Northside Hospital of Atlanta Bariatric Center
Dr Hart and the team of professionals at Atlanta Bariatric have been very supportive, caring. informative, and encouraging through the pre op, surgery, and the post op period (3 weeks) today. They have been available for calls regarding healing, nutririon, and help in balancing proper diets. I strongly recommend them.
I dont think i could have found a more profesionall Doctor to help me go thru this journey. I am a few weeks out till surgery but the precautions and education Dr.Richards and his remarkable staff have shown this far make me extremely comfortable. Going into this i thought i knew what all would take place but step by step i see a complete system that gives me alot better chance at success than i had even imagined. He reallly has all the bases covered and i am so excited and greatfull to have him as my Doctor! I will post later after surgey. Also big thanks to Nikki and Amy for all your help!
There is no way to say enough good things about Dr. Richard and his staff! This is a journey that I would do again. He is not the kind of doctor to sugar coat anything but tells you the truth and the path you need to follow to attain your goals. He has a kind and gentle manner but is confident and strong. Anyone who choses him and his team is truly blessed and will succeed as long as they listen and follow directions!

My surgeon was Excellent! I had gastric stapling when I was 17 years old, so Dr. Hart already had his work cut out for him when he did my Gastric Bypass 25 years later! The surgery went wonderful and no complications! He really knows what he's doing! I also just had my Gall Bladder removed last week, a year after my Gastric Bypass and Dr. Hart did that surgery as well! I wouldn't trust anyone else!
Dr. Richard is also the Director and surgeon for theBariatric Program at Gwinnett Medical Center, Duluth, GA. He performed gastric bypass surgery on me on March 25, 2010. My first impression of him has been a long lasting impression. I met him when I attended an informational session about the various options for weight loss surgery. I could not stay for the entire session due to a class I had to attend. I was going to pick up some literature and the surgery application and leave. He encouraged me to stay for as long as I could and that any information learned would be helpful. I did and he was right. When I met with him a few weeks later, he remembered me and the conversation we had that night. I was impressed. I have found him to be thoughful, warm, friendly, personable, approachable, caring, smart, intelligent, experienced and skilled in weight loss surgery, competent and has excellent bedside manners. Future patients should know all of the above and that they have a physician who is accessible and dedicated to their weight loss success and restored health. Dr. Richard was very open and honest about the risks of surgery and allowed plenty of time for you to ask any questions you could think of. Overall, I would rate him an A+. I think it is better to have surgical competence than bedside manners but with Dr. Richard you don't have to compromise or choose one over the other. He has both characteristics. The only negative thing about Dr. Richard was that the laproscopic surgery failed and he had to open me up. I knew that that was a risk and I am so thankful that I had a surgeon who knew what to do and was skilled to do what was necessary for me to have a safe surgery. I recovered well and I have no regrets or complaints. I would do it again with the same doctor, Dr. Robert Richard!
