gorjala is a little strict. Makes you do 2 weeks of liquids before surgery. They highly emphasize aftercare. They require compliance with a structured schedule of follow up visits, and support group meetings. I want someone who is going to make sure that I do things right, and I think he will.

I imagine that the previous posts regarding the office staff, were rather long ago. There must have been a large shift in staff, or in how they deal with patients. The office staff here has been wonderful to say the least. LaTonya, Dr.Hart's nurse coordinator is amazing. She has seen me a few times without an appointment. Just to answer a question or to allow me to drop off paperwork. She has been on top of exactly what I will need to for the insurance company, and she has been nothing but helpful.
The people running the office are a delight to deal with. Everybody is personable and polite to say the least.
Finally Dr.Hart gave an incredibly informative, yet light informational seminar. He is very laid back and honest with his answers to the questions that have been thrown his way.
When I saw him in the office he was personable and professional. I am looking forward to having my surgery and I have no doubt in my mind that Dr.Hart is the surgeon for me!
Dr. Williams was awesome, he discussed everything with me and brought me home safe from the surgery. Before the surgery, I said--I have a two year old daughter Dr. Williams, bring me home safe!!---
And he did! No real complications from the surgery other than gas pain and a headache afterwards. My friend is 2years post op with no complications and she recommended me to Dr. Williams.
He is the best!

this man has a great personality and tells it like it is. Open and honest will answer questions and work to help you achieve a goal. Aftercare is a real process with this group and support group is great. we all laugh and talk about what is going on with us. It is a new group but the doc has been doing this for years with great success. I give them the 10/10 so far . I am almost 8 weeks out .
The office staff and set up there is all getting prepared as our group just started and insurance coverage for the hospital is new. The kinks are being worked out and Nikki in the office just started with her hands full doing Great too. I have had good experience so far some in the group had insurance billing issues but they are being worked out I just wanted to make sure it is understood I am part of the Gwinnett Medical at Duluth bariatric office not seen in Gainsville. I know he is great at both offices from all I have talked to but they do not have him listed under Duluth as of this time
My first impression of Dr. Richard was very refreshing. I had begun the process with another surgeon, and while I was confident in his skills I was not comfortable with his demeanor. I attended one of GMS's free seminars and was impressed with the amount of information and accessibility. I made an appointment for an initial consultation and May and had my vertical sleeve on 7/8/2010. The entire program, from the surgeon, to the nutritionist, to the exercise therapist and psychologist are all in-house and I had pleasant experiences with all of them. The monthly support groups are essential and basically helped me make the final step in scheduling my surgery. Debra, the program manager is fantastic and runs a tight ship. They're always available and able to help. Dr Richard is truly an awesome surgeon. His military background put me at ease and I had nothing but the utmost confidence in him. I literally can't say enough positive things about him and accurately express my appreciation for how easy he made this difficult time in my life. Incredible doctor and surgeon!
I was referred to Dr. Michael Williams by Nurse Lynne Winne, Bariatric Coordinator for Emory Johns Creek Hospital which is a center of excellence for Bariatric Surgery in Johns Creek Georgia. Lynne Winne referred me to Nurse Janet Yandow, who works for Dr. Williams. I called her and was immediately impressed with her knowledge and attitude.
My first and second visits were very professional and the staff is top notch! Nurse Janet Yandow is a true professional as she has had weight loss surgery herself and understands the rigors which we go through.
My Lap Band Surgery went smoothly and I was done before I knew it. Dr. Williams came in and talked to me several times before and after the surgery.
It is now week 8 and I have lost 41 lbs and have never had a single problem. Not even throwing up or "sliming". I had my second fill on May 17th and I can eat about 5 to 6 oz. before I am full. Ta-Da! No problems.
I therefore heartedly endorse Dr. Michael Williams and his staff of professionals.

I didn't meet Dr. Johnson until the first office visit. During the initial seminar, I met his colleague from the same office. I was amazed at Dr. Johnson's youthful appearance. I like how the office assistant, Susie, followed up on many, many details.
I am glad that they submitted the paperwork to get the procedure that I wanted to the insurance company. It was approved on less than 4 days.
So far, I love the aftercare program and have no complaints. Glad I had the surgery done and I refuse to look back. Honestly, I had no negative experience.
He rates very high on my scale and he answered all my questions from the start.
